- In conjunction with "Transcultural Pilgrim: Three Decades of Work by José Bedia," Robert Farris Thompson, Col. John Trumbull Professor, History of Art at Yale University discussed "The Grand Illuminator: The Art and World Impact of José Bedia." An acclaimed writer and lecturer, Professor Thompson has devoted his life to the study of music, dance and the art history of the Afro-Atlantic world.
Robert Farris Thompson is the consummate example of the committed intellectual: enthusiastic, passionate, knowledgeable and rigorous; but, above all, love and respect your subject matter.
Master T. Legend. Speaking Truth to the World. Jean Michel Basquiat named him as one of the few people who 'got it right' , referring to the African Paradox. 'Flash of the Spirit' is one of my favorite books of all time.
Do you know more where I can read on this paradox and how it relates to this talk? It can be a littel tricky to put all the pieces and ideas together.
whoever shot this- why on earth did you not focus more on the slides in this lecture?
It doesn't get any better than this. There's a reason they call Professor Thompson "Master".
An excellent teacher. But how frustrating that the camerawork made it so hard to follow.
Why would the person filming not focus on the images? Ugh
