I always like watching these videos. I became disabled 7 years ago and my physical abilities are much diminished, I can't really do anything demanding but what I like about your videos are even if yiu guys are more physically capable you treat each other with respect even if someone is struggling (like with the sit ups). I wish i had people with this kind of encouragement at any point in my life, always been judged when I can't push myself even though I'm not capable so I like the respect and way you and your friends are always so sympathetic to the differences in people's abilities. Thanks it's nice to see there are nice people somewh e re out there th a t don't judge people because they realize even for professionals perfection is unobtainable.

I'm sure you're putting all you've got in whatever exercises you're doing, and that's what matters really. Stay true to yourself and nobody can drag you down, you hear? Wish you all the best!

People at the highest level are usually very understanding and helpful to others who don't have the same skills. It's the wannabes that lie about their achievements, brags, and put other people down. If you want to train in a gym, go to one where the elite go. I promise they will help you and cheer your achievements.

You forgot the equipment in the 2k run. It should be done with boots, weapon and so on. But good work anyway. Almost a swedish ranger level :) but then you do more tests, for example the para rangers do more tests and then an annuell test to be allowed to stay in the unit. Here we each year do, 50km skiing with all out equipment (very very heavy backpack), 5km open water swimming with our equipment, 20km with combat gear under 140 minutes, 10km running under 45 minutes and the most famous test, the eagels marsh.. 60km march with a lot of tests followed with 10km orienteering (if you do a mistake you get a second chanse to do the 10km all over again) and everything has to be finished within 24 hours. :)

I did 15 months in Swedish army as a section leader. Each morning during line-up there was a mandatory fitness exercise for 20-30 minutes. During first month my guys struggled with getting 30 pushups and 30 sit ups among other things. One or two month later they didn't even complain when I started counting backwards after reaching 30 😅
So now you may wonder what kind of special forces we were.
This was just a medic section with some lazy boys that didn't bother much about showing how tough they were with a gun.
My proudest moment was when a guy in the section won the battalion shooting contest!!!
Yes we reminded the rangers about that many times 😆🤣😁

  • @Norqvistm
    @Norqvistm 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

When I did my military training in northern Sweden we did all those tests. But we did them in a slightly different way. situps and push ups were with a beep, but it was beep for up and then beep for down. if you didnt manage to keep up, you failed. and the extension hold we did it at around 40cm height, we tied a floorball to a string, and then tied the string to the chest. If the ball touched the floor, you failed. The classic BEEP-test was the same I believe, there are several passes on one level. so it isnt that the time between beeps are shorter for every beep. If I remember correctly there was 4 passes between every level. After a the lower levels you are basically flat out running between the cones. the vertical jump we tied measuring tape to our waist and then sort of taped the measuringtape to the floor and measured the difference on the tape after the jump. We did 400m swim and then 200m clothed swim. the 2000m run we ran with gear. Boots, AK5, helmet and the combat vest stuffed with empty magazines but I think we had 11min to finish to pass the test. All this was back in 2007 so things probably has changed a lot since then

You got some details wrong in the test sadly. Firstly you normally only do one of the conditioning tests and personally i have never seen anyone do or been offerded to do the swim test in the army i think that is a navy thing. Here are the few things i saw that was wrong or not 100% correct
Pushups, you need to go down on the first beep and then stay down untill the next beep when u can come up again.
Situps, firstly here you cant have anyone holding you feet down, you can however extend them so youre allmost laying down when going down and then bring them back up as you go up but if doing this your heels cant leave the floor. Also same here as the pushups go up on one beep and down the next.
2k run, this is where you got it the most wrong and this is also the hardest part and the one people fail at. Its known as a "fieldtest" and its 2k in boots, bodyarmor (without plates) a 5kg rifle or 5kg steelrod and a helmet. The time is kind of right, its a pass or fail test and 10:15 is the pass time for Jägare (similar to rangers) but its 12:00 for normal infantry.
Just to add most infantry bataljons i have been on has had the time of 11:30.

The trainer guy got a lot of things wrong: Nobody is supposed to hold your feet at the situps. Also that's not how the beep test is done, it's not one point per back and forth, to get a 15 you'll have to run 157 paces, and at that level you're pretty much an elite level runner. The world record is 17.
The extension hold "gold" is 2 minutes 40 seconds, not 2 minutes 20 seconds.
Also the 2000m run is supposed to be done with full combat gear, armor, helmet, boots, mags, weapon plus a 1 liter flask full of water. Without gear, the bar is 8 minutes.

The pace of push-ups is down on beat, short stay, up again on beat. The rhythm is 50 BPM. Same for sit-ups, up and down.
You are not allowed to have anyone holding your feets on sit-ups but you may extend your feets until upright, then your elbows should touch your thigh.
When you do extension hold you should have your knuckles fixed to your temples and elbows pointing out horizontally, not arms crossed infront of chest.
Fieldtest, the 2 km run, is with combatgear; uniform, combatboots, combatvest, rifle, helmet, filled waterbottle, in all about 21 kg weight. Depending on unit the requirement is between 10:15-14:15 minutes (for example Infantery units 11:35, GBAD 12:30).
We only do fieldtest at my regiment. Beeptest is for the ones who cant run in combatgear (long time injuries) and swimming is for specialized units.
Been in the army 27 years and i do Gold on these tests 😀

When I did these tests, push-ups were done with a spotter with his hand flat to the ground and you had to touch it with your chest. If you put too much weight on his hand he’d be quiet, same if you didn’t go deep enough. Every good rep he’d count out loud. The cadence was for stopping both at the top and bottom of every rep. Same with the sit-ups. Also, the flexed hold was only allowed for women or someone who served in a non-combat capacity. Everyone else did pull-ups with a spotter who counted reps. Like someone else wrote here, the 2k run is supposed to be done in full combat gear with your daypack of 20kg. There was also a life saver exercise in the water. There was a physiotherapist who tested our mobility.

The beep test rounds are not 11 times running back and forth. Round 1 is like 7 times back and forth and then it's round 2 for a few times and then round 3. For round 11 it's 106 times back and forth and round 15 there would have been 157 times.

Flexed hang is easier if you do a trick that I think is allowed in the test where you have your body pressed up on your fingers making it harder to loose grip, I mean when I first tested it in military school I was a kid who never went to the gym and weighed 83kg, I was able to hold myself up for 39 seconds (it was a ranger who recommended it to me so I'll take his word for it being allowed)

The beep test is wrong, it doesn't increase with a full level per beep but more like a 10th of a level per beep.
So it shouldn't be 1, 2, 3 but more like 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and so on. And so by that I find it hard to believe that he reached level 15 on the beep test because the beeps would come at a crazy interval I don't think that even Usain Bolt would make a proper beep test to level 15.
