They always want it more, packers players continue to go out there and get outplayed purely off effort it’s the little things that matter are players don’t seem to have the passion the lions do
Yes. That game was so frustrating to watch for lots of reasons. Packers have made pretty bad use of timeouts the past couple of seasons imo. The coaches' challenge in the first half was another. Never gonna reverse the on field call there. On a positive note, we were almost 5/5 in the RZ & we lost a close one against a very good team who we will hopefully get a shot at again next month. I still believe we can win v any team, especially if we are close to fully fit
😂 no we won't, they went toe to toe with a shell of the best team in the league and couldn't finish the most important drive in the end zone due to a penalty. This team will fail just like they do every year under Lafleur.
By the way the bears went toe to toe with Detroit when they had more healthy players than the packers game. This game showed more than anything the packers can't win big games that alter the season.
One coach had his team ready to play and we have Matt! The sad truth is this team has topped out with Matt. We will never reach the Super Bowl as long as he is the coach, I promise! Go Pack Go
What type of game plan was that for Matt Reed thrown to once and love only with 7 throws entire first half against a team missing half of the defense Matt needs to be fired as packers coach that game plan was dumb his play calling is ass got jacobs and all he wants to do now is run the up the middle everytime i on first down

I mean seriously what did you expect him to score 40 I mean what is even realistic here You're mad at the offense? The defense couldn't get a stop when they needed one ever the entire game was the defense that cost him the game. The Lions probably should have scored a touchdown in the last drive and what if they needed to so you basically needed 40 points to beat them. Good luck with that
I'm actually fine with Jeff Hafley letting that intermediate middle passing game, as long as it gets fixed in the playoffs. I want the Packers to win the war, so if they lose this battle it's okay. I want every team in the regular season to focus on that weakness. I want the Packers' defenders to get sick of seeing that play over and over again. By the time the playoffs come around, I want our defenders to be so used to that attack that they can diagnose it in their sleep. Let the tape tell a tale that's no longer true once the Postseason starts. I want that weakness to turn into INTs in the playoffs. So, let the Seahawks, Saints, Vikings and Bears get away with it. I don't think that they will be able to SPAM that for a win against us, BUT I do believe that repeated exposure to that weakness will immunize us against it during the Postseason.

The offensive pass interference was the game changer. That wasn’t even a pick play! It was not a pick play. Just a slant where Watson ran into the defender, that’s not a penalty.
packer fan for 46 years....does everyone forget the BS calvin johnson call...back of the endzone? He caught it....dropped the ball in celebration?! NO CATCH?!! Packers have gotten waayyyy too many calls in the past.....
Bad calls then or now.... it's not the point... Every game has multiple ways to overcome. Never leave it in the refs hands.... lions were down 10 of 12 rotational starters.... Packers should have crushed the lions.
1. Every fan base boos penalties against their team. 2. You're correct that Lions fans would be complaining about the refs if we lost that game. 3. There were 2 terrible calls against the Lions that led directly to 10 points for you guys. The DPI in the end zone that took a turn over off the board, and the phantom holding call against Ragnow that led to the game tying field goal. 4. You said at the beginning that the Packers did a lot to lose the game. That's the only thing I care about.
This defense makes me cry. So many 1st round picks. They never stop em when you really need it. I knew it was going to be bad when they started off with 3 straight drop backs for a quick 3 n out. Love isn't going to win a game dropping back 40 times a game. I will say on a positive note Watson is learning to catch the ball! I would like to see that fly route 2 or 3 times a game.
Packers are done imo. They were playing against a 2/3rd string defense. This late in the season, Love looked like a deer in headlights. Our D line is useless and we absolutely refuse to defend the middle of the field. Absolutely terrible. Also, escort stokes out of Wisconsin.
Done is an exaggeration. The lions defense is still good regardless of 2/3rd string defense. Their coaching and next man up mentality is elite. Love had a good game. We don’t defend the middle of the field cause of a lack dbs. Everyone just gets cooked and we don’t get pressure on the qb. Lack of pressure on the qb will allow everything over the middle of the field
life is about the averages.....calls come and go....a non call is not why they lost.......packers could not beat a lions team with 10 of 12 rotating starters GONE......

Lions fan. As you listed the referee calls that you thought were wrong, I remembered most of them, and as they occurred on the TV we commented on quite a few of them. “ that could have been holding.” or “ why wasn’t that hands to the face?” And so on. I don’t know the game well enough to understand why referees sometimes call penalties and sometimes not. I have heard it said that “ they could call penalties on every play if they wanted to” so instead, they try to balance it out and make the penalties they do call, fair. Maybe there is a home field bias as well? Maybe it is that they are underpaid and poorly trained? I’ve watched 12 minutes of your podcast so far and I think it is excellent enjoyable and accurate. Job well done!
Ill quote every Packer fan for the last 35 years... "Quit whining about the refs. Bad calls are gonna happen. Good teams overcome bad calls." Sucks to be you. You are now the Same Ol Lions Fan.
Watson lowered his shoulder into Joseph... funny thing about that call is even Lafleur said it was a penalty when he was asked , specifically saying the offensive guy has to get out of the way in that situation The refs have been bad all year but they have been bad for both teams pretty evenly in most games ( KC not so much) , including this game
Letting the Lions get a first down on 3rd and 8 after we scored off the interception and they score changed the game. The dominated us, the score doesn't reflect the game.
For all the Packers fans blaming the refs for the loss: the Packers should have gotten an unsportsmanlike penalty for jumping on the pile (in the rulebook) right before that last St Brown catch…which would have been an automatic first down….there also should have been unnecessary roughness on the Packers for a helmet to Goff’s chin on that last St Brown catch as well….also an automatic first down….there, now you can find something else to blame bc the refs were bad on both sides.
They replayed it and the replay showed it just missed his helmet like what are you on about 😂 but I agree that dumbass should have got called for jumping on the pile
When I watched it live I thought he got hit in the head, but I’ll take your guys word for it that he didn’t. Either way, Packers should have gotten unsportsmanlike for jumping on the pile which would have been an automatic first down also and we would have had the same exact end result anyway.
That 1st quarter/most of the first half was way too flat to beat a team like the Lions. The Lions are always ready for a big game under Dan Campbell. MLFs Packers seem to crumble a lot in big big games. Hopefully the Packers get another shot at the Lions this season.
Packers didn't plan for the method that Detroit rushed the Packers. The Lions needed to shorten the game otherwise they would lose. It was risky blitzing every gap but it paid off.
I'm done listening to people complain about officiating. You take it in stride. Every team deals with it equally. Focus on the play on the field. It's so under to focus on the Refs.
Lions fan here. Some observations as an outsider. (1) GB has a really nice defensive line when it comes to stopping the run. You guys are the only team this year that has shut down our run game. (2) Love is going to be an elite QB, he just needs time to grow, and your offensive line isn't very good in pass protection. Considering we had Walmart greeters on defense getting to him all game long. (3) You need a stud pass rusher badly that can keep QBs like Goff from taking a nap. (4) Your offensive coordinator needs to run more screens and motion. GB has nice receivers, but the current scheme isn't creative enough to take advantage of one-on-one matchup. Look forward the rivalry in the upcoming years. Good luck in the playoffs.
I forgot to mention move on from Alexander. Just like Baktiari, collecting his pay while riding the bench. They could have had Cooper DeJean, who's playing well for the Eagles but apparently they don't like Big 10 guys
Really cause they had veterans across the board for years under Lafleur AND LOOKED EXACTLY LIKE THIS. This is directly tied to the coach and the management who puts the team together.
It fit the script of the Lions winning. Helps their overall record and them getting the bye for the easier path to the Super Bowl, right where the NFL wants them.
What do the refs have to do with a 2nd and 17 play where the packers allow an easy first down to st brown, and they even MADE CONTACT BEFORE THE 1ST DOWN AND THREW HIM FORWARD FOR THE FIRST DOWN. This team is OVERRATED, they can beat up on bad teams all day but they will not beat the good teams like the lions, eagles, last seasons niners.
Hey, I think you have a fair assessment with your take on the game, some of the flag calling etc. But i definitely know what it's like as a LIONS fan to watch many of the janky ref flag calls the Refs would give the Packers over the Lions for YEARS... So yall gotta eat these few flag calls. Good Game
Our defense was like playing Madden on pro difficulty. Just run the same 3-4 plays and torch them for 500+ yards. Wtf were they doing last night? Lmfao
It's was not smart for T Kraft to threaten to put hands on Kirby and announce it to the world. Then Watson smash him off the WR coverage. it was not a mistake it was on purpose. Also #55 is lucky the Refs swallowed the flag when he jumped on the pile after the whistle! That 15 yards and an automatic 1st down!
Can we finally admit to ourselves that the Packers are good but just not good enough? The Packer did exactly what I thought they needed to do to win (Jacobs and Love looked good) and they still lost. So I have to conclude, the Lions and Eagles are the elite in the NFC this year.
all of us couch coaches were 1000% correct asking for more CB depth in the past draft. It needs to be addressed. Meanwhile cooper dejean looks like a future all pro
Come on. Depth is needed everywhere - and teams never have enough corners. Edge, ILB, OL. You don’t just snap your fingers and get it. At this point, trade Jaire for what you can get, because he has value. Paying way too much for a part-time player who has a penchant for sitting out the big games.

That reverse wildcat to St. Brown with the outside guards pulling field side sexy sexy play. Unfortunate loss for us but this wasn’t going to be a Super Bowl year for us anyway. This is still a rebuild team we are one or two good defensive players away from a deep playoff run potentially Super Bowl. We are very capable. More than.
Defense couldn’t stop a nose bleed. 4/5 4th down conversions. 🤦🏽♂️
Nobody was stopped the Lions
Yeah it's like Joe Barry never left at all. I'm convinced the DEF will suck as long as Lafluer is the HC.
Most wer 4th and a yard or less Stop acting like it was 4 n 6. Thie highest scoring offense in the league....
We’ll be straight come playoff time. We went toe to toe with “the best” team in the NFC. Road dogs!! Go Pack Go!
Go Pack Go
He needs to go.Kept running Jacob's into the middle of Detroits Defense.
Packers defense just suck...every years Packers defense play the same shit....
What type of game plan was that for Matt Reed thrown to once and love only with 7 throws entire first half against a team missing half of the defense Matt needs to be fired as packers coach that game plan was dumb his play calling is ass got jacobs and all he wants to do now is run the up the middle everytime i on first down
They scored 31 points against it Lions defense ahead and given 30 points up to anybody all year.
No cooper and jaire means no coverage.
Packers haven't covered the middle of the field in a decade and I guarantee it won't start in the biggest games.
@@IsaacMSingleton1At least we can finally stop the run🤣
@@michaelacker1617sometimes 😂 can't stop a guy in his tracks tho every player in the NFL carries the packers defense for extra yards when they tackle guys.
Look at the Gibbs first down early in the game that Lafleur challenged, if the packers are the team running it i guarantee the lions don't let the guy twist his way to a first down, they force him backwards. This team is soft, sure they can beat up on California and Florida teams in green bay but they can't beat legit teams
Bro yall should’ve killed our defense. The fact that yall got excuses is crazy. Yall should’ve dropped 100 points on us. The fact they forced yall to a few 3 and outs is sad.
It's always the worst something for the Packers when they the Lions... Get over it.. get better. Get tougher
Thay be holding like heck so proud of our team we fought hard keep it going on to the next one Go pack go
They*
The Packers could have won this game. I saw a lot of potential but we have to get healthier and we have to fix the stupid mistakes. Not only the loss hurts but to see Bullard and Williams go down really did suck, hopefully their ok and can come back soon.
That game was over after the 1st quarter. DET was not gonna let GB comeback and did not respect GB and why should they?
@@plastkhero If Evan Williams was still on the field, they had a chance to stop the Lions possessions. Evan Williams maybe a rookie, but he has great football IQ with McKinney.
@@reierkeemil4784 No miss me with injuries...DET was ready and GB was not. If we have multiple single points of failure then GB got exactly what they deserved.
So sad to see our defense lose us a game again. It felt like watching a joe berry game all over again. And the refs certainly hurt the packers. That game just sucked. At least they proved that they can hang with the best team in the league. Hopefully we see them again in the playoffs
The Lions had 2 starters in the front 7 the rest of the players we 3rd stringers and practice squad players Jordan Love is talented as well as the rest of the team but Love has no killer in him and that’s gonna hold the packers back
I gues this is the new norm for GB, gonna go pick out a good spot on the couch for our early exit from the playoffs.
I apologize for starting Jayden reed in fantasy, I'm the reason for his 0 yards.
This was not on Hafley. If you watch the replays, our CBs just get straight up burnt. It's aggressive playcalling with trash CBs.
The game I watched had Lions receivers running wide open in Hafley’s pathetic zone defense. It’s happened all year with no improvement. Lions 13 of 13 against GB linebackers in zone coverage. That’s of Hafley’s coaching and scheme.
I'm missing Barry@@markkovatch6180
Lions fan here. Dont want to debate about calls or try to make any kind of point here. Just wamt to say I appreciate your content and honest opinions. Keep up the good work.
Boy we need some veteran help on receivers. Look at how the lions brought in a lot of people from the streets to compete in this game due to injury. I wish we did the same with WRs and CBs
Sucks that dudes off the street are better than our starters. GB is a joke.
Yea, but they have a strong culture over there.. that's why it works . That's why every team doesn't do and works.. Detroit just has a great coaching staff and they're pissed off and all more than any other team ... Dan Campbell said it's a revenge tour for them before the season starts.. but MAAAAANN this dude actually means what he says!😅.. most coaches you hear that and you just take it with a grain of salt.. but everything this man says come to pass.. it's crazy.. maybe people should just pay attention to what Dan Campbell says.. 🤷
Bullard was just starting to step it up and was playing really well
Lions are 5-1 in last 6 games vs Pack ....say what you want, but if you go back even when Rodgers was there Lions are 13-11 in 12 yrs .....Face it Lions have owned the Packers for the last decade + LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Love Bas from NFC roundtable.. but don't say your not one to blame the refs, then proceed to blame the refs . Lame af
The Lions are smart enough to make it look like they are running a route 😂
Refs have been very shit for years. Lions have experienced their fair share of fuck ass calls. Not excusing some calls this game but we’ve definitely experienced bullshit.
13:00 availability is the best ability. Keisan has been available all year and he's played at a high level. I love jiare but idk how u can justify paying him so much if he keeps being out constantly
Agreed especially during crucial games like these.
I don't think we should bring back Watson. I know he's a gamebreaker but he seems to make a critical mistake every week and he's had 3 years to clean it up at this point, there's gotta be better players out there we can draft and not have to pay as much
That hit from zadarius to love on his head also wasn’t called
Love jumped to make a throw. Rule doesn't apply.
Don't worry. Come playoff time Smith will be polishing the bench with his butt for the lions just like he did for the packers.
@@EnemaoftheStatesad part is he would still be starting for this packers defense, so maybe quit talking shit about a guy who's better than most of the packers pass rushers. I'D TAKE ZADARIUS OVER RASHAN GARY IN A HEARTBEAT
What about helmet to helmet on Jared Goff that would’ve been a massive penalty late in the fourth. We wouldn’t have needed all the heroics.
To say to lions fans "if you were in this position you would be saying the same thing" is crazy work. Have you not seen the past 30+ years of Lions football? To say the most unfairly penalized team in the NFL "doesn't understand how it feels to have the refs against you* is crazy work.
I totally agree. This is why we need to Draft DL, DE. Everything starts upfront. We get no pass rush.
Maybe we need to draft off production, NOT intangibles, Gary LVN Quay Stokes all drafted off intangibles, all can't get the job done
It’s the same two step and read BS that Joe Berry coached. Hafley’s is Joe Berry’s clone. Nothing has changed, except the pass rush is even worse…
It sucks our whole rookie class is basically injured right now
They are all trash or injured dreadful draft
@hkewell77 worse take of all time
@@hkewell77terrible take cooper has been amazing same with Williams just say you don't know ball
@@matthewschwartz3119 cooper who’s played less than 40 percent of snaps and missed 4 games with injury what about trading Douglas for tyron hopper it was a bad draft Bullard is a bust and Williams is a project and don’t start me on Jordan Morgan
Just like the 97 Super Bowl start with a run NOT the FAKE!!!! TOO OBVIOUS!!!! WTF.
Imagine being the Lions. You have the dumbest coach in the league, who's already cost you a trip to the Super Bowl and will no doubt do it again with decisions he's made all season long. You'll lose both coordinators to head coaching gigs this offseason. You have an aging team while the Packers have the youngest roster in the league. Enjoy your hat and T-shirts for NFC North champs, because that will be your only accomplishments.
You sound pathetic
Thank you, they don't realize that this is just there honeymoon phase. They are and will STILL always be a Poverty Franchise!
We got the Coach of the yr bud what are you talking about 😂 Once we win the super bowl this season our coordinators are free to leave trust me we already got their replacements in house! Ben Johnson was our TE coach and Aaron Glenn was a defensive backs coach before we promoted him. We're finally making All the Right moves and you pack fans hate it 😂😂😂
@@macncheese2415 🤡🤡🤡😂😂😂😂🤡🤡🤡🤡 There's literally no chance you win the big game. The Lions only know one thing: losing. Save this comment, because I am. And when you fail to achieve what the Packers have (more than any team in professional football), you better believe I’m going to let you hear about it.
You guys are angry. This is such a twitter comment. 😂
I tired of people saying they played good . They almost got 40 points scored on them . Thats a garbage defense ! Its not hafleys fault. this a problem of the front offense not going out and getting a pass rusher that makes a difference!
What do you mean packers have a top 5 paid pass rusher in the entire NFL. Surely he is a great player
😂😂😂 welcome to the lions world the last 50 years. We dont want to hear no excuses. Hold that L packers. No nfc north division for you this year
Before I watch this, anybody could have won that game. I was just shocked after the result. I really thought we were going to win. I had a gut feeling all week and after that result I just froze for like an hour.
I’m sick of not having jaire. At this point I’d rather have someone who’s decent and available than good and semi available cause you end up putting someone bad in his spot anyway
To be honest we not good with pressure in the middle of the field plus we need new corners it’s sad
The offensive pass interference was the game changer. That wasn’t even a pick play! It was not a pick play. Just a slant where Watson ran into the defender, that’s not a penalty.
Williams got hurt by poor tackling he wasn't wrapping people up just running into people
Yes. When all else fails always blame the refs for losses
packer fan for 46 years....does everyone forget the BS calvin johnson call...back of the endzone? He caught it....dropped the ball in celebration?! NO CATCH?!! Packers have gotten waayyyy too many calls in the past.....
Bad calls in the past aren’t an excuse for bad calls in the present
How about Dallas 11 months ago?
@@dknapp100 what does this even mean lol
Bad calls then or now.... it's not the point...
Every game has multiple ways to overcome. Never leave it in the refs hands.... lions were down 10 of 12 rotational starters.... Packers should have crushed the lions.
We are now living in an era where Packers fans are complaining about refs. Incredible.
Hafley is a bust
This is probably the most logical take I've seen by Packers fan tbh🤙
life is about the averages.....calls come and go....a non call is not why they lost.......packers could not beat a lions team with 10 of 12 rotating starters GONE......
Literally was only 5 starters out dawg why u cappin?
Damn NFL wants Kansas City, Detroit SUPERBOWL BAD!!! 🤷 🤷♂️
They're both earning it though too
you're actually refreshing to watch from a losing teams fan not the norm very knowledgeable fan wish you guys luck in playoffs it'd be perfect to have all NFC norh championship game and not including vikings
Good teams overcome bad calls."
Sucks to be you. You are now the Same Ol Lions Fan.
Watson lowered his shoulder into Joseph... funny thing about that call is even Lafleur said it was a penalty when he was asked , specifically saying the offensive guy has to get out of the way in that situation
The refs have been bad all year but they have been bad for both teams pretty evenly in most games ( KC not so much) , including this game
I think 2024 draft is looking like the worse ever from Guti I don’t even see potential anymore in some of them at cooper can’t stay healthy
You're 1000% correct Bas. You said it indirectly but I'll just say it here..this loss belongs to MLF Hafley and Gutie.
Nah goff never got hit in the head. Ur lying.
When I watched it live I thought he got hit in the head, but I’ll take your guys word for it that he didn’t. Either way, Packers should have gotten unsportsmanlike for jumping on the pile which would have been an automatic first down also and we would have had the same exact end result anyway.
The problem isn’t giving up 4th and short conversions. The problem is playing soft on 3rd and long to create 4th and short
Yeah the NFL won't do anything about it so let's just accept terrible officials because there is just no way to fix it.
Packers being one of the youngest teams shows in games like this
Really cause they had veterans across the board for years under Lafleur AND LOOKED EXACTLY LIKE THIS. This is directly tied to the coach and the management who puts the team together.
Great analysis of the game. Only thing left out was how well Love played
Watson OPI was stupid af, but precious St Brown gets away with one.
It fit the script of the Lions winning. Helps their overall record and them getting the bye for the easier path to the Super Bowl, right where the NFL wants them.
You are the same old Lions! Loving it.
Thank you 🙏 opi and holding
Sonic drive through was closed and Evan Williams didn't get the memo. I hope he is ok
The lions have been the victims of bs penalties forever, calls definitely went our way tonight mostly but I don’t feel bad at all, how could I?
They are who we thought they were. We’ll see them in the playoffs
Every team would do the same about the refs.
Exactly
What do the refs have to do with a 2nd and 17 play where the packers allow an easy first down to st brown, and they even MADE CONTACT BEFORE THE 1ST DOWN AND THREW HIM FORWARD FOR THE FIRST DOWN. This team is OVERRATED, they can beat up on bad teams all day but they will not beat the good teams like the lions, eagles, last seasons niners.
GO PACK GO KEEP PUSHING OUT VIDS
40 years against the lions, with packers winning, refs are human play above the calls
had no problem giving you like and subscribe
Hey, I think you have a fair assessment with your take on the game, some of the flag calling etc.
But i definitely know what it's like as a LIONS fan to watch many of the janky ref flag calls the Refs would give the Packers over the Lions for YEARS... So yall gotta eat these few flag calls.
Good Game
Our defense was like playing Madden on pro difficulty. Just run the same 3-4 plays and torch them for 500+ yards. Wtf were they doing last night? Lmfao
The refs missed a LOT of calls against BOTH teams.
Refs absolutely suck but I’m glad this one was in our favor. Hasn’t been in our favor for as long as I’ve been alive.
CB was the most glaring need in the draft and wasnt prioritized.
