Kerplunk, Toss Across, Don’t spill the beans, don’t break the ice, ants in the pants, hands down, boggle, parcheesi, trouble, head of the class, concentration. Always got games every Christmas. Ahhh, the 70’s.
I loved it too! Even that Woolworth special, Chinese checkers tri. We played em all! Kerplununk my parents hated! Pick-up-stix, and Jax I'm still good at!! Oh 52 card pick-up! Hat toss, so many that I miss! Thanks so much for your comment 😊
I,was born in 1957,and grew up in the 1960's. Since I was growing up 👆 and played Monopoly,Twister,Operation,Checkers,Chinese Checkers,a lot of the other board games. I,remember Family Game Night.
I grew up in the 70s, but we played many of the same games. As young children, we played Candyland and Chutes and Ladders. When we got older, we played many of the games you mentioned as well as Parcheesi. There were some other games we played such as Pay Day! and Bonkers. There were some two player games as well, such as Stratego and Battleship.
Anybody else remember the card game Pit? I grew up playing it with my parents and siblings. It's been a tradition in my family to play it whenever we get together. It's a fast paced game where you trade cards. It gets loud and it's so much fun.
Thank you for the memories! Our family loves playing games! We have owned every game you mentioned, over the years, except Square Mile- never heard of that one! Loved Careers Game! Still love Scrabble! I remember playing Probe, do you? Games do bring people together. Our local neighbors get together on Friday afternoons here. Our multi- generational family loves to play Canasta, Farkle, and many of the games you mentioned.
Parcheesi, Life, Sorry and Payday were some of our favorites as well as Dominoes, a pack of playing cards scrabble. Bakgammon was also a forgotten game.
Back in the late 70s and early 80s, me and my cousins would all love to play TROUBLE when we got together at my grandmother's house. That was one of the best games ever! So many fond and fun memories playing board games. Now, we all sit around with our phones shoved in our faces. Sad times.
Battleship. Chutes and Ladders. Candyland. Mousetrap.Husker Du. . My Dad bought a Monopoly game in England, and the street names were different from the US version. As I recall, Monopoly had a short version, and a longer variation.
We had a cabin the the mountains when I was a kid. We didn’t have TV, radio or phone, we only had electricity. We played cards and board games at night or read. Our Monopoly game must have been one of the original games, it had wooden pieces
I love playing board games. Sadly, i can't find people who want to play them these days. Clue, Risk, Scrabble, Life, Monopoly, Twister, Sorry!, Operation - played them all. As for the rest of them...never heard of them. I am happy that my son and his family play games together. Battleship was an old favorite. And my granddaughter loves Sorry, Connect Four, Candy Land and Shutes and Ladders. She's 6 so she's outgrowing Candy Land and Shutes and Ladders but hopefully she will be interested in other games as she gets older. And Yahtzee will always be a favorite!
I grew up in the 60’s and the only game we had from this video was Operation. We had Aggravation, Battleship, Game of the States, The Last Straw, Checkers/Chinese Checkers, BINGO, Jeopardy and Dominoes.
The board game i remember playing the most as a kid was Wahoo. It played a lot like Sorry. Each player had four marbles that you had to move around the board to your home base. You had to roll a six to get a marble onto the playing field. If you jumped over another players marble they had to move that one back to the start, so you could be one roll from winning and boom, back you go. The game we had was homemade, a 2'x2' plywood board painted green. It was very fun and we played it many many times.
Aha! I thought the two girls playing Scrabble looked familiar! They're the British group The Caravelles! Lois Wilkinson and Andrea Simpson! I was just listening to a block of their songs recently! As a family with six kids we had a cabinet in the garage with a bunch of board games in it! An oddball companion to Scrabble was a game called "Numble" also played with wooden tiles that none of us really knew how to play! Haha! We also had both Mouse Trap and Fish Bait games - the latter of which is largely forgotten in time but fun to play because it built another odd contraption!
With the exception of Twister & Sorry, i played a majority of those games at one time or another with family members. Rounds of Risk & Monopoly can get a bit verbal at times for me, but it was fun. 😁
Anyone remember, Aggrivation!? In the 80's we revived game night with in our family with UNO. Later the New Upgraded Scrabble board that was on like a lazy susan.😊
We also played Shenanigans from the TV game show, also The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Game, along with Hangman, Barrel of Monkeys, James Bond Game, Othello, Obsession, Dark Tower (one of my favorites), Hands Down, 1313 Dead End Drive, Mystery Date, etc....
Mystery Date, Kerplunk, Headache, Battling Tops, Go To The Head Of The Class, Password, Yahtzee, Monopoly, Skat, Backgammon, Uno, Mastermind, Rummikub, Checkers.
Still love to have Game Night! I’ve played all of these games in the first half of the video, except Risk..the games in the second half of the video, I’ve never heard of..probably my favorite is Clue!
Dang we do not play board games anymore even though my dad has a game and he's wanted to play for a while. When I was a kid Candyland and hiho cheerioes We played GOL on the computer but as a teen i only played board games with my mom or cousins.
I remember playing Monopoly with my family when I was a kid. One of my brothers always had to be the racecar or he wouldn't play. My mom didn't care which token she used as long as it wasn't the flatiron. ("I hate ironing!) My dad would use the shoe. ("Give you a kick in the pants if you try to cheat!") I was always the top hat, so when I started to go broke, I'd turn it upside down. ("Brother, can you spare a dime?") Lots of fond memories.
Wish I had my original Snakes & Ladders game, -rare since the name changed to Chutes & Ladders. Other family fav`s were Easy Money (similar to Monopoly) & Stock Ticker
Much like Monopoly, if you played "marathon" games of Risk! that lasted hour after hour then you weren't playing the game properly or with much skill at all. Risk and Monopoly are my two favs and both are classics, head and shoulders above all others.

Yes, all of the above were great fun to play. I also played Stratego which I was rarely beaten.
@@bp39047 I remember the name but I never played it. Maybe my brothers did.
@@bp39047At 7:01 the people are playing Stratego!

Great games
Love all those games in the 80's. Bonkers and Payday were 2 more of my favorites.
My daughter and I were just looking in our game/puzzle closet and she said she wanted to play Payday so we'll probably play it this weekend.😊
We still play board games at our house! Just last night we played Aggravation, Sorry, and Skip Bo (card game.) So much fun!😊
Can I come over? 😂

Monopoly! I played this just about every weekend with friends! Groovy game. 👍🏻
With the exception of Twister & Sorry, i played a majority of those games at one time or another with family members.
Rounds of Risk & Monopoly can get a bit verbal at times for me, but it was fun. 😁

We play Aggravation quite frequently. It's a fun one!
Got a copy
Does anybody remember the Beatles game called FLIP YOUR WIG? It featured John, Paul, George and Ringo. We played it every Saturday afternoon.
Many of these games existed before 1960s. Omg.

Easy mony is great
There were a few. But the number one favorite was always Monopoly
I loved Cat’s Eye back in the 70s, but have never heard anyone mention it by or show it in a video.
Parcheesi! My family used to have some mad competitions with that game.
I told Santa I wanted an Operation for Christmas and he didn't know what I meant .

I liked Sorry & Scrabble.
