      Do you recommend this? Because it’s really expensive... I can’t find other alternative acrylic gouache. 🥺
      I love the finish painting! ♥️♥️♥️

    the advantage with acrylics is that you can add additives to get the effect you want, which is so good. I love acrylics for their versatility

    I literally have the same materials and I still can't paint like this 😭 felt like i spent money for nothing haha. This is beautiful 🥺 wish I could paint like this
    Edit: You can try wetting the palette then put a parchment paper for baking on top of it to keep the acrylic gouache from drying! It really works ☺️

    Thank you so much for this video! I think I’m finally sold on this gouache. It seems like there aren’t a lot of videos demonstrating acrylic gouache, and this is the best by FAR that I have found. One thing I have noticed in other videos is that the artists use an extremely small amount of water, or even no water, with them. There is this fear of “breaking down the binder” which I keep seeing everyone saying, but I knew that these were intended to be used like traditional gouache and that it was fine to add a lot of water, so I am really happy to see you show that. That was one thing I wanted to see before purchasing them. The idea of breaking down the acrylic binder by adding water is generally very overstated and it’s frustrating to have people say “these are acrylics so don’t add water.” Thank you for answering a bunch of questions I had, too, especially about the drying time.

    • @mald379
      @mald379 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think you're spot on! especially when it comes to painting on paper. Cavas is a different story, i did see a bunch of painting peeling and crombling off because people were using acrylics on them more like light washes of watercolor, but canvas, despite having ground layer, stays moving and streching more, meanhwile on paper everything holds together and there is very little chance pigment is going to fall off.

  • @murraykriner9425

    Its another weapon in your arsenal of Artist Material's. It almost sounds like they were bridging the gap between a soluble and insoluble opaque media, without the hastened drying or the clingy coherency to brushes and knives one expects. A more stable Alkyd or Egg-Tempra using synthetic pigments. Makes sense, as it would offer reduced cost and improved flow of colors. Glad your thrilled with their results.

    • @berika6
      @berika6 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The only problem is they are MUCH more expensive than Alkyds and Egg Tempera

    • @murraykriner9425
      @murraykriner9425 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@berika6 art has always been an expensive enterprise, with only the filthy rich able to bathe in the genius of the able practitioner's that ply their wares. I will never get my money, time, or inspiration returned back to me once I begin counting the cost in a world market that only cares to silver-line its pockets at our expense. If we fail to support the suppliers, they won't be there one day, and we will be making all our own materials, and little art as a consequence.

    • @hambot
      @hambot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't tried egg tempera but yes they are as you described! I loved using them

    • @murraykriner9425
      @murraykriner9425 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hambot I'm very happy you enjoyed using them. I thought the idea intriguing since many folks will like the novelty of having a media which is still water-soluble & nearly permanent without the odors that are common with Alkyd or Casein pigments that require rigid supports like the Egg Tempera will require to prevent damaging the work when flexed. Most people have used Egg Tempera as it goes under another name of Poster Paints used in Showcard Sign painting trade. Been a joy talking about these things with you since I gave up the working in the Artist Trade Business years ago. Take care of yourself.

    Your painting turned out beautiful as usual! 💕 btw, i bought an acrylic gouache retarder from artwhale ph and it does help to keep the paint from drying too fast. It also helps me blend colors better. you might be interested to try that out. They also sell individual tubes of acrylic gouache (Turner brand) with a wide selection of colors. 😊 I do agree that acrylic gouache is easier to use for beginners. I also started using regular gouache first and it's still challenging for me so thank you so much for your gouache videos! I learn a lot from them ❤️

    May I ask some questions regarding this paint ? Does it have a very strong scent ? Would you have to open windows while using it ? Also, what is the best way for a complete beginner (never touched actual paints) to learn the process of painting ? I'm considering classes because I can't follow online tutorials well but any advice is worthwhile. Thank you for this video. I really felt like I wanted to try these paints when I watched the video.

      I've never used this particular gouache, however, I've tried 2 other (decent quality) brands. Gouache doesn't have much smell! You shouldn't lick it of course, but there's no bad fumes or anything. The same goes for acrylic paints and watercolors! No fumes or gloves are needed usually. Oil paints can have fumes and need to be used in a ventilated area, some people might use gloves. I hope that helps! Have fun with potential classes :)
