I took my 22-year-old son to the bins today. Guess what he found in the book bins-a cookbook by the inventor of the TollHouse chocolate chip cookie! Written in 1930 and signed by her! I have always wanted to go to Salem! You are so lucky
I guess I should add that Ruth Wakefield (invented of TollHouse chocolate chip cookies and her husband ran The Toll House Restaurant, south of Boston in Whitman, Mass. All the recipes in the book were dishes she cooked in the restaurant. Eventually they retired and the place burned down and there’s a Walmart and some other place there. The Company which makes the chocolate chips agreed to always print her recipe for chocolate chip cookies on the package. She invented the cookie after wanting to improve her peanut butter cookie by adding pieces of semisweet to the dough. Lori, I know you probably know all this but thought other people who watched your channel may not know it. Have a good week!
I’ve only thrifted and sold 2 Barefoot Dreams items but they do well for me! I had the same sweater and size as yours but mine was in a heathered indigo color…sold for $67 and I had paid $7.99!
Looking forward to the American Girl doll video! I’ve had Kit since I was young and I have multiple bins full of clothes/accessories… can’t wait to learn about the value of it all!
We've been to Salem! It was such a cool place to visit. I bought a Barefoot Dreams on ThredUp. Had to return it. I swear they previous owner dried it on high heat or something. I was so disappointed. I was watching yours and seeing how soft it looked, how it just melted into your hands...sigh. I am still on the lookout for a proper one for myself. (or to flip if it's not my size or black, lol)
Lori Salem is a great area and the whole time watching it I was thinking you need to invite Jack and Ryan to come out for an October visit, they would love it since they're so into Halloween.
As I'm sitting here watching your video wearing one of my Barefoot Dreams Cardigans the reason we can't find it very often is because people don't give it up until it's completely matted and even then they are still super soft . Unless mine get completely destroyed I'd never give it up .lol
I think this is my favorite video so far! I love Halloween and this looks like a great thrift place. In another video you mentioned how much you love Shitt$ Creek (who doesn’t? Lol. My 95-year-young mom LOVES that show), bf and I went as Moira and Johnny Rose this past Halloween 🎃❤️
Thanks for the memories😃. My youngest daughter graduated from Salem state and they have family and friends weekend in October. It was soooo much fun, I miss it.
For those of us with grown children, we stay very far from Salem during Oct lol. I live in the next town. I do Thrift there during other months tho lol
Very nice! I lived in Salem for 9 years when my children were young. When you live there it's crazy! The month of October feels like a tidal wave. When my son was 3 he wanted to be a witch for Halloween, how appropriate that was!

Lifebridge was always one of my favorite thrift stops … but I’m not hitting it lately since I moved to reading. The ladies there are so nice and it’s for a great cause!
I love American Girl! I remember my mom ordering a doll through the catalog for me. It looked nothing like me since I have strawberry blond hair but i loved her. And my grandma made me scarves so me and my doll could match. ♥️
This was SO much fun! I love when u do something a little different :) I can't wait for the American Girl video! I got Samantha when I was little (the very 1st original one) and I think my Mom still has her for me somewhere but I've always loved dolls. I'm actually an avid Barbie collector these days after starting up during Covid just to "rebuild all the dolls I had in my childhood collection" and it has already gone way beyond that. It seems like, as an adult, I have so much more appreciation for them than I did before and it's actually really fun! I've never been further east than New Mexico lol so one day I'll have to take a trip back east it looks like fun. Thanks for this video! 🥰😍❤🙃😉

Hi Lori! Loved your Salem thrift haul. That is such a fun town. I just sold the exact Barefoot Dreams item you picked up in a blush pink color. I listed it for $60 and it sold fairly quickly for $42. Hope yours goes quickly also. Thanks for always posting such fun and helpful videos. My son lives in Canton (just got out of the Army last month and got a job in Boston) and I am coming to visit him next month. I am definitely planning on doing some thrifting while I'm there and who knows? Maybe we'll run into each other! I never miss watching your videos. Thanks again.
Looks super fun! In my English class for school, we are reading the crucible which is about the witch trials in Salem. Super cool to see videos of what they do in October there! I also have those sorel boots listed lol! Great finds and video!
Some of the prices for clothes seemed pretty high for a thrift shop. 15.00 seems high to me, being used, etc. I go to thrift stores but NEVER pay over $5.00 for a used top or sweater.
Wearing my barefoot dreams cardigan i found at the bins with no size tag,i found 2 other ones that sold last year but haven’t found any since and am unsure if the market is still high for them ,love them..,,so so soft!o can’t stop rubbing on them
I have a barefoot dreams hooded jacket in my closet that I found in the summer and it has gotten some attention and I think one or two low offers but it hasn’t sold yet. I have mine listed at $50. Hopefully it’ll go full price this winter 😃
@@LorisBostonFound me too I want to see what all the hoopla is about how soft it is . I was walking into Lowes epping Nh and I saw a woman walking with a Louis vuitton logo bag . She saw I was looking at her bag so I asked was it real and she said yes and I said can I touch it ? LOL she said yes so I did she must have seen by my face that I was not impressed ( and I wasn't it felt like hard plastic)... she assured that is what they feel like and it was indeed real and leather .. oh well
My boyfriend lives in Salem now, so being an avid thrifter I tried out the Lifebridge thrift too! Higher prices than used to, but a Patagonia better sweater for 15 and an Ugg robe for 20! Can't complain there! You should try out the Savers and Goodwill in Danvers! They're a hit or miss but definitely worth the trip for a change of scenery! :) Happy thrifting Lori!

The largest procession in North America is here. I am looking forward to learning about AG dolls. I'm not sure I've ever seen one.
