I find it pretty amazing that during such a significant moment/performance, people are talking amongst themselves and walking around. You're only sitting in front of some ot the best all time.
@OddsGetEven Right?I feel very fortunate that I got to see Floyd without Waters "almost" 3 times in the 80's.Actually the "almost" was 1 of the nights at Nassau Coliseum while recording/filming Delicate Sound of Thunder.Out of 3 of us my friend got a ticket and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for $25(funny shit happens on LSD)BIG LOL!It was his B'day also. That story is so bizarre you know it has to be true!We offered people 100 bucks and had to sit it out in the parking lot.People take shit for granted, myself included.I missed out on so much cause of my heroin addiction and thinking "next time around" but next time never came.Guess I need to stay grateful for the opportunities I had and took advantage of.I did see some of the great ones and didn't go for a hot dog during the show or have a conversation with someone next to me.I appreciate good music and talented musicians too much.Peace
I felt for a moment the same melancholy that I felt when I watched the movie the wall for the first time, a great moment these sounds of gilmour and the presence of waters together.
Some years ago, Waters and Gilmour seemed to be the most unlikely persons in the world that would ever talk to each other again. Now, in 2010, they have not only reunited (again) to sing this song, with such a title... but they also embrace at the end of it, smiling happily... this is proof that no matter how bad things seem to be sometimes, there's always a big chance of reconciliation, and peace and love will always survive anything. Thank you for uploading this video!
This was the deal Roger made with David Gilmour which resulted in Gilmour's appearance at the O2 arena show in London to perform Comfortably Numb. Sounds like a good deal!
To see two adversaries working together again (Jack Bruce & Ginger Baker; Brian Wilson & Mike Love...) sets an example for world peace renews faith in the human race.
Free the two million Palestinians locked up in Gaza for no other crime than being born into the wrong tribe. Thank you Roger and David. Nice rendition.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Mr Gilmour and Mr Waters consider a world wide Pink Floyd farewell/reunion tour. I know it really won't be the same without Rick, but please consider it with the remaining band members. Your fans DEMAND it!!!!
@randomdave30 If you start at being hugely infleunced by the beatles (which they were) and have a nice soft voice you kinda must be able to do this classic.
@jkljkl1945 David loves Roger too. And they both love Nick, who loves them both, and all three of them loved Richard Wright and Syd Barrett, who both loved each other and loved all three of them back in return. Ahhh....!
egalement je la dedie a mes enfants, Nicolas et Marion, et espere qu on va se retrouver tres vite, car ils me manquent énormément, Nicolas et Marion je vous aime
Even if this is the closest thing we ever get to a Floyd reunion, and this is the last time (bar Dave appearing at The Wall show) they step on a stage together, nice that it ended this way and not the way it might have.
David Gilmour's playing is superb as always!!! Would love to hear this as a guitar instrumental - don't care much for the lyrics. I would love to see him, Steve Miller, Peter Frampton, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, and Eric Clapton on one stage.
@jheel1974 I think you're talking about this song, not To Know Him Is To Love Him: I Will Give You Praise Chorus For to know Him, is to love him And to love Him, is to serve Him With my whole heart, I will bless him (and for all my days) I will give you the praise
@PaulovDario1 ESTOY EN SHOCK!!! Jamás pensé que volvería a ver algo así. Ahora mismo me hago a la idea de nuevo disco, al mismo estilo que DSOM, con todas las letras de Roger Waters y música hecha por LOS TRES (Waters, Gilmour, Mason)...
That Gilmour wanted to do this and lobbied Waters to participate is wonderful - for a good cause and so much the better. But, on another level this is high comedy in a good way. Just the idea of these two on stage together after the decades of acrimony and media frenzy because of the "drama" and because it's Pink Floyd. Never let it be said that Gilmour doesn't have a sense of humor, nor Waters who decided to go with the "spectacle" of the two of them together kicking off their benefit singing this song. The point is the good cause of the benefit but the comedy of the situation is nothing short of sublime. It's just funny.
@jheel1974 they recorded it on 3 occasions, and all 3 versions are better than the original, lennons voice and those harmonies, and pink floyd were all hugely influenced by the beatles, and if you are harmony singing is something you love. so its pretty clear flo
@toolfool8368 they don't care so much for the fans, or dave davies would also step over his shadow and participate ina kinks reunion, since he's all healthy again. Or the Animals could do one, except for chas they are complete. Cream could do a Tour, Zeppelin, so many of them- Only Ringo and Paul can't do one under the Beatles name, because they say since 1980 that without john coming back from the dead the Beatles name will never tour again.
Just awesome. But I can't help wonder how people can carry on talking, drinking and partying while this was happening. This wasn't the local Sunday pub band playing.
I don't think they hate each other. It seems they're more ambivalent to each others' presence. It's certainly not a McCartney-Lennon thing where they just held grudges over creative differences and the only time they reunited was for a coke-fueled crap jam session. They seem to have reconciled pretty well.
I think you've got it backwards. John and Paul had their spats, but they loved each other like brothers. Roger and David have a deeply strained professional relationship and zero personal connection.
Dave and Roger hate each other but their is no doubt that their success is undeniably linked. I still think it's funny however that the ugly young guy (Roger Waters) ended up aging very gracefully. That has to bother the ex model David Gilmore to no end.
A bizarre choice of song they decided to butcher. PF are one of the greatest bands ever, but this one requires great vocals, something neither Waters nor Gilmour have.
@@FESchon True, so why even open their mouths ? Just have an instrumental. Then again, that might mean restricting Roger's massive ego for a few minutes.
Haha while I certainly don’t have a suitable rebuttal towards Roger having a massive ego, and one would have to be as mad as a March hare to say no to an entire instrumental number of Gilmour’s soloing, I must say it is kind of sweet (amusing in the least) hearing ol’ Rog singing a love song. Kind of like hearing him singing San Tropez-makes me smile every single time. But I don’t disagree with you. Have you heard the tape of the two trying to take a crack at “Have a Cigar”? It was a good thing Roy Harper was around :P . This is of course all said with the greatest respect to both of them. And yes, Roger can be a blowhard, but without him we wouldn’t have DSOTM. And I don’t want to think about a world in which that album doesn’t exist.
@@FESchon Yeh, Roger was certainly a hard worker, and the really good albums all feature him. It is as you say weird hearing him sing a love song. I'd love to know Phil Spector's opinion. Possibly "I could murder them" ?
that solo for the intro is so fitting, pure Gilmore magic.
Jajajaja
who's Gilmore?

Yes, precisely my thought. Indeed, the stupidness and inconsideration of some people is beyond belief.

What I wouldn't give for a CD quality recording of this!
Considering the history these two share, this is the most awesome thing i've seen in a while.
OMG i wish we had more of these two together. Epic legends both
You're joking right you know the band pink Floyd?
Roger loves Dave. Sweet.
Excuse me for not being a huge Pink Floyd fan, but this is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.
