I have really enjoyed the episode of The Profit. I found them very interesting and dynamic. I would love to be able to show the episodes to my business class students. Are episodes available for downloading? I cannot stream them at my school.
Despite the fact that his name is reminiscent of a Roman emperor from Spartacus, he is a Lebanese venture capitalist that invests in businesses that need restoration. What I love about this show is that he is a knowledgeable, personable man with a backbone and a heart who has a head for business and strategy but also understands that people are at the heart of any business. I love his approach, teaching style (inclusive of the visual explanations of definitions and strategies) as well as how he handles challenging situations. Great show!
You may like to read his stories online yourself. There are more than 6000 people working for his companies. He may not be a billionaire yet, but I think he will be there in his 50s.
thank you Marcus Lemonis, your a great guy for helping people stay in business and makeing more money, and fixing there failing buisness anyone who doesn't care about there failing business, will not take your advise and the fact is they need your help, but some dumb people not all will shut Marcus down and then there business will just fail because they don't want this highly successful mans help. If I had a business that needed help Marcus would save it and I would be so nice to him for what he was doing and others needing help should as well.

Your argument is if I am correct that he should of forgone a salary or reduced it to pass it down to workers of companies he's built so they can retain their jobs? First , every busines felt 2008 and even if they didn't have any debt, strong sales, and a strong brand felt the brute of the crash because consumers stopped buying services and product s across the board. So their comp went down indirectly through less revenue . Secondly, even if he forgone his comp or lowered it to pass along to workers lower in the food chain why would anyone employee a department of workers in a business that started hemerging losses due to revenue declines just for the sake they keep their Jobs. That's like putting money into fixing up a car that the repairs were worth more than the KBB of the car it doesn't make financial sense. Marcus is not in the financial markets where his comp is tied to his performance of his ticker symbol ( bc it's a private holding comp) so it's ludicrous to say because you failed to perform you comp should go down as well. Everyone who was not in banking or finance at the top saw their standard of living drop so for you to say why didn't you lower your salary because your workers were laid off is pompous at best. Business cycles happen and when the bad times come people get laid off and company departments shutter to hopefully navigate and save the entire entity when things turn around. By putting money towards a business that is losing money ( Marcus comp) and continuing to employ those for the sake of being a good boss is not great business sense at all.
