      @@BlueStarNutraceuticals Most guys do not take care of their skin (face or body). Bodybuilders must take care of their skin because developing the body means skin has to stretch to accommodate greater muscle size. David is over 40 and it's clear that he does put effort into protecting his skin, and that's great! (But I doubt it's Argan oil! There are excellent less costly options.)

    • @BlueStarNutraceuticals
      @BlueStarNutraceuticals  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We've got a bunch of great core and ab building workouts already on the channel. Just like any muscle group, you have to train them for strength and size - so incorporating weighted resistance exercises and improving weight/volume over time.

  • @chrissys.9312
    @chrissys.9312 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've made it a tradition to do a hard core work out on my birthday every year. I will definitely give this a try as it looks challenging, yet fun. Thing is I'll be 56 next year and can't see myself doing 56 reps even at half the weight but I can still do as many as possible. BTW, is there a female formulation of the GH Peak?

    • @BlueStarNutraceuticals
      @BlueStarNutraceuticals  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome to hear Chrissy - It's certainly a great way to kick off the year. Remember you don't need to do all reps in one go, if you have to break you can - just don't take longer than 10secs before getting back at it. And females can take GH Peak as well.

  • @derbillster

    I don't know if I can do what you suggest at 71. Right now, my warm up is on the CX2 rowing machine where I row between 2 and 4 kilometers. I can row one km in 4 minutes and 34 seconds; always able to row 2 km under 10 minutes, and can row 4 km in 18 minutes 55 seconds. Then I go do a few strength building exercises with dumbbells. Goblet squats, commando rows, Arnold Press, curls, Scot Press, Squat thrusters, etc. The loads vary between 8kg and 20 kg. I either do 4 sets of 8 reps or 3 sets of 10 to 12 reps for each exercise. I'm usually able to do between 6 and 11 exercises before I quit. I'm not in the shape that you are in, but then again, I'm about 30 years older than you. I don't take supplements because I am not a chemist. Do I have to do 71 reps at once for what routine you suggested, or do I have to do three or four sets at 71 reps each? I'm not complaining. I just want to understand how to get the maximum benefit from the routine you are suggesting. ☕️🍩😎

    • @BlueStarNutraceuticals
      @BlueStarNutraceuticals  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You want to do the reps in as few sets as possible, but whatever it takes to make it through every rep. So if you have to do 10 sets of 7 reps, that's perfectly fine. The goal is simply to push yourself and aim to improve over time! Keep up the great work 💪

    1. So if someone's age is 25, they will do the first exercise (squats) 25 times before going to next exercise - deadlift. I mean we should complete all the reps before even going to the next workout. Is it?
    2. 10 seconds breaks are allowed before we complete those 25 reps of squats.
    3. 2 minutes rest allowed between squats and deadlift exercise
    Please confirm if this is correct.

    • @BlueStarNutraceuticals
      @BlueStarNutraceuticals  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should rest as little as possible to complete the number of reps for each exercise. You are allowed 2 minutes rest between exercises. Aim to complete the entire workout in under 35 minutes.

    Just want to know 2 things
    1. if this is a HIIT workout because doing some of the HIIT exercises from James Johnson this week
    2. Also we need to complete first exercise of 30 reps before going to 2nd exercise. Is it ?
    Did that James HIIT today and wondering if I can try this age workout tomorrow. Do let me know.

    • @BlueStarNutraceuticals
      @BlueStarNutraceuticals  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is not a HIIT workout. With HIIT, you have intervals of high intensity and intervals of rest. This is simply a high volume workout challenge to test your strength and muscular endurance, and the goal is to get through it in the shortest time possible. To answer the second question, yes, you complete all reps for exercise 1 before moving on to exercise 2. If you feel well rested and ready to take on a challenge go for it. This is not meant to be done on a weekly basis though or as part of a regular training routine. This is a challenge to test yourself and measure your progress with over the years.

    I only have Powerblock dumbbells and am getting an adjustable bench. Do I really need a barbell / power cage to get a great athletic physique? Or what other equipment should I get? I’m in an apartment, and can use my living room if needed for more.

    • @BlueStarNutraceuticals
      @BlueStarNutraceuticals  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A bench and dumbbells will be great to get you started. Having a rack and barbell with freeweights really helps once you get to the more advanced stages and can be easier to overload your legs, but you can still get some great results with just some dumbbells and the adjustable bench.

    • @BlueStarNutraceuticals

      This workout should only be done a few times per week. Generally you should mix up your workouts so that you're training each main muscle group about twice per week with adequate rest times between. Wouldn't recommend more than 5 days per week of weight training, or you're likely not going to be getting enough recovery for the muscles to repair.

    I'm sorry some of this workout isn't acceptable. I can max out on bench at 300lbs. that means I need to use 75lbs in each hand and I'm 56 years old. So I need to do 56 reps. The guy doing this video was using 40lbs dumbbells and we guess his target is 44 reps since he stated he was 44 years old. Why am I doing far more reps at a much heavier weight????

    • @BlueStarNutraceuticals
      @BlueStarNutraceuticals  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Chris. Well first up, it's not equivalent to go from a barbell bench press to half that weight in each hand for dumbbells. Bench Pressing 300lbs with a barbell is much easier than flat dumbbell pressing 150lbs in each hand. So you will want to adjust the weight according to your dumbbell bench press max. And yes - the whole premise of this workout challenge is to continue getting stronger and improving as you age.
      It's easy to let things slide as we get older but we must not submit - we need to fight back against father time and show the young guys how it's done!

I do work out I try very hard to keep my head still and my form very tight so I don't aggravate my neck and then need to recover for a few weeks. • @BlueStarNutraceuticals
      @BlueStarNutraceuticals  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you listen closely, it says to do the same number of reps as your age in as few sets as possible. You are not doing all 59 reps straight through in one set. The idea is simply to push yourself and challenge yourself based on your experience and conditioning. If it takes you 6 sets of 10, that's great. If it takes 3 sets of 20, also great. All depends on your experience. Hopefully that helps clear things up Walter. Thanks for watching brother!

      Hey brother - the whole goal of this video is simply to motivate you to keep puttin in the work and showing the young guns you can still improve with age. If it's not for you, that's cool. You are not required to do all the reps without rest, you can take short rests as needed - the goal is simply to not stop until you hit the set number of reps and to take as few short breaks as possible. Only time will tell, but you can bet your ass when I hit 62, I'll be giving it everything I got to hit those 62 reps 😉💪 Keep training hard!

      @@BlueStarNutraceuticals Sorry but the whole concept is counterintuitive.
      This isn't like the difference between 20-year-old and a 25-year-old.
      A 50-year-old man should not be doing twice the reps of someone half his age.
      There's a point where that just becomes dangerous and stupid.
