  • Welcome back folks! Today we're talking the difference that actually preparing for encounters and problems can make in Pathfinder 2e! As obvious as it sounds, having the correct tools and consumables can make a huge difference. Until I see you next, live a wonderful life!

You failed to mention the king of preparation - the alchemist. This is really where the class shines.

Nice vid as always, and on a pretty important topic that I feel get a bit ignored, and that can be quite challenging as a GM to handle, at least IMHO.
1:34 My players really dislike consumable. But finally I had the opportunity to be a player alongside them while I traded seat for 2 sessions. Level 11, you got quite a big of cash that I decided to blow on consumables.
Showcased the great usefulness of using talismans (Owlbear claws, 3GP, are great if you don't have the crit specialization), and potions thanks to the potion of quickness and of flying. Had in stock all the swimming-related potion if necessary.
And finally, made a nearly-impossible fight (by GM admission, for narrative purpose) far more easier by just using one pouch of Dust of Appearance (50 gp, nullifies a bunch of invisibility and illusion related stuff with NO SAVE). We could really feel the tide of the fight turn when I used it. Felt awesome, and now I know my players are digging inside treasure vault and others.
3:30 While I usually play on the loot at hand to help them I still kinda suck at the info thingy. But I think I found a nice way to better handle this, inspired by a one-shot where I tried the infiltration subsystem (really nice BTW), with less time constrain so they can use downtime, and letting my players know upfront they can research and scout in advance, and possibly accumulate bonuses for when they go ahead in the dungeon.
Having someone (or something) that can give them some info be either at hand or defined so that they at least consider the option is nice.
I hope you have a nice holiday season!

Regular PCs having a couple of alchemist fires for dealing with swarms, is helpful.
