    Warms the heart to see my flag standing proudly in the wind. And that boat is also something else, even an old traditionalist like myself can grasp the practicality of a boat like that. Finnish boats earlier tended to be very enclosed as the weather is what it is but in later years different kinds of more open boats have more and more become popular, the first ones that found their ways also abroad were propably the Buster range (alloy boats by Fiskars) and of course Targa which are not open but they have a lot of open outside space also. Axopar embraces some of the same ideas with a very modern twist. And they really look like no other boat, many find those looks appealing and so do I. They look fast and for this type of boat that is not a bad thing.

      It's a huge waste of a 45 foot boat. There isn't much cabin space, there isn't much exterior space. It's a lose lose just to have an aggressive look. Compare it to a center console and a express cruiser, it has nothing that they can offer.

    I have always thought up until now that Axopar produce great adventure vessels, had an advantage making great fun boats and ones that make superb chase boats. But they have missed the mark with this one, yes it is eight feet longer but what advantage is that over the 37, not a lot as far as I can see. A sliding wet bar if you need a dining area of a sensible size, crazy idea and when slid to against the pilot seats makes it unusable. I hope the cabin ceiling is padded, if have a nightmare during the night you will bang your head on it. I hate to think how cramped the aft cabin might be. As for the toilet, a joke They need to get a decent space and interior designer on board and ditch all the gimmicks. This boat is close on fifty feet long and whilst I understand that Axopar are not competing with the likes of Sunseeker, Princess, Pearl and other similar manufacturers they should look closely as to how they manage space and interiors. Even though they think that by opening the wide doors, and they are overlapping, and roof makes it airy it doesn't, it all looks so clumsy, contrived and claustrophobic.

    • @pheebs818
      @pheebs818 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually, the design is innovative and gives you the best of both worlds. If it's space and accommodating interior you want, buy a princess or sunseeker. The point of the sliding bar is to have more accomodations after you cook. Geez , so negative

    • @johnpeel6601
      @johnpeel6601 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pheebs818 Gimmickry is not being innovative. I thought Galeon yacht’s were the master of gimmickry but Axopar now take this sad accolade.

    • @rykehuss3435
      @rykehuss3435 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You dont understand what this boat is built for. Its not a floating cocktail lounge like a Princess or a Sunseeker. Its a functional boat. Short height and low center of gravity keeps it very stable in rough seas. Narrower beam helps fuel economy and makes for a smoother ride. Downside is the lack of interior volume compared to something like a Princess F45. This boat can safely take off in weather where not a single Princess or Sunseeker is out there. Its a boat made to be driven in almost any weather, any time.

    Really good looking platform, but I'm not a fan of how this one was outfitted. Seemed quite crowded in the saloon area - feels like the large table should have been installed cross-beam rather than lengthwise. Wish there was better finishing in the rear cockpit. Why is the grill inside? That seems like a weird choice. Love seeing the variety though, Nick!

    • @rumanuu
      @rumanuu 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreee mostly, however the grill is inside as this boat is more for Northern European climate and is meant to be used in all weather and temperatures, so an outside grill would be a no no!

The variation of "layouts" and access points are nearly INFINITE. Sliding the entire side of a cabin's external wall to expose the interior - just for the fun of it - OMG. I love the Axopar boats for their hull design as it handles the rough seas well and is good for speed and turns .. however they are failing miserably when it comes to the interiors .. this big 45 version is a testament to what I am saying , it has no space in the cabin and they can never seem to get the toilet right .. even the galley layout is poor so not a good weekender .. for £500,000 there are many other boats that offer and do a lot more then this boat .. Axopar is struggling with the interiors and I think it has something to do with the hull design .. great boat for the day but not at this price point .. just my opinion as a boat owner for the last 14 years ..

But they aren't at all and the additional cost is rather high in comparison. Great boat with the speed and manoeuvrability but for half a million I would want something that's better suited for more than a quick night or two.Apart from the helm and engines everything looked a bit cheap too

    I have been eagerly waiting for this kind of review on the 45 and I must say I' disappointed. I need to sleep five in three berths and this is not closer to that than the 37. It seems fairly odd that a vessel requiring at least a 50' slip can't even sleep four people without giving up basically your entire cockpit. If your "adventure" happens to be fishing, crabbing or shrimping, I guess your SOL with Axopar.

    Another head scratcher is the anchor deployment...you have to unlock both anchor lockers before deploying the anchor...an unnecessary step in my opinion. I like my anchor unobstructed and ready to deploy from the cockpit, if necessary. Agree on the indoor location of the cooking surface...just seems they are doing too much in a tight space. One more observation is the front berth/living area...such a large area to have a wet bath...this needs to have a separate head/shower for a 45'. Otherwise, great boat!

    - Place the kitchen thing at the back and outside, with a prolonged roof overhang above it.
    - Move the seating area a bit towards the Helm and have the table with telescopic leg, for transforming it into a guest sleeping area
    - have a seating area for 4 to 6 at the very back and a high stern board, to eat at the outsides. Also with telescopic table, to have it transform into another sun bed.
    - prolong the beach area aft the stern board, so you could jump down/ climb up from the sides of it. Big enough to carry a jetskie
    - add wooden yacht flooring, because it’s nice. :)

What they need is to make something like this, but with 4 even sized micro single cabins. (maybe 2 in the front, 2 in the back) Something that 4 guys can go out out in, and have a nice private bed. I love the outboard motors and the nice sitting area around a table to play cards. the kitchen could use a bit more for longer term stuff. I've never been on a Silverton so I can't really comment other than to say that it looks like a nice roomy boat. 🙂

    What an amazingly adaptable boat. So many configurations, so much choice. That’s one pretty rapid boat too.

    Axopar ordering sure seems to be like: Boat=250k (nice price right?). Steering Wheel=50k, Seats=15k, Motor=50k, Paint=15k, ......the options are somehow removed to show a low price but it's not even a working boat. I'm maybe missing something as no other boat manufacturer I know of does it that way.

    I read where Axopar says 50+ kts top speed. This would be a great boat on the Gulf of Mexico or Florida to the Bahamas...we need some AC though. LOL It would be great with the grill and sink moved outside. Great boat and tour. Thanks Nick.

    I would not have a grill inside like that no way! I would have a sliding bench seat with a fridge or something but not a grill the would live outside the yacht. but great tour Nick "CHEERS!"

    Practical with speed, very adaptable upper cabin with opening doors and balconies a very sociable area with grill fridge. In some boats you can have a second bed and heads. S
    I like the idea of choice. The lower cabin gull wing doors makes the cabin light and airy with quite a spacious shower/toilet area.
    So many options depending on owners requirements. The ride was exciting I wish you were allowed to do this more often to really show what it can do.
