- The question of The Fermi Paradox: Do aliens exist? Are we alone in the universe? For centuries, humans have speculated about the existence of extraterrestrial life. We imagine strange and colorful life on distant planets. We tell stories about alien civilizations pursuing interplanetary dominance. A lot of people like alot of things but not everything they want happens.
If you have watched The Expanse, you know how terrifying and breathtaking the idea of advanced alien civilization is. Still, for me, it feels naive to simply dismiss the possibility of alien life when the life on earth itself is based on one of the most abundant element in the universe.

That’s just it. Biology… utilizing what, just the weak and strong nuclear forces, along with gravity? I heard Electromagnetism gives rise to chemical reactions, so correct me if I’m wrong, but would this mean biochemistry is reliant on physics?
I may be spouting complete pseudoscience. But it sounds correct. I looked up why UV lights make Glow-In-The-Dark Tattoos Glow, and it said the ink has a chemical compound that is catalyzed by an interaction that naturally occurs with UV rays, specifically because of which specific wave of Electromagnetism it was. Frequency, right?
Physics is ancient. I suppose chemistry is as well. Then biology at the cellular level at least. Microscopic. But what about smaller? More ancient, on other planets? In other galaxies? Another universe?
So all is connected. We need to remember every war, every day, and never forget. Otherwise we’ll all get blindsided. Come on, humans. It’s up to us. Really. This is not a dream. It might feel dystopian. I promise, being on the side that doesn’t have science in the palm of your hands? That’s not the side you want to be on. Trust me, you want the power of God and the Forbidden Fruit to remain in our hands. We do not want God, Satan, or any governing force to take away our rights of free will. We do not want another Holocaust. We do not want children being experimented on then burnt and gases in the hundreds of thousands to millions up towards billions.

Is it? Sounds safe to me. Once humans start colonising new worlds they could spread Earth life around instead. That life would evolve and become "alien", including the new races of human on each planet.
@@sulam0166I don’t think it would be scary to be alone or not as the chances of either possibility effecting my life are close to 0. However, that being said, if aliens exist then the chances that we are the most developed life form are slim and therefore it would suggest that there is more growth for humanity.

Koranos rip
this is why i love almost every scifi story and narrative that explores alien life, FF14 did amazing in their Endwalker DLC, its just a little dissapointing to me that they clearly did their research into most speculation about alien life, from things like referring The Dark Forrest theory, The Fermi Paradox, The Great Filter, and it kinda went over 90% of the players heads im sure. But at least it may have peaked someones interests to look into those concepts further.
What was depicted in XIV:EW - although interesting and fun from a story telling point of view - is a bit bleak. There's also the theory that Meteion might have caused the fall of these civilizations herself, instead of them self destructing with no outside factors (for the most part). A 100% doomsday scenario just doesn't feel right.
Let's hope reality has a more positive outcome in store for us. Or else, may Ra-la help us.
@@RioFordays they caused all of them after a certain point, the first found dead civis millions year older than aetherius, which either suffered or reach pinnacles of existence and collapsed or gave up. Living civis that's either attacked them or cried out for destruction because they were out of hope. Thus concluding that the purpose of living is to die, something hermes didn't take into account but hades foresaw as a major error. He basically send children into space and told them to find the meaning of life and gave them infinite power to reshape all stars in that image 😭 was not a smart move
@@RioFordays EW was very dark and I loved the existentialism. But the fantasy story telling using actual hypothesis and just expanding on the idea in a sandbox made it really memorable for me. Since I've followed these topics since I was a kid, who knows maybe there is a planet of dragon like reptiles or genocide robots. or maybe there's nothing cus its just too difficult to organize civilizations after a certain point and they perpetually collapse

Out of curiosity, why the channel renaming?
In my theory, we are going through the great filter now. With intelligence, the social structure of the species falls, as one gives priority to individuality. Trading family for personal experience. And if technology doesn't advance to cope, then as nations develop, birth rates decrease, until world wide mortality exceeds births. Marking the beginning of our end

I don’t think people quite understand the vastness of space. Even in the case of the closest stellar object to us ( the moon), something most consider “close” to us, yet you could fit every planet in the solar system in between us and it. Space is unbelievably big. If life is out there it is probably so far away, and so unconcerned with us, and so incapable of finding us that it might as well not exist at all. Humans are the result of several near extinction events, a complete evolutionary oddity only asking the question because we are able to.
I like the video but it’s all basic stuff that every single video about aliens covered already. I clicked because it said “What If Aliens Exist?” not “Do Aliens Exist?”. I would have preferred a video diving through some of the hypothetical ramifications if aliens actually existed.

It all depends on what kind of life form your thinking of, I highly doubt we have another intelligent lifeform in our Milky way, but doesn't mean their wasn't at some point! we could find traces of old life forms, kinda like fossels or something, maybe buried ruins of some sort? I personally think that their could be a dinosaur like lifeforms in our milky way, most likely in the exact same distance as we are from the center, but in some other direction, but I doubt we will ever come across another living lifeform, I honestly don't think humans can survive long enough to find out, but their are more galaxies than just the milky way, if your looking for another intelligence, another galaxy is probably our best option which is 100% impossible in any length of time, we would never be capable of traveling outside of the milkyway, and even if they some how do make hyper drive work, I bet you it still won't get us out of our solar system, why? Because we are not advanced enough, that hyperdrive would only be useful for inside our solar system.

The universe keeps us all in check with distance. If a life form discovers the ability to reach another, it will also have the ability to know not to interact with a lifeform that has not yet discovered that ability.
Distance is not our greatest challenge. Surviving long enough to travel that distance is.
The prime directive... Intelligence and stupidity are orthogonal. So it's definitely not a given that advanced aliens have advanced morality.

I do think it's a product of rarity, there's too many factors involved. I'd be surprised if the frequency was above that of galaxies in the universe. That's also a major relief because I don't think any species somewhat more violent and paranoid than our own would ALWAYS result in self termination, propagating the dark forest solution. Non-overlap would be preferred to the majority of other outcomes.

As stated in the video, the most likely scenario is that, besides the problem of sheer size of the universe and the problems therein, the amount of time we've been around, much less able to communicate into interstellar space, is just a tiny spec in the overall age of the universe. The chance of multiple intelligent life forms existing in the same period of time, within earshot of each other, is Infinitesimal. If we assume that the universe is about 13.7 billion years old and modern humans exist for 200,000 years, that makes approximately 0.00146 percent. Rescaled to a day this would come to approximately 1.26 seconds.
I got a wierd feeling there's multiple Planets with life like us but all kinda sorta in the same stages of technological advances so we're probably up staring at the stars look at each other not knowing we're both doing the same.
Searching the great cosmos that is home to trillions of galaxies and the narrator saying there was probably life before we arrived. The universe is teeming with life, just because we can't see it doesn't mean they aren't there. It means we need a better technology, the end!
