I honestly find a review that puts the Xbox brand headset at number 1 hard to take seriously. Aside from the obvious content taken from other TH-cam review channels.
Oh how I wish Microsoft would fix mic monitoring on the wireless headset as it would be the best, especially for the price. Sadly, it has a fatal flaw: the mic monitoring is basically not there even on the highest setting. Not sure they even bother with a mic monitoring level adjustment when the highest level is indistinguishable from the lowest. If you don't mind yelling all of the time because you can't hear your own voice from the cans blocking out the sound, you're good. If, like most people, you prefer talking to people online rather than yelling, this is an instant deal breaker. After using them for over a year waiting for a software update to correct this I finally gave up. The Stealth 700 by Turtle Beach being #2 is a tough one for me as I'm using them right now and have been for about a year now. You're correct in the audio (both the speakers and the mic) are great. The build quality is meh, at best. They're solid at first but quickly (within a few months) develop lots of creaks and pops. I even had one snap at the part where the cup meets the headband and I'm very careful with my devices. If you search online you'll see that this is quite common with most of the Turtle Beach lineup. The biggest problem with the Turtle Beach headphones though is the connectivity. The USB dongle is a 50/50 proposition at best. Half of the time when I power up the headset it doesn't connect to the Xbox (Series X) properly. When it does, sometimes it will start to cut in/out randomly as you game. Seems to be some serious interference issues which is interesting since all devices near it are hardwired as I try to not use WiFi whenever possible to avoid this exact type of interference. Because of this, I'm looking for a new wireless headset that connects directly to the Xbox w/the need of any USB adapters. At this point, I think the Steelseries Arctis 9x and the Audeze Maxwell at at the top of my list for next wireless headset. As I stated initially though, I really do wish that Microsoft would simply fix the mic monitoring issue. Several years later and they haven't so they clearly don't see it as a problem. I think that if the boom for the mic were slightly longer it would resolve the issue possibly. At it's current length, it stops at my cheek and maybe blocks the mic port. Maybe those with (much) smaller heads have a better time? Who knows. Thanks for the video though. I think it's a solid review of the options but it's harder to know the more longer term issues like I described. I wanted to posted my longer term experience with your #1 & #2 options to provide more data for those considering them.
My prayers have been answered! Microsoft quietly unveiled a second generation version of their OEM wireless Xbox headset and it completely fixed the issue(s) I described above. I've had it about a week now and I couldn't be happier as it's everything that I wanted in a wireless headset for about a hundred bucks.
I got a new stealth headset off ebay, the headset was 5 until 2 months in and the Bluetooth randomly started disconnecting without sound and randomly dropping the games sound too
I’m having connectivity issues for the Razer Kaira headset. Like it keeps disconnecting and connecting again and I need help with it, replies are appreciated
I have the TB Stealth 700 Gen 2 and it disconnects a lot and the sound crackles all the time. The chat volume is also a huge problem everyday with thinking that is on 0 when I'm trying to hear my friends. I don't think I'll ever buy another Turtle Beach product ever again.
I have the TB Stealth 700 Gen 2 too and it has convinced me to never pick up or waste money on another TB product. They are unreliable and the transmitters are fragile asf (not completely wireless)
I’ve had my TB 700 G2 for around 2 years now. I haven’t had any issues at all. Had the 700 G1 before that for a few years. Before that I had the PX60(I think that’s the name). That was old PS3 days. Prior to that I didn’t have a headset 😂 I’ve tried razors, Astros, and a few others. TB has been the best for me.
For xbox and pc i dont care what anyone says the xbox headset is 10/10. So stupid they stopped making it and replaced it with trash. There is a reason it had almost 5* review on amazon with so many purchases.
Never ever ever get the stealth 700 gen 2 it has a massive issue on most versions of the headset (seriously the amount of complaints online about this issue are insane) the top audio dial that controls all audio will just straight up not work. Mine worked the first time i turned it on. I turned it off plugged it into my pc to update it (there wasn't an update it already came updated) and when i turned it back on to use on my xbox the top audio dial just didn't work anymore. Never recommend someone a turtle beach headset they are built like shit.
turtle beach 700 sucks! Always distorted. my 600 without a dongle was so much better in functionality but quality sucked and i Broke them trying to adjust the head tension
You are so correct, this review left a bad taste in my mouth since he didn't know what he was talking about. When my 600 broke, I thought I would upgrade, then dongle and always cutting off no matter how many bios updates I performed. Turtle Beach 700 Max 2 was the worse purchase I have ever made, would rather wear my duc taped 600. Now with the Steel Series Pro, will see how they work tomorrow.
For the people thar want to get the razer kaira pro just know that you can't control it on xbox only on Playstation and PC. The sound good put is weird with its connection Reply if need more answers
There is no way I would ever recommend the XBOX Wireless headset to anyone. I’ve had it for about 18 months and as an “older” gamer, i really look after my stuff. So while the sound and basic functionality has been good - it has been completely undone by the shockingly poor materials and plastic used in this headset. I mean, i have a stand for the headset, and one day, I looked at the microphone split in two. So used some tape to hold it together. 6 months later, went to take the headset off the stand, and lo and behold the sound button had cracked, and fallen apart! But Why!!! It wasn’t thrown across the room, it wasn’t misused, or left for anyone else to cause this. The thing has just begun to disintegrate before my eyes! Better to spend my money next time and fork out some more $$$ and buy something better built, reliable and fit for purpose than this piece of crap!
Man there’s no way you aren’t getting sponsored in some way or you’re just deaf to real sound man. Disappointing review to say the least with how the comments are all in agreement with your very biased opinions

I heard the new wireless Xbox headset fixed the mic monitoring?
@@fancypants989 Yes and it works, unlike the original version.

Same happened to me so idk why people recommend them so much
Same here. Had them for 3 years now and they're starting to do the exact same thing as you mentioned.

I don’t need the headphones to connect to my phone… I can just play Spotify on my Xbox thru my headset.

I have the official 20 year anaversry xbox wired headset and it's got a lot of issues. It's simple yes, but it's not quality

I can't hear myself on my Kairas. I swear i used to be able to.
mic monitoring 😊
The Xbox headset headband just randomly snapped on me👎🏽
How is Audeze Maxwell not on this list???
This guy is a troll. I know you didn’t place that tiny uncomfortable Xbox headset at number 1
