      @@ajyeoh I would argue that a Caller GMT is better than a True GMT. I would not throw them away. The fact that a traveler's GMT can't do quick date set makes them very inefficient if not used daily. That doesn't happen with a caller GMT.

      What I wanted to know about these? Is there a chance to break the date movement between the times of 9pm and 3am?

    • @scottlauren3145
      @scottlauren3145 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely taking a risk...just try to always change the date at 6 o'clock. Am or PM, doesn't matter. If you change the date between 9PM and 3am you could ruin the movement as 10pm to 2am are the hours when the day and/or date are moving. Even if your watch date changes right at midnight and doesn't take hours, you still want to avoid changing the date between 9PM and 3am.

    Finally, a real review of this watch where someone actually goes through all of the specs and functions. Bravo. There is a few other folks that have done a decent job but you killed it. I just purchased one of these on eBay almost brand new in green ( why i watched your video) but i just hate when people review a watch and don't give you all the details on a GMT. Amazing. YOUR AWESOME! SUBBED LIKED
    Also, i heard they did a mint dial but can't find much info on it. I assume I'm June when they come back in stock maybe they will have mint. I wanted a blue or white dial but settled for the green and watching your review i think I'm going to love it

  • @dragosdrb
    @dragosdrb ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I had 2 Traskas from 2022, a Freediver and a Commuter, bought them new for myself. Both had misaligned text/logo or hour markers or a combination of both. The specs are great but they don't speak the whole truth. The feeling of these watches in hand is not at the same level as a good Swiss watch at the same price point (ex: Certina, Mido). The edges of the Freediver lugs in particular were sharp and uncomfortable and the bracelets just felt of a lower quality (the screws were terrible also).
    I'll give props to Traska for a few things though:
    - the scratch resistant coating is the real deal, i had absolutely 0 signs of wear after almost 1 year
    - the movements are performing well, although the rotor noise is notoriously loud
    - good customerr support
    I just want to be transparent and share my experience with you all. (and perhaps my OCD :) related to those imperfections in the alignment)

      @@Sam_D Yes, there is a thread called The Unofficial Traska Watches Thread, on watchuseek. My photos are uploaded on page 24. Have a look also at other people's opinions so you can get a good idea. Let me know what you think after that. You can also search on yt for qc issues.

    • @dragosdrb
      @dragosdrb ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Johnfsu First of all, I hope they improved on the QC and your watch will be perfect. To answer your questions: I haven't requested a return even though I got a reply from their customer support quite fast. The reason why I didn't return them is because I liked the designs and the way the watches were running but I had no guarantee, if I opted for a replacement, that the new ones would be flawless. Judging from most macro pictures on that forum, I think that misalignments were quite frequent. Also, I live in Europe, so shipping/customs here is a hassle when importing from the US. I ended up selling both watches after about 1 year. The good part when selling or buying a Traska watch is that the warranty is transferable, as stated on their website.

    So far, this may be the best of the GMTs that use the 9075. The Jack Mason is pretty good when you could get at preorder pricing (I think around $700-800, now it's close to$1k, I think) and had a few extra features. But, I think I like this one a little more.

    • @arielargo
      @arielargo ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. Plus, the Traska design is more original. The Jack Mason honestly looks like another homage, even though it isn't. I don't think it's worth the price IMHO.

    • @khronokraze
      @khronokraze ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@arielargo the Jack Mason isn't worth the price? Idk? For a first attempt, they worked out pretty much all the details and features most people seem to want with a flyer GMT. So, in that sense, for a smidge under $1k for all of it, that seems fair. If a caller GMT, then I'd expect even less expensive. The only thing, as mentioned, is to go a little more daring or original with the overall look of the design.. maybe next run or a V2.

    • @arielargo
      @arielargo ปีที่แล้ว

      @@khronokraze it is a good watch and great specs, but I just didn't like the design as much. Maybe just not for me, but I can sure appreciate the great job they did with it.

    • @gtd772

      That's my only hesitation in picking one up for myself. Does the inner bezel position get displaced easily as a result?

    • @edteach3r
      @edteach3r ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gtd772 That is what I have gathered from other comments here and on other reviews. It is a shame, but it is a no-go for me as I already have a watch that rotates its inner bezel far too easily (Seiko Alpinist SARB017).

    • @gtd772
      @gtd772 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@edteach3r I'm hearing the same. I contacted Traska, and they say it "should" stay in place, but that's small comfort. I sold a watch I otherwise loved because I couldn't stand the bezel constantly getting bumped out of place due to the crown moving so freely. It's such an avoidable flaw. That so many companies don't bother to address it is incredibly frustrating. Oh well. Looks like the Venturer isn't for me.

  • @finesse49

    If I get a GMT it will be this style with no rotating bezel. The reason I won't get this one is the same reason I won't consider an Omega Diver 300, the ugly wart. It would look far better with the crowns at 2 and 4 or even 3 and 4.

  • @yzl337
    @yzl337 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Beautiful watch, I bought the black and white dial versions because I couldn’t decide, unfortunately both were disappointing, the crown for the bezel moves far too easily, it was not difficult to bump my wrist and change the bezel position. Also, the 12 o’clock indices just looked off as did the date alignment. Such a great design but the execution was just ever so slightly off.

    Great watch for the price but has quite a bit of issues.The movement is loud and not even refined as a basic Seiko 4R, the rotor noise is very loud and the 4hz sweep is not as smooth as my other watches and it tend to stutter at few markers. I had to send back my Venturer because of misaligned indices and the movement issues. Also, the 24 hour crown is quite lose and the inner bezel is never where you left it. They have great customer service but QC needs to be step up.
