One, I must be overly emotional today, but seeing the visuals and hearing this song again, I almost burst into tears.Could be fatigue on how messed up the world is currently, but when I hear this I really think it reminds me of “Imagine” by John Lennon, love it.
This song has always gotten a lot of hate from the fans, but I’ve always found it to be charming with a great message. Have a great weekend, you two! 🥰🥰
Interesting madonna video the images in the video is sad and heart felt but the beauty of nature is amazing !thanks lovely ladies for your reaction to this powerful madonna video message ❤️
Aww, thank you! ❤️❤️ "...the images in the video is sad and heart felt but the beauty of nature is amazing" Exactly - It really showed the best and worst of what our world is. Big hugs to you! ❤️
Bonsoir!!! It's a song we must listen with tissues.... It hurts me everytime because 17 years later.... it's worse. Madonna is so human... i love when she used her celebraty for saying a deep message about our mad mad mad world.... 😢 With so much love from your little frenchy guy! ❤
Bonsoir! Completely agree with you - It's painful to realize how much hasn't changed in all these years (And as you said, it's worse in many cases). Sending the biggest hugs and lots of love right back to you! ❤️❤️
Such a beautiful song and still so relevant as always. Thank you for reacting to this. We all need this message today. Given it was mad for Live Earth, the criticism from so called seems unwarranted.
Thank you so much for watching with us! And we definitely agree, this song is still very relevant today (unfortunately). Sending so much love your way! ❤️❤️
The message is strong and still relevant today. It makes me sad to see this in the world we live now. Let's not give up on hope. Can't wait for 'Live Earth'.
This song was a free single promoted by MSN back in the day. Not available commercially in physical format, it was downloadable through that website. Fans didn’t receive this song so well and it’s one of her most underrated singles
Each time i hear this song, i love it even more. I remembered the release after Confessions, i was not impressed initially 😅. The performance of the song really elevates it.
This was the final version of a song that Madonna had been writing and re-writing for many years. The first was with William Orbit and it was titled "Little Girl" in 1999 during sessions for what would become the Music album. I prefer that early version, and it's a waltz(!) and another song about Lola. The song came up again during the Mirwais sessions for Confessions and this time it was called "Keep The Trance". This time it had a big fat wobbly bass and a lot of energy. EDIT: I was thinking about "Little Girl" and how good it is, cop a load of these lyrics, "Hey, little girl when you grow up, don't make the same mistakes I did. Learn to be strong, all on your own, then nothing and no-one can harm you."
Very interesting! Thank you for sharing the info about Little Girl, especially those lyrics... So beautiful. We'll definitely have to check that one out (and maybe have some tissues handy 😉). Biggest hugs and lots of love to you! ❤️❤️
Hi Brenda and Emily I’m o glad you are going to listen to her live earth performance- I think the song and her vocal was better live. Her set was so good. She looked like she was having a lot of fun, much like confessions. I think you will both love her modern twist on an 80 classic.
Madonna throughout her artistry has been sounding the alarm over many socio-geopolitical-and humanitarian issues. Here she joined the climate change campaign led by the Alliance for Climate Protection through the series of Live Earth benefit concerts in 2007 by writing this song and co-producing the music video. She’d only performed this live once during her London leg of the Live Earth global concerts the goal of which was “to move individuals, corporations and governments to take action..” about the degradation of the environment, the massive industrial emission of pollutants that’s causing global warming and climate change, and its severe, existential impact on humankind and wild animal habitat with focus on the future of young generations of children who will inherit this earth. Kevin Wall, Live Earth founder, said: “We are thrilled that Madonna donated her art to Live Earth and is part of this movement for us..”. Madonna has performed/been involved in over a dozen large and small benefit concerts for various humanitarian and other worthy causes. I think the criticism she received for this song is misplaced and unwarranted considering it wasn’t her intention here to profit or entertain nor to please the pop music world by writing this as another danceable hit, or great ballad. The underlaying sentiment of this song is essentially-let’s do something about this problem for the sake of the children-it’s based on an appeal to love one another and our natural environment. And I couldn’t help thinking, her adult version of this call was her 1992 Erotica era song-Why’s It So Hard-and her beautiful passionate performance of this song during her ‘93 Girlie Show Tour with her dance ensemble. ❤your sensitive insight and reaction to this video. Thank you always.😊
Thank you so much for being here! ❤️❤️ And thank you for sharing that background info on the Live Earth benefit concerts - Love that Madonna is always willing to lend her support to causes that are dear to her. "And I couldn’t help thinking, her adult version of this call was her 1992 Erotica era song-Why’s It So Hard-and her beautiful passionate performance of this song during her ‘93 Girlie Show Tour with her dance ensemble." What a great observation! And completely agree about the similar messages. Sending lots of love to you! ❤️
Love this song her vocals are great on this track ...She has a song called Revolution ( Not to be mistaken with Revolutionary Heart ) ...The song is a powerful song that was part of the leaked demos of Rebel Heart album , it was amazing and it never made into the album and then it was deleted from all music channels, I've been trying to find it ever since to no success, its so upsetting because it would've been a number 1 hit for a protest song .
I’m pretty sure this video you’re reviewing is actually just the backdrop from her performance Live Earth. It’s much better live. Regardless, it’s a lovely song. She sounds so angelic. My fingers are crossed that you were able to post the live version without being blocked 🤞🏼 Have a lovely day 🌍 💙
"I’m pretty sure this video you’re reviewing is actually just the backdrop from her performance Live Earth. It’s much better live." Ah, okay. Can't wait to see that live version! ❤️❤️ Hope you're having a wonderful weekend - Much love ❤️
Can't think of a joke that hasn't been made about Hey You in the M Community, but all jokes aside, I think it's sweet. By the way, this little number is co-produced by Pharrell Williams, the first of many songs created by the two.
Unfortunately, this isn't a song critics or many fans enjoy or like. I sorta get why some don't like it, but like you guys mentioned, she sounds so sweet and the focus was and should be about how we are destroying our planet, day by day.. I think for some fans who know the background of this song, preferred the the original demo "Keep The Trance (check it out if you haven't already) as she borrowed some of the lyrics to use for this song. As always love your reactions. Can't wait for your reaction when watching her Live Earth performance. It's almost an extension of Confessions, yet a little hint to what's to come for Sticky and Sweet regarding La Isla Bonita.
Aww, thank you so much! ❤️❤️ "I think for some fans who know the background of this song, preferred the the original demo "Keep The Trance (check it out if you haven't already) as she borrowed some of the lyrics to use for this song." That's understandable - And we'll definitely have to check out that demo version too. Thank you for letting us know! "Can't wait for your reaction when watching her Live Earth performance. Hi. It's nice to see you reacting new songs. I have just remembered a song released in 2007. Annie Lennox wrote a song called Sing. There were many female singers taking part of it, Madonna having a special participation. Others are Anastacia, Isobel Campbell, Dido, Céline Dion, Melissa Etheridge, Fergie, Beth Gibbons, Faith Hill, Angélique Kidjo, Beverley Knight, Gladys Knight, k.d. lang, Sarah McLachlan, Beth Orton, Pink, Bonnie Raitt, Shakira, Shingai Shoniwa, Joss Stone, Sugababes, KT Tunstall and, Martha Wainwright. Here's the link. th-cam.com/video/wut51EcaZYM/w-d-xo.html and if want something more uplifting th-cam.com/video/Q8IFavUR3L8/w-d-xo.html. Greetings from Argentina.
Thank you so much for sharing that info with us - It sounds like an incredible song (thank you for the links as well!)! Sending lots of love to you in Argentina! ❤️❤️

I’m a 40yr fan and any “Fan” who hates on this song, is exactly who she’s singing to, show’s the toxicity of her fan base.
I ve got to be honest.
As a music, I dont like It. But THE lyrics are top notch ❤
This is the beginning of the whole “this album is trash” because it wasn’t Confessions Part 2
Hope you have a wonderful weekend too - Much love to you! ❤️❤️
@ -Thank you , and you too!!!
She also collaborated with Annie Lennox on a song titled Sing, a benefit song for HIV/AIDS research/education - especially girls - in Africa.
I almost forgot this song 😅. Thanks for the reminder
Oh, the song that made Annie go mad! Actually, the remixes. All djs gave Madonna a solo in the second verse, which was not Annie’s intention at all 😂
Thank you for sharing that with us! We'll definitely have to check that out! ❤️❤️
Another wonderful reaction. 💯 Thank you also again for continuing to post. 💥💥💥
Aww thank you so much - You're very kind! Lots of love to you! ❤️❤️

This video shows exactly what capitalism has done to the world, very sad. A hug girls.
Definitely a hard video to watch... Biggest hugs to you! ❤️❤️
Agree..reminds a "slow motion" DEAR JESSIE.
Good lyrics, but as a song...its boring 😬
❤️❤️
The video to hey u bothered me . Especially the tiger being murdered . I had to skip this song. But I picked up after this.
Completely understand why it was hard to watch! Big hugs to you! ❤️❤️
love madonna but i hate this song lollll
So maybe you can love the message 😊
@ i find it too sonically abrasive for some reason but the message is indeed wholesome
The message/images are indeed still very much relevant in almost 2025.
Comparable to Michael's Earth Song ❤
Can definitely see the comparison between the two - both such profound songs! ❤️❤️
