    I’m 67 years. I was always keen on learning the upanishads for a long time. Now that I’m retired, I started to search for them on TH-cam. A friend sent me this link. And I’m very thankful for having landed here! Please keep up the good work!

    Thank you very much for this! 🙏🏻 I have the Upanishads on my Kindle but longed for a somebody to teach me how to read it and grasp its essence. I'm glad that that teacher is you. On many other topics that I've learnt from your videos as well. Loved your talk on the future of Sanskrit usage as well. You are on the right track. All the best!

    For this verse, Śrīla Prabhupāda translated "jagat" as "everything animate or inanimate", which seems to me closer to reality, because animate means given the appearance of moment, and matter actually gives only the appearance or illusion of movement, not that matter is actually moving. The evidence and how that works is concisely explained in "What is prāṇa?" at Shabda Blog.

    • @Prasannakumar-jl8pi
      @Prasannakumar-jl8pi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Another interpretation of Jagat is ,ja meaning getting birth and gat means gone . That is the world as it gets birth and death

      @crypton_8l87 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Even the so-called inanimate things are in reality - animated. They take birth, they continuously move or change, and they get destroyed.

      Moving means it goes through the stages of creation, maintenance and destruction. Anything that is immortal and exists beyond time and space is considered to be God Himself.

    Vairagya is a state that produces a feeling of aversion for worldly objects. At this stage person's mind, senses and idriyas are completely purified. Even the comforts of paradise have no charm to such a man.

    In essence, this shloka conveys that the creator resides in all of us amd everything that moves, even the inanimate objects on a molecular level move so the creator resides in them too. So we are a part of everything. Therefore we should not be tempted towards other's wealth or be jealous of it.
    Instead work on ourselves and be happy with what we can achieve. Or give up on the materialistic life and seek the ultimate truth.
    P.S Kindly correct me if I'm wrong

    I have a question for Hindus: What do you think about Buddhism and Jainism? Do you see them as being part of Hinduism, sister religions, or something totally different?

    • @JustMe54328
      @JustMe54328 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We have similarities regarding rebirth, karma. And the ultimate goal is to break free of this cycle and never get a physical body again. - moksha
      So Buddha offered a path to do this. Jain tirthankaras offered it, in Hinduism too there are ways to do it.

    Many Many Pranams to You Sir,
    I have a question to this.
    The mantra says that Everything is pervaded by the Creator. So if everything is pervaded by the Creator, then Who am I? Where Am I? Where do I exist? Even my Being is pervaded by Creator. So where does this I/Mine come from? Is this the Ignorance that we call? Is this what the Rishis call Maya which does not exist yet it seems to exist? Is this "I" the ignorance?

    • @dharmorakshatirakshitah4729
      @dharmorakshatirakshitah4729 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pranam Arya,
      AQT to Bhagavad Gita,
      The creator is PARMATMA which pervades (resides) in everything that moves and in the universe whether its a living or non-living, everything is moving, So, Parmatma is everywhere.
      U r the ATMA (Soul) and this soul is ur identity. U r niether the body nor the mind, but u r the SOUL. Atma comes from Parmatma like as photon particle come from Sun. U r a part of the Supreme Parmatma (creator) and u reside in ur body. Like a driver drives a car, the same way ur soul drives ur body.
      Now, both Atma and Parmatma reside in ur heart. But the Atma by coming in contact with Maya does not acknolwdge this and thus engages in material pleasure and remains in bondage of this material world. The moment the Atma turns towards the Parmatma, all the maya vanishes and then onwards the atma (you) indulge in the service of the Parmatma (creator) and as a result u get free from all the bondages and maya.
      This is what i have understood by reading Bhagavad Gita. But still i will request SIR to reply this comment and correct us if needed.
      Dhanyvad

    God manifests as the universe (I don't support God is all pervading.It looks something told in reverse order).
    Everything that we see is mithya - changing permanently.So what is yours Today,will be that of somebody's tomorrow.Hence donot try to covet /usurp others' wealth.
