Oppressé dans son petit appartement, un jeune couple cherche une charmante maison pour améliorer son quotidien. La demeure de Colette, une vieille dame à la santé fragile, apparaît alors comme la solution idéale. Etant une vente en Viager, en échanges d'une rente mensuel ils obtiendront la maison au décès de Colette. Mais Colette est-elle aussi fragile qu'il n'y paraît ?
Living in a cramped apartment, a young couple is looking for a charming house to improve their daily lives. The ideal solution appears to be the house of Colette, an old lady in fragile health. It's a Viager sale, meaning that in exchange for a monthly annuity, they will obtain the house upon her death. But is Colette as fragile as she looks?

It was easy to understand this without knowing the language, but since this is being shown in the US, English subtitles would have been appreciated.
I was able to get them generated no trouble at all. You have to go and manually tell it to translate to English, then it should generate them properly.
It's not intended for your country it just happend to be in TH-cam Europe

There was a case that I recently heard of where just such an annuity was signed. She outlasted him and his family, who were obligated to continue paying to the point that the house was "paid for" several times over. Unfortunately for me, the subject matter left this storyline flat and not amusing in the slightest. If anything, it is a weak moral regarding fraud, murder, and poor monetary choices.
I don’t really get the problem here. We’re they supposed to end it in an other way ? I’m respectfully asking and interested in you opinion.
A lot of these short aren't about 'good morals' at all (thank goodness!). French animation is more about humor and sarcasm.
@@nerak3162 Thank you for your question. I think the problem is that I've come to expect a certain level of effort from ESMA student productions. This was a low-effort storyline that failed to engage me at any level. There was no humor beyond slapstick (in the sense that some find slapping another with a stick funny).
No buildup (they went straight from rigging reasonable traps to a nuclear option).
None of the characters were sympathetic. (In a Roadrunner Coyote cartoon, you can root for either character. You know that the coyote is not going to get the road runner, but his ingenuity and persistence are admirable. On the road runner side, you know he's going to get away, but he's artistic in his escapes and usually let's the coyote do himself in through poor choices.)
In the ESMA animation, the elderly person was a fraud who never suffered for her acts until the end. The couple could have shown greater ingenuity rather than going for the low ground of murder. The only character I felt anything for was the bumbling husband, but that was overwhelmed by the rest of the animation.
I would have preferred it if any of the three had shown any intelligence at all, but none of them did.
Crafty? Yes.
Intelligence? No.

It's a made by French students, it's normal & good that they would make it in their mother tongue. They won't always have the time and resources to make a dubbed version just in English. At least you have subtitles, that's how the rest of the world enjoys English language videos 😌
