Wasn't an avid watcher of this, but Lucy Lawless was the absolute bomb back then, a woman who actually looked physically capable in her role as a fighter...I loved seeing her play a big part in the excellent BSG remakes as well.

When they announced a Live Action Wonder Woman, Lucy back in the 90s as Xena was the physical idea i thought of. Now, dont get me wong, i love Gal in the role active wise, but she doesnt physically fit her imo. Lucy back in the day was the picture perfect WW.

Aphrodite was the star for me💗 Didn’t expect her to show up to help mortals, but she really loved Gabrielle. Alexandra Tydings did an amazing job with just a couple of lines and that expression she gave Lucy…Clearly Xena could have offed her easily and she knew it, but she seemed to sincerely want to care for Gabrielle. Xena’s look like, don’t even think of trying anything was so rad. Best scene with more chakram action than we’d seen all season👍
Early in that episode too, Aphrodite tried to stand up to Athena about using the furies on Gabriel.

That's ridiculous, Sailor Moon looks nothing like the Greek gods, most of the designs were stolen from fashion designers. There's ZERO accuracy whatsoever. 😅😂😂
Nice touch of Xena sparing Ares at the end. She makes it clear that she's willing to kill him if he forces the issue, but she only cuts his arm.
Xena, Buffy, and Nikita (the blond one) were my heroes as I was growing up. Can’t imagine what I would have done without these badass women ❤️

People savor the moment too much as opposed to just killing someone. The gods really could've have killed Eve, but Hades and Ares sure wanted to enjoy the moment, smh.
I loved these episodes and scenes. I liked to pause and rewind so I could see the details of each gods different teleportation and power visuals. Also, lol only Xena could defend and kill so many gods. The odds were definitely against them 😂
This whole thing with Eve is a mess now xena have to do what ever its takes to protect Eve and Gabrielle

Both Eve and Hope, were not my favorites. I found Xena by accident on one of my tapes and found it interesting enough to start recording it all the time since the station was not that good with their timing. I needed multiple recorders since they were all single tuners.
Remember when women characters were actually written brilliantly instead of what's out now.
Love Xena when I first watched her and still love Xena now. One greatest role model for your daughters and grand daughters.

You're 100%. This whole season the gods acted like a bunch of buffoons and didn't use 95% of the power they had possessed in earlier seasons.
Xena survived being crucified, being hit by a giant log, and countless battles with Callisto (mortal and goddess). Blowing up the tavern would've done nothing to stop her. At least that's what I thought when this episode first aired when I was 14

and then she would have just woke up with burnt hair and said her line from past season

then she'd be psuedo-paralyzed but still somehow fight off the Gods 1by1
and all while guardning Eve and Gabbies lifeless but still alive bodies...
The gods were such a huge part of the Xena mythos and world. Here, they acted like a bunch of dolts and were too easy to kill off. I love Xena, but I hated the Twilight arc. After five years, we FINALLY got to see Athena and Artemis, and they die too soon and too easily.
Xena had the same problem with power scaling as Supernatural, like at one point Aphrodite made a song that could rewrite reality but the best they got for trying to kill Xena is hurling slow fireballs at her
Xena was so thorough and violent it was always exciting to see her angry. The actress was just too perfect to translate that, plus the hotness.

Tobeck as Deimos (and Strife) is so emotive, his looks of horror while Hades burns, gleeful cackle after setting Eve on fire, so good

Even though this was an awesome scene to watch for action standards, I always hated this arc. To kill the Olympians.. They were part of the greatness of XWP, mythology-wise. It's stupid how 1 character, without any special item (I do like the special God killing items earlier on in the show story-wise), could kill all Olympians..
I also want to add that I loved Athena getting a bigger role but the creators really missed out on Artemis with her whole Amazon connection and through the Amazons, to Gabrielle. Also always disliked that waste of potential.
This all said, XWP still is my top favorite show, still though ❤. I just really disliked these things I pointed out.

Didn't the hind's blood have the power to kill a god? I know that was on Hercules but the two shows shared the same world and there were crossover episodes. Could've done something with that.

No one can't tell me Xena wasn't a demigod. She consistently held her own against the gods. At least at some point she became a demi god (I'm thinking that episode when she 1st died and had to be brought back with ambrosia)

Hades could have killed eve if he was no so busy gloating
This Hades actor was a joke compared to the original actor. The original actor for Hades was a badass and was extremely believable. Hades and Xena had a good relationship and when they brought this new actor in, it didn’t feel like Xena and Hades were ever cool.

Growing up watching this was literally the best feeling in the world. Every episode was action-packed. Xena and Gabrielle were my heroes as a kid.

Good job Athena didnt teleport right behind Xena when she'd thrown her frisbee at Ares!
Opponents that only attack from the front when the protagnist is ready are tight!
sad part is Xena was holding back through the first part of that fight as she didn't want to kill any one. When her daughter almost got burned alive thats when she pulled off the gloves and decided it was time to kill some gods.
Her daughter who has done worse than the gods combined. Her daughter who is a mass murderer. But because some holy deity sais that she is forgiven, she is now clean. But the gods must be killed nonetheless. Xena is just a slayer for eli and his cult. Writers deserved to be put in jail for that.

I love how the one god that knows Xena the best, knows what she’s capable, knows how she fights, has studied her combat for decades, and has swapped hands with her the most just decided to NOT fight her in any capacity here. Totally just said, “Yeah, Imma pass on that but y’all have fun.”

I remember this episode. For the being the goddess of battle and wisdom, Athena was not very smart nor were the other gods. Had they left her and her family alone she would have never defended herself against them and they might have all lived too. I also remember the Hercules crossover before Xena gave birth to her daughter as well. Hera turned against Zues and helped Hercules in protecting Xena by taking him to his grandfather Cronus bones so he could use it as a weapon. Zues sort of wiped out/absorbed Hera into himself before Hercules killed him.

I honestly don't think that Xena was ever more powerful than Hercules. She was only given the power to kill gods, and she later loses that power. Hercules can still fight gods and somewhat beat them, with some exceptions.

I watched this and Hercules as a kid, but never really followed it to keep up with the story. I remember why now😅
