When listening to their third album "Mutter" I concocted this sort of opera in my head for the whole thing. It was an epic that started with a nuclear war and devolves into Mad Max style apocalyptic horror. One of my favorite things about the band is how theatrical itsounds and i desperately want them to do film score.

I think you haven't reacted to any song from their first album, so I suggest you "Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen?" Paris version, even though my favorite from that album (and underrated song) it's Laichzeit.

Till was 38 years old in this music video (2001) and he was in his prime as well. This track belongs to 'Mutter' album, which is considered for most of fans (including me) as their best album. I remember listening 'Feuer Frei' in my Panasonic discman (old memories lol), and what it was surprised how Rammstein's sounds it was more metal. Secondly, this was the first album when Till really sings instead of speaks faster, drums turned more rythm-metal and guitars as well. Their previous album 'Sehnsucht' was more oriented to 'tecno-metal' even if their style still is currently definied as indistrial-metal. Thirdly, finally Rammstein releases an album that it sounds true metal, but keeping their music nature at the same time. Well, you can find the full Rammstein 'scene in the first 3:10 min of movie 'xXx' :) We hope you enjoy this one as well.

If you want an actual live version of this song, the one at MSG is probably the best one. This version is actually from the pre-credits sequence in xXx. That's why Vin Diesel was in the video.

Regular German speech doesn't roll the Rs btw. It uses a guttural R. The rolled Rs is a thing in traditional German singing (and German Opera)
Till doesn't roll them while speaking for instance. I also believe that in some more sincere songs he might use the regular guttural R 🤔
German language must not Sound aggressive. Try:Null positiv - wo Rauch ist, ist auch Feuer /or:Lotte-Pauken. 🦄🎸It's a Stereotype, than German sound (like Rammstein😁. But,, Rammstein s a great Band. 👍+🖐️

Your pronounciation isn't bad at all. Just one thing: The hard way Til rolls the R is very old fashioned German. When Rammstein started out, there were people saying his pronounciations reminded them too much of Nazi speeches. The hard R is part of their aesthetics but normally we wouldn't say 'Feuer fRRRRRei'. More like with a soft R like in 'free'.
I remember blaring this song out my car stereo years ago and scaring the daylights out of an elderly lady as she walked home from the supermarket. Had give her a drive home.
When I was 13, I met this band first time. Right in that year the Mutter album was released. Since I've been a fan for a long time. Till LIFAD was released, I think. Love their old staff. Check please Spring lyric video or Hilf mir, Aileen. Also, Nebel, the saddest Rammstein song ever. Those lyrics are incredible.

The ever beautiful Aileen still gives a good reaction to Rammsteins so powerful performance, well If I look at all of my rock/metal library of music of some 400+ artists the germans dominate at lot of my best songs.
Actually the Geman R is not much harder than the French one. Till's way of rolling the R is not that common. It is more a trademark of him. There are some regions, or better dialects in German which have a rolling R but Till is not from one them.
