39:15 I believe that dead end triggers a NPC invasion when human. Besdies the unique weapons, defeating them usually gives you something like the possibility of finding their armor or maybe NPC help for a boss.
One thing you didn’t notice about the Skull lantern, unlike a torch or other sources of light the skull lantern gives you the guiding blue lights that show you the correct path through the darkness
34:45 "Some of these are one-shots I don't understand" The reason for this is the game has a counter-attack damage bonus. If you hit an enemy during or right after their attack you hit significantly harder.
Gains his humanity to kindle and was on his way to fight Nito and I was like, "oh he's going to fight Leroy" (since he is a human), then he immediately dies by falling.
I normally dont comment, but i just wanted to say that you are the best. I am currently struggling pretty hard in my life and your channel is one of the only things that makes my day a little better. Love your videos and the effort you put in it.
in bloodborne, I remember that you freaked out over a spider on a wall in nightmare frontier, and then you never went there. That spider is actually patches, and if you go below him he actually pushes you off the ledge, right down in the poison swamp lol

It's worth noting that souls game boss difficulty has power creeped with each new iteration. When you started with elden ring you got to see that power creep at roughly its peak, so as you go back to older and older games they're inevitably going to feel easier by comparison.
I disagree I found DS1 to be more difficult than DS3. I first tried a lot of so called “difficult” bosses in DS3 but I’ve been getting my ass kicked in DS1

Tomb of the Dumb Giants is the worst place in the world. I cried actual tears panicking in the dark and rolling between stupid skeleton doggo’s attacks. I know what you’re saying about Nito - just a very whelmed boss, especially after going through hell in the Tomb. I found the fact that we had to lose half of health bar jumping into the boss room more annoying than the Gravelord himself. Thank you Mati for keep uploading - honestly it’s a bit difficult to imagine life without your videos now.

Congrats on collecting your second Lord's Soul!!!! Really enjoyed this one: the worst area in Dark Souls makes for great content. Don't forget to shoot a nice arrow at Gwynevere at some point. And final comment: Patches appears in multiple Souls games. He'll often point at treasure, only to then punish you for your greed. While not much is known about him lore-wise, some people are of the opinion that Patches is a good man, who was fed up with the greed of mankind and will set up traps to make those people see the errors in their ways. So in a sense Patches is providing you with therapy.
Well done mate! Another boss done and dusted! Appreciate the message at the end a lot too. This time of year is often difficult for people. Hope you get through it ok too.
I remember my first time here - being terrified of the dark, the creepy eyes, Patches; but the thing I remember the most is getting the feeling that I'm at the absolute lowest point in the world but then realizing that I could look down and see the Demon Ruins and Ash Lake I think that's something that was missing in Elden Ring - the world was so big that it was usually impossible to see much off in the distance aside from the Erdtree and a couple places in Siofra River
Great playthrough! Little suggestion, if you find you are supplementing your healing with humanity because you have run out of flasks, then kindle. You can always get flasks back by sitting at a bonfire, but you can't get the humanity back without drops or grinding for it. You had me screaming at my phone when you used humanity for healing. Lol. Love your content! Looking forward to the next area!
*SPOILERS* The Gravelord covenant is PvP covenant, but the Gravelord Sword it gives upon joining is a truly *insane* early game weapon, pretty low requirements with massive base damage, and you upgrade it with the Demon Titanites (up to +5, requiring a total of 10 demon titanites to max out). Remember, you _can_ get down there without killing a single boss, just as long as you know what and where you're going. At the point you're at, your +15 claymore is stronger than the maxed out G.Sword, but like G.Sword would have been the best possible choice until around claymore +12/13? Somewhere along those lines. It even has a Toxic status built-in, but it's so strong you rarely ever toxic anything with it lol. Ah and yes, the reason you couldn't enter the coffin the second time was indeed because you had no Eye of Death left. As for how the Eyes of Death work, description is pretty confusing. Basically, when you use one, you ''curse'' other human players' world by adding some empowered mobs with higher hp and damage in their world. They can either deal with it, or invade you for a chance to undo your curse. If you kill them when they invade, you get a new Eye of Death. Rinse and repeat (Tho not especially recommended unless you just really like the covenant's theme and style, since you don't need to deepen your covenant for the G.Sword, which is pretty much the only useful thing you get out of that covenant) Oh, and make sure to check out Blighttown's swamp before going deep into Demon Ruins/Lost Izalith, jUsT bEcAuSe hihihi (*SPOILER, DUH* : pyromancer npc that will despawn if you kill Izalith's final boss before talking to her. She's near Quelaag's arena entrance and the elevator to Valley of Drakes)
Love your content man! Can't wait for the next DS episode. I remember my first time going through the tomb of the giants blind, then my friend literally told me to check my inventory. I discovered that I had had the lantern with me the entire area and only discovered it towards the end 😂
🤣turning that corner, seeing a topless shade & asking "who tf are you??" right before the camera slightly turns to reveal the bonfire. hilarious timing all around lmfao
52:57 the dlc has the hardest bosses in ds1 but in terms of main story the hardest boss out of the lord souls is probably one of the two you haven’t seen
Covenant rewards require offerings, like the eye of death. It's mainly a multiplayer thing. You get eyes of death from defeating online players during invasions (they also drop from basilisks). Offer enough eyes of death to Nito and you gain a covenant rank which comes with a new spell or item. When you defeat Nito, you lose access to his covenant until New Game Plus. Most covenants work like that and mainly exist to encourage multiplayer interactions.
@Matias Gago bro, your first foray into the Tomb of the Giants went far better than my own, and was amazing to watch! This has been such a kick-ass playthrough, I went ahead and watched you play Bloodborne up to BSB. I wanna watch your Elden Ring series, but as I actually haven't finished it myself yet, I'm saving that treat for after I do it LOL!
Here I was, all set to leave a blistering comment for you to stop being a little B with all the running away. But then I got to the end of the video and heard what you said, and decided to just return the love. I work from home and it's kinda slow right now, so my days drag. Your videos always bring smiles and laughs, and make these days way better. So thank you, brother!
The lady ghost looked so real because she had her summon sign down, she was trying to help people get to and fight Neto. You just couldn't see the sign cause you're hollow.
I loved how quickly you completely dismissed the force miracle after seeing it does no damage. It's for pushing enemies off of ledges or knocking back groups so you can heal.
So glad you found a light source for the TOTG, such a pain without one. Having played the game so many times I could probably go through blindfolded (not that I’d need one considering the dark lmao) but you actually found a couple things in there that I’d never seen!
seance = "say-onts" deity = "dee-itee" or "day-itee" How are you STILL wearing that rusted ring? Direct quote in Tomb of the Giants, 24:08: "OK, I somewhat understand kinda the layout of this place a little bit better now, now that I'm not just freaking out, running in the dark." And dead. Hilarious. That "sick helmet" the dude is wearing at 27:09 is a lamp found in the Demon Ruins, allowing him to see without the Skull Lantern. There's also a spell to provide light. Congrats on getting Nito. Yeah, not the toughest fight, but in the early Souls games, like in Demon's Souls, if the challenge to get to a boss is tough, they make the boss easier. It's a kindness. You could have killed those little skellies with your Divine Club to make it even easier. You missed an NPC invasion on the way, requiring you to be human. Not a biggie, but the extra souls are nice, and the drops are good for clerics. Cool that you got to see Reah. She sells a very powerful miracle called Wrath of the Gods. You're not doing a cleric build, so it's not useful to you now, but if you ever want to do PvP in the future, that's something to consider. It wouldn't surprise me if people are interested in seeing you do some invasions and/or co-op, which is a big part of the Dark Souls experience. Love your videos. Lots more to do.
These videos have been making my evenings so much more fun. Thanks and congrats on the second Lord Soul! Keep it up, you be Elden Lord yet.... Wait... wrong game. 🤣🤣 Have a wonderful day, man.
So a helpful tip now that you have that rite of kindling. So, if you'd like to, a neat trick you can do, is kindle firelink shrine (or any warpable bonfire) to have 20 flasks anytime you rest at it, and just warp to that bonfire everytime you want your 20 flasks back! That way you just have to kindle 1 single bonfire the whole game and just warp and rest at it every time man. No one has taken my advice and done this yet, but maybe it'll help you? If not then at least I tried! 😅
FUN FACT : 7:14 actually you can become overpower in the early game using this way. Just skip and speedrun all those enemy and get the Gravelordsword and boom, you OP until mid of the game with no effort. Just need to make sure the requirement of the sword.
Fun fact, that Gravelord Sword is one of the highest damage dealing weapons in the game and great to rush at the start since it has the same requirements as the Zweihander.
The Gravelord Sword is absolutely one of the best swords in the game. Speed Runners go on suicide runs in the early game to get it. It levels up with Demon Titanite which you have a bunch of. It’s fast and wicked. Highly recommended.
A nice perk for having a high enough intelligence attribute is the spell 'Cast Light'. Then you can see in the Tomb of the Giants better than with a Skull-Lamp and have a shield at the same time.
My dumbass never knew in my first playthrough about having a source of light with me, so that place was hell; I had my face in the screen and barely saw anything. Good times!
Happy holidays bro! So after Callisto I’m actually not sure lol maybe another horror game like RE3 while we wait for the new year titles and after DS, my heart is telling me to go with DS2 but I feel like the community may want to finally take on Sekiro we shall see when the time comes
If you want to light the darkness but still want to hold a shield you can buy a Spell that lights up around you like a lamp. You can buy it from Dusk of Oolacile (the lady you save from the Golden crystal golem near the the first hydra you killed).
First play through I went in completely blind and never knew you could light up the Tomb of the Giants. Literally slow walked my way through the entire area. It was PTSD inducing

Damn this came out when I'm at work. Welp time to hide in the bathroom for 58 mins lol much love mati love ur vids
Hahaha don’t get fired brotha 😅 Much love I appreciate it!
@@matiasgago nah I like money so ye
Fun fact, that Gravelord Sword is one of the highest damage dealing weapons in the game and great to rush at the start since it has the same requirements as the Zweihander.
The Gravelord Sword is absolutely one of the best swords in the game. Speed Runners go on suicide runs in the early game to get it. It levels up with Demon Titanite which you have a bunch of. It’s fast and wicked. Highly recommended.
"The eyes chico....they never lie..."...bruhh😎 nice....best movie ever!
A nice perk for having a high enough intelligence attribute is the spell 'Cast Light'. Then you can see in the Tomb of the Giants better than with a Skull-Lamp and have a shield at the same time.
48:01 “I think I know the way…” 😂😂

My dumbass never knew in my first playthrough about having a source of light with me, so that place was hell; I had my face in the screen and barely saw anything. Good times!
happy holidays g, what are you thinking of playing next after ds and callisto?
Happy holidays bro! So after Callisto I’m actually not sure lol maybe another horror game like RE3 while we wait for the new year titles and after DS, my heart is telling me to go with DS2 but I feel like the community may want to finally take on Sekiro we shall see when the time comes
25:51 the eyes chico...
If you want to light the darkness but still want to hold a shield you can buy a Spell that lights up around you like a lamp. You can buy it from Dusk of Oolacile (the lady you save from the Golden crystal golem near the the first hydra you killed).
Hell yea, upload time couldn't be more ideal!
Noice 😎
