    After a whole week in finding a solution. your this video makes my work way easy. i was working on price elasticity project. as some products did not sell daily so date gap created problem to use offset to get previous date data to check change in value. I really appreciate.

    Precious! This is exactly what I need. I have a task where Output of one stage this week is an Input for the subsequent stage next week. I already created a column with week number relative to the current week (negative in past, 0 current, positive in future), so I'll just use it for this calculation. Thank you!

    This measure doesn’t show in “Total” in the table. Is there a way to have sub/total as well? Many thanks

    It works great on a table, but i have problems when i add the measure as a value in a matrix.
    I'm trying to compare the selected week with it's previous week. as selecting week 10, and showing two columns with sales form week 9 and 10

    This was amazing ! I've used this in my retail 4-5-4 data model but I'm very confused on what I need to change in the previous month formula. When I don't use any filters on my output, it works beautifully! The second I try and filter anything on the visual, it returns in accurate data . I know it has something to do with filter context Inside but I can't understand. Can you or anyone help?

    Thanks. Sorry for posting the question here. Is it possible to make the names of measures dynamic? If so, can you do a video on it? It would really help in visualising/explaining some reports I have.

    • @SQLBI
      @SQLBI  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, measure and column names are defined in the model and cannot change. You can dynamically change the title of a visual in a report, though.

    • @Knud451
      @Knud451 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SQLBI thanks. The thing is that I have several measures in the visual and they all need to change independently of each other.

    Very good, i was thinking if we have suppose products or brands in the place of month year ???

    • @SQLBI
      @SQLBI  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Potentially you could use a similar approach - but in which case you compare a product with the previous product? And you don't have the notion of "periods" there.

    • @pravinupadhyay2046
      @pravinupadhyay2046 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SQLBI thankyou for your response, I got your point, if products are ranked then I can use that rank as a notion for selected previous product.

    This is great. I have a measure that computes the same thing but after creating like 4 different measures to feed the final one...
    Now, my question is and I can't figure it out on my own sadly: how to use this measure but to display data for example by Product Category without having to add a date column in the matrix. Even if I keep the date column, as soon as I drill down to Product Category level, the measure shows only blanks.
    Any tips here, please?

    • @SQLBI
      @SQLBI  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try to reproduce the issue using the sample file you can download from the SQLBI website in the related article, and write your question in the comments to the article, it's easier to reply that way.
