    Great video... but india has very less jobs in MNCs and the startups provide very narrow skill growth to freshers and this domain demands more work from office.. and the salary startups provide to freshers is very minimal. I have experience of 2 yrs in this field. Most of the students from electronics branch opt for devops,sysadmin,IT jobs which is a better option because of the struggle in embedded domain. This domain reflects poor R&D situation in india.

    Do embedded software engineers also work on smart devices doing things like ML or computer vision?

    • @embeddedinventor4594
      @embeddedinventor4594  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These days a lot of smart devices include tech like machine vision and machine learning grouped together with embedded systems. Though the job of embedded software engineer does not involve writing algorithms for these tech, but they usually have to work closely with the person who does that!

    • @alternateuniverse656
      @alternateuniverse656 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@embeddedinventor4594 or so who exactly does write those algorithms?

    • @cronchcrunch
      @cronchcrunch 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alternateuniverse656 Whoever applied to do that specific job. There isn't any one specific job title for it.
      Try checking on job finder websites for ML engineer job postings and see what the companies in your area/country list as requirements to get the job as different places will want different levels of expertise and skills.
      You need to do your own research on these topics, since the answer depends on where you live and where you want to work.

    Beware that this video is fairly irrelevant. The first things I was asked is what do you know about testing Bluetooth and WiFi transport protocols, what do you know about USB certified compliant testing. Ie how do you validate a hardware appliance at the transport layer, and how do you flash firmware on a device. Test methodology is irrelevant if you don't have these hardware skills

    • @embeddedinventor4594
      @embeddedinventor4594  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment, but this video is about the "Embedded Software Engineer" role but the questions you posted were all related to a "Embedded Software Tester" role, which I am afraid is not the same.

    • @HCL991
      @HCL991 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@embeddedinventor4594 @whitewittok's role description may look like a SW tester role, but it's a developer's responsibility to fully test his implementation before releasing for review, system integration and system testing or system validation.
      Unfortunately, testing is rarely mentioned in dev job descriptions and thus many devs don't have enough skills in testing their own written code.
      For me, a must-have skill for a good and experienced sw dev is to know how to test their code.
      Do you have a video on that?
