    Thank you for the historical and beautiful video! It took me back to the 70s when I hiked Tuckerman Ravine, Lion's Head, and Boots Spur trails over the years. I have such an affinity for the ravine!! Very exciting that you saw the moose (and handled it well!)! Even at this age, I still have a goal of hiking there again. Thanks again for sharing. Love your videos! 😍

      Glad you enjoyed it! When I am out there I often stop and think about the generations of people. We each go out and discover it all over again.

      Did you go to Hale back then? The good old days when it had views.

      I have never done Hale. 😕

    This was excellent! I know exactly where you were the whole time and I totally know how much you want to savor the Bonds! Good work here.
    I also filmed Bond Cliff, but it was early in my career haha. I've come a long way.

      @RachelWhelton  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes! Thank you! I hope to get there again someday. It would be fun to go there and then over to either Zealand Hut or Galehead, just taking my time. It's like you want time to slow down when you are up there - no rush to come back again.

    I was doing the Kinsmans on 8/1 and saw those jets too. Did you see the gliders as well? They were flying around Franconia Notch. What a day of weather it was!

    • @RachelWhelton
      @RachelWhelton  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wasn't sure if I saw a glider or not. I might have been back in the trees when the gliders were out. Yes, the best weather that day!

    Great job. It stinks that you were socked in on the Twins…nice views there, too. The rope made me laugh! Never saw it before.

      I have a feeling I will revisit South Twin someday together with a Galehead hut revisit. Your videos really helped me plan parts of this trip!

      @@RachelWheltonWe actually had a Bondversary. July 22 2013 and then a couple years later, same date.

    Awesome video! Thanks for the tour. My friend and I are taking our teenage sons on essentially this exact trip. If the weather was warmer, would you have gone for Zealand while you were out near Guyot?

    • @RachelWhelton
      @RachelWhelton  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For me, Zealand would have been all about the question of distance and energy, not so much the weather. If I go to the Bonds again, I would consider doing the "Z-Bonds" as they say, where you avoid that long long route out to Lincoln Woods by instead going out to Zealand. If you have 2 cars, then you could begin at North Twin or maybe Galehead River. So many options! I chose that route because I liked the idea of going one way without backtracking.

    Thank you for sharing that adventure! That dip, and pizza was well deserved!

    • @RachelWhelton

      Yeah, that pizza was quite the splurge but I knew it would make a forever memory of the trip. I brought the rest home to my family and they had already eaten pizza!

    That's a unique way to tag the Bonds. Like you way you went (more potential views) and a night at Guyot campsite better than the all day suffer fest doing Lindon Woods to all 3 bonds and back in 1 long day. Glad the trails were less muddy/wet for you guys (I did the all day thing 2 weeks back and the water/mud on trail and challenging water crossings really slowed things down). Really like your many videos to the huts and now camp sites. They provides a nice preview to all when we go there after you.

    • @RachelWhelton
      @RachelWhelton  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the excellent comment. Yes, I see many suffer-fest people out there. I admire that style. But at this point in the aging process, I cherish the slower pace, more meals, sleep, and water opportunities.

    What a rainbow 🌈 you were blessed with ! Great job once again !!! I need to get that section of the pemi so maybe I’ll stay at number 8 😂 thanks for another great video !

    • @RachelWhelton
      @RachelWhelton  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. Yeah, it's far out there. I need to get to Owl's Head at some point and that endless Lincoln Woods trail is hard to sign up for again.

    What would you say was your most memorable trip ? You seemed to really like the twin - bond traverse and Mount Carrigain has a special place in your heart 😂

    • @RachelWhelton
      @RachelWhelton  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, the Bonds because they represented impossibilities overcome. I always wanted to see Guyot and that camping experience was great. Anywhere with an overnight is so cool because you get more time out there, plus sunset and sunrise, and more food. The hut experiences were also very memorable. I'd go back to any hut.

    • @RachelWhelton
      @RachelWhelton  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, you know I had to get that pizza for the memory. I heard "food is memories." I brought it home to the family of course. But now I will always remember how I felt at the end, and how that pizza seemed like the best food of my life!

    You were very blessed to have such a beautiful second day, though you had to pay for it! I did the Bonds 2 weeks later and all I saw was the inside of a cloud for 20 feet in every direction. The blueberries were still ripe and tasty. And what a hoot! Guess what I was thinking of all the way down from Bondcliff....pizza!

    I've had that same face many times after crossing that bridge to the parking lot. Was that GH Pizza?

    • @RachelWhelton
      @RachelWhelton  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It was El Greco Pizza. Popular place! I don't usually go for huge foods but I knew it would make for a special memory to end the hike. Plus, I brought home leftovers to the family. Tasty stuff.
