The Kennedy Center Honors is an annual event celebrating lifetime achievement in the arts, Heart is performing for Led Zeppelin who is being honored, both bands are mutual fans of eachother, they bring Rober Plant to tears, the drummer performing with them is Zeppelin's original drummers son, they are wearing the bowler hats as a tribute to John Bonham who passed away.

The Kennedy Center Awards have beengoi g on since the 70s. It's devoted to honoring cultural achievements in performing arts ...music, dance, acting, singing television and movies. The presidents and first ladies attend. It's a great event. The Trump years changed that...without getting political just a statement of a fact. I don't think Mr Video wants the negative.
There are some other Kennedy Center Honors performances @MrVideo should see. Tributes to Bruce Springsteen by Melissa Etheridge, Billy Joel by Brendan Urie and Carole King by Aretha Franklin come to mind.

Also, a rewatch knowing that Zepp is Anne and Nancy's all time favorite band,and biggest influence, and have been performing one Led Zeppelin cover in every concert since the 80's , is one of the only bands Led Zeppelin has ever fully endorsed covering their songs, they share a huge amount of respect for eachother as artists, Hearts cover of Battle of Evermore, mind blowing.

Those guys are Led Zeppelin, watching Heart perform their song. They were being honored by the Kennedy Center. Kennedy Center Honors are a big deal and a great show, usually an annual event, usually with the President and First Lady in attendance.

Hands down the absolute best cover ever. Imagine the pressure of performing the signature song in front of one of the greatest bands of all time who are present at your performance. Not to mention the presence of Barack and Michelle Obama dozens of stars including Bonnie raitt and Yo-Yo ma just to mention a few pressure live performance are you kidding me? And they freaking killed it just slayed it.!.!
I read an article that was done with Heart and it said that Heart only practiced this for about 30-45 prior to the live performance!!! Now that tells just how talented Heart is!!!!! Unbelievable!!! Phenomenal performance!!!

Hottest musical video on YT probably. Heart sisters were bringing it. Back up vocals and choir were off the wall. Bonham Jr and guitarist were awesome. Just an incredible production overall for the living legends ( mostly) to see and enjoy. The camera of course kept focusing on the remaining members of Led Zeppelin themselves.This was no little gig. This was a monumental masterpiece delivered to some masters of their own.
The arrangement of this performance is genius.
I never noticed this until this time, but Robert says Oh My God to JPJ when the whole choir comes out with the boilers on. Still love Jimmy's face during the come out of the solo.
You stopped it a bit soon- The last few seconds you see Jason (on drums) salute Zeppelin and they did back to him- as well as Heart- Sooooo- had you known that was Led Zeppelin themselves watching in the audience .. it would have put an even better spin on you experiencing this- just letting you know- Led Zeppelin have been legends for decades- this is when they’re older- so you didn’t recognize them- Robert Plant all serious.. then getting tears always gets me for sure-💜✌️

Heart did such an excellent cover/tribute to Led Zeppelin but they have been playing Led Zeppelin songs for decades at their concerts

The Wilson Sisters( Heart) are singing in a tribute to Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center. They were always huge fans of the Zep. Imagine having to sing this in front of Led Zep who wrote the song!
Also, lead singer Ann is about 60 here.
FYI: Love ya to death!!! I watch this reaction almost every day and every time I catch myself screaming "those old guys are Led Zeppelin"....automatic reaction I guess!!!💜🎼🎶🎵🤟🥳🥳

Summing it up in one long ass comment. Every year, since 1978, the Kennedy Center hosts a program honoring people in the performing arts (doesn't have to be music) Example this same year David Lettermen was also honored. This was 2012. I've seen dancers, artists etc also honored. Except for the last 4 years the President and first lady also attend. They bring on people to honor the honorees. Either by doing some of their songs, some jokes, a speech or whatever. The ones with the colorful ribbons around their necks are the ones being honored. In this case you see the remaining members of Zeppelin who are the "who are those guys" Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones. Heart (The Wilson sisters. Ann singing and Nancy guitar) They weren't the only ones who did a tribute to Zeppelin during this but very obviously the best ones! Their drummer John Bonham had died and as a surprise to Zeppelin his son was there on drums.
Over the years there have been some epic moments at the Honors but this one...in my opinion.....is by far the very best.

He has reacted to Heart a couple times- Also much younger Zeppelin- I think he gets confused when people age , etc. and they no longer look the exact same- (a lot of folks just aren’t good with faces once they’ve aged) being as these bands have been rocking for decades-so if you watch something of theirs from the 70’s/ 80’s and then see then now- he doesn’t realize who they are cause they’re older and look different-

That was Led ZeppelIin watching Ann Wilson singing and her sister Nancy Wilson the blonde on the acoustic guitar of the band Heart ❤ The sisters and Led Zeppelin have been friends since the 60s and still are. Led Zeppelin is John Paul Jones bass guitar, Robert Plant singer, Jimmy Page lead guitar, John Bonham drums RIP. The man playing the drums is Jason Bonham the son of John Bonham RIP . John started teaching his son Jason how to play at a very young age, and the drums Jason Bonham is playing are his fathers, and he is wearing his dad's hat. I think it was great that they had the back up singers wearing a hat just like the late drummer. I think John Bonham would be very proud. I wish you would have watched the ending, but you cut it off. This is Heart....a very talented sisters...Ann and Nancy.....they are one of the first female rock and roll groups in the 70 and 80’s.I listen to all their stuff.Judy D.
