You were quite lucky to have only seen one adult ghost leviathan in the void. The 2 times I went to the void, I came across groups of 3 and 5 adult ghost leviathans respectively.
to progress you will need to go to the lost river. A very important tip : Lost river is made out of few subiomes these are the ghost forest its where the tree with the child ghost leviathan is swiming the other is the bone smth I dont remember its where the huge gargantuan fossil is and the most important is the cove tree its a giant tree but around it only ghost rays swim so its safe and there you can find the most nickel ore as for more details I will let you figure them out . Oh and also you can find nickel in the lost river but the most nickel is in the cove tree
also imo perimiter defense system is better than the torpedo upgrade since the perimiter defense system works on the reapers & ghost leviathans so if the reaper grabs ur seamoth u can get it away
I’m back( Iv been here since day 1) Here are more tips A: the place you found with no ground is called the void and home to 3 adult leviathans B: if you want to leave I would say that you should make a run for it C: the green water place is known as the lost river and home to crystalline sulfur and nickel( u need cyclops and prawn suit drill arm and grapple) these items will save your life
Tip from me: The roars you heard were from a fish called a reaper, which can deal 80 damage and give you and your seamoth emotional and physical damage.Gun it, and take all your defense stuff out so you don’t lose it in case the reaper attacks. If the seamoth is grabbed, leave it. Nothing is worth trying to save it in this situation. Depending on what biome your in, you a bit safer. If it’s the mountains near the island, yeah it’s over. Those guys stay to the floor like it’s their damn life support. If it’s the dunes, you may have an oppurtunity to escape due to the fact the reapers usually stay pretty high up. Stay to the floor, and leave. As for the ghost I have no damn idea how it found you, but I’m assuming you are pretty close to the blood kelp, and sometimes the ghosts leave their areas for some reason. Just stay away from it. Hope this helps in the worst or best case scenario!

those ghost leviathans u saw are adult ones, but they only chase you when you are in the void biome and btw dont worry abt the sonar spam in the void, i actually liked it bc i couldnt see much either when u werent using the sonar
the only thing you need to worry about is the reaper beacuse the ghost was nocliping though walls and he cant get to you because he cant leave the dead zone
most people wait until beating the game before exploring the craters edge. im sure if your seamoth could go further you wouldve, but i can wait until you get your cyclops first.
