- One of the biggest Cupsets of recent times, Mickey Thomas and Steve Watkin score inside two minutes to help the Fourth Division strugglers beat the reigning First Division champions, Arsenal.

Some interesting parallels with the Hereford-Newcastle match in 1972. The BBC don't bother sending one of their main commentators because everyone is expecting an easy win for the away team. Especially after they get the first goal. But then... a scorcher of an equaliser and a scuffed winner turns the score around for a truly seismic upset. The hosts' first strike becomes the goal of the season and becomes the most replayed moment of Tony Gubba's career, as it did with John Motson 20 years earlier.

We were chsmpions in 91 to,i waa 14 but remember this well.Was sore at the time,now its brilliant,the old magic of fa cup,when fa cup was really special.

I’m not an Arsenal fan, but this video omits Jimmy Carter’s injury time equaliser that was disallowed for.... no one knows!

It was disallowed because Paul Merson was standing offside when the free-kick was taken (that was the rule in those days.) You can't see it on the BBC coverage as the penalty area is out of picture as Seaman takes it but you can see it on the club video Wrexham brought out which used a different camera. It was the correct decision. As Tony Gubba says on the BBC version "The flag went up the moment the ball was knocked in."

..As an Arsenal fan, this was one of the most painful and humiliating defeats ever for me. I still want revenge lol, I know it's 25 years or so later but I still want some sort of payback for this day!
