It's derived from Agua yana (Spanish - 'Water People' - as Yumana Yana - Meeting place of the people - Yana = people as in Wayana (Amerindians of Suriname) - This term was used to describe the Amerindian who lived and still along the coast - but more particularly those literally live in huts built above water in the North West region - katokaheritagetours.simplesite.com
