Set during the French Revolution in 18th-century Paris, Assassin's Creed Unity follows the story of Arno Dorian, a young man whose life is shaped by tragedy and the tumultuous events of the era.
After witnessing the murder of his adoptive father, François de la Serre, Arno is falsely imprisoned. While in prison, he meets a member of the Assassin Brotherhood, who recognizes Arno's potential and guides him toward joining their cause. Upon escaping, Arno dedicates himself to unravelling the mystery behind François' death and fighting the shadowy forces destabilizing France.
As he grows into his role as an Assassin, Arno discovers that the death of his adoptive father was orchestrated by the Templar Order. This pits him against his childhood love, Élise de la Serre, a committed Templar who seeks to avenge her father’s death. Their conflicting loyalties test their bond as they both strive to uncover the true instigators of the chaos in Paris.
