    Great job! Great to see one of my favorite youtuber gear reviewers actually displaying his gear and musician talents playing a real live gig! You have my complete respect! Keep up the great work!

      I second this. Showing a live gig adds so much more information for the listeners. Great job Rich

    I have two 50w Katana’s & like the stereo sound when playing outside… I also like using one Katana behind me leaned back and a small HeadRush FRFR-108 powered wedge in front of me… This gives me a nice stereo sound on stage but keeps the volume level low out front… The amp and the powered wedge are both light weight

    Katana and a mike. That's it!

    True , 99% of your audience don’t care if you are using tubes or transistor , analog or digital as long as it sounds good

    With that amp setup I'd have gone Dry to the Marshall and wet to the Katana for stereo. Blending in the SY200 sounds like a good case for one of those pedal mixers to add it into the Wet stereo pair.
    Fantastiuc stuff, thanks!

    Really great tone. Sounded really good. I really gotta try that Blues Driver. I have no idea why I keep avoiding it.

    Looks like a fun gig! You find it not worth to hassle to bust out the acoustic? Just got a Marshall dsl myself. Nice amps!

    • @RichBischoff
      @RichBischoff  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, no acoustic. Just find a semi clean sound.

  • @davidbradley8295

    Yeah water and electronics are never a good mix.
    The boss blues driver has some good tones, especially for the price..
    I have a fortin fuzz that would surpise you, you can turn down the levels of saturation and get a nice crunch tone.

    Good stuff. Are you guys just mic’ing the vocals?

    • @RichBischoff
      @RichBischoff  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, vocals and kick drum. We only had a little 4 channel mixer. Everything else was just coming from the amps.

    I'll bet that boat had some Lithium batteries in it! My buddies house burned down because of lithium batteries in his ATV. And - there's always one guy dancing with his beer :)

    The mighty Katana! The things are just killer gigging musician amps. Band sounded good. Ever consider a little jam band stuff Rich? I took my drummer to a local dead cover band, and he saw the light. A room full of people dancing the entire set? People like an instrumental improv danceable jam now and then. Just a suggestion. Could definetly see a shakedown street or a funky bitch or something from you guys.

    The view was beautiful except for the houses dotting the landscape, you kicked butt as usual,your singing is getting better everyday,you almost have to be an impressionist to be a singer, getting all the different voices down can be a challenge, keep up the good work and thanks for sharing brother.

  • @MarkJohnsonJams
    @MarkJohnsonJams ปีที่แล้ว

    Hell yeah. Were you running the Marshall and the Katana? Or just have the Katana as a back up

    • @RichBischoff
      @RichBischoff  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both, stereo. The one other katana had my guitar synth going into it.

    Are bands trending back to using amps live instead of all direct to PA? Sure sounds better to me as a player.

    • @RichBischoff
      @RichBischoff  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't really think amps have completely gone away. There's a lot of hybrid setups these days. Real amps but with a way to run it direct to front of house. I know some bands around here that are completely direct. If you go direct, everyone else needs to as well, it's to hard to compete with a guy who can turn around and turn up his 50 or 100 watt amp.

    • @TheEricJohnsonExperience
      @TheEricJohnsonExperience ปีที่แล้ว

      Same experience as Rich: most venues want you to keep stage volume to a minimum and send everything to your in-ears and house PA. I like using Fender's Mustang GTX line, it's pretty fun just going through all their amp sims and dialing in good tones not to mention using their built in effects as well as hooking up my own pedal collection. The future of amps and effects is probably going to be devices like the Mooer Prime 1 and Boss Katana/Fender Mustang. Exciting stuff!

  • @pharmerdavid1432
    @pharmerdavid1432 ปีที่แล้ว

    The moral of the story is: don't bring your best gear to low-paid gigs in questionable venues. Lord knows you have enough gear to do that, maybe bring your Epiphone ES-339 Pro instead of guitars worth thousands? The dry-wall dust on your wet gear is unfortunate, but should wipe off, unless it got inside of the nooks and crannies. Such are the perils of live gigs, being a home noodle I don't have to worry about that, but the house dust builds-up and gets into everything too - especially if you are a bit of a slob like me!

      Yeah, when we moved inside I just set up a Katana no pedals. Stuff was dusty, but there no damage.
