Dead space 2 was already a great game, but this could be EA's one chance to improve the Tormenter. Just like how they improved Mercer. The remake version was so much better than the original because he is more involved in the story rather than a small, unimportant side villain. And his death in the remake is top notch compared to the original where in that version, he just gave up after everything up until that point. What makes Mercer's death better in the remake is the betrayal he felt when the nercomorphs finally got to him, screaming "I was promised" as he was dragged away by the so-called "devine beings" he worshipped.

@@jackattack1319 Mercer is a downgrade what do you mean ? dude barely acts like the crazy unitologist with the crazy speeches from before and his death way worse than the original in every single way in the writing. His original death was scarier and much morel likely to be his ending than that disappointing death in the remake. ''uninportant side villain'', yeah if you exclude all the logs, all the dialogue (which is far better than the remake mind you, which fits mercer way better and does a way better job to show how much of a crazy person he became because of unitology). The whole promised stuff is garbage, because he always believed the marker would ressurrect and save everyone, that death for everyone was the key. He didnt fear the necromorphs or death and loved them even when he was about to die, it truly shows how much of a zealot he was and makes a bigger impact than him simply being a pathetic scientist that doesnt truly believe in what he is saying. Mercer being afraid and with such a non-scary/creepy death that shows how crazy unitology can be was a insult to his character and a downgrade in the history sense.

I suggest you to don't have hope for a remake... the first one hasn't sold enough. They even refused to do dead space 4, as well...
