I rode flatland until the early 2000s and my hero back then was Andrew Faris, who I even got to meet in person once. I was so proud. After I hung up BMX, however, I kept watching this sport and then Matthias came along at some point. Wow... What this guy has done for this sport (and still does), what he has created and implemented, is hard to put into words. Matthias IS Flatland. And now he is almost twice as old as Yu and competes with this fantastic youngster as if it was the most normal thing in the world. Unbelievable. The same goes for Alex. He'll be 46 this year, so he could be Yu's father, and he's still in the thick of things. My utmost respect! Yu now marks the spearhead of a new generation. What he delivers at the tender age of 18 is simply unbelievable! When did he start? At the age of 2? On a 6" bike? Such technique, such talent, is a gift from the universe. You can hardly get enough of the way he dances with the bike and seems to switch off gravity. Congratulations on a well-deserved victory! Unfortunately, I don't like Jean's style. Technically world class, but it seems so hectic and much less fluid than the other three. But that's just my humble opinion. All in all, a wonderful final with great riders and a deserved winner. And, what can I say? Andrew Faris is riding again and so will I soon - at the age of 44. Thanks guys!
Flatland 4 life here baby!! Let’s go, always deserved a spot in X games. Greatful to have it back. Seeing Simon O Brian won the last one and was amazing to witness as a kid We need the recognition of our community and our styles and how we push each other Ride on!!
These dudes threw down so hard. It is so technical I couldn’t believe my eyes 👀 😮 Awesome!
Haven't watched flatland since the 90s interested to see how far it's come.... let's go!
Absolutely unbelievable!!
