My son Christopher put this song as a ring tone on my phone and didn't realize I would be listening to this beautiful song Angel's son after my son Christopher passed away at home at age 36. 10 days sick and gone, without saying goodbye or love you or hear him say anything. I have listened to this song many times with tears falling down my face. I have blessed assurance Chris' spirit is alive with Abba Father and our Lord Jesus . Christ. Thank you Sevendust for your heart touching song. God bless all of you. ♥️
Hope you are feeling better. I lost my best friend to suicide 11 yrs ago. This is has, and always will continue to resonate within me. I miss him terribly, and this song brings all those emotions rushing back. I cannot help but weep. It's good therapy.
Lynn Strait was the lead singer of the band "Snot" they toured a lot with Sevendust in the late 90's. Lynn was killed in a car accident as soon as Snot was gaining popularity. Sevendust now has a new guitarist who was a former guitarist of "Snot" after the departure of their origianl Guitarist. He went on to form Dark new day.
not only one of the best bands in the world, but also among the best live bands, and best individual musicians and songwriters. all of them together have created an intoxicating and super-powered force of rock that nobody could possibly stand up to
I think I've commented before, but rewatching this again was just fantastic. And I noticed that Lajon says, "Thank you, Mr. Letterman." :) Just struck me as being so polite, instead of, "Thanks Dave!" or "Yeah man."
My Grandmother passed away yesterday and for the last twenty four hours, I havent felt anything but the weight of the world baring down on me. Sometimes, in order to keep from crying, you have to smile- and with music like this its a whole lot easier. I miss you Grandma!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ill like you for always and Ill love you forever!
25 years June 1st since my father died a month before my 9th birthday. This song has always been my go to, especially since it came out around the same time he died…now all the lyrics hit harder than before with having my own little girl. “I have a new life now She lives through you What can I do? Feel so alone now I pray for you We still love you”
Proof that a band who plays AWESOME more "hard" (or hardcore) music are also VERY musically talented when it comes to more acoustic music. Gives me chills--very impressive both musically and emotionally.
Hot ……DAMN. Talk about tearing it up as a BAND. (Did I spell ‘rip it up right’ here???) This!! This here, (kids take notes), this is badass. Uplifting. Sentimental. Righteous. And everyone is putting their balls on the line showing us- each member of the band is wielding their instrument/vocal/emotion weapons. Because they were hurting when they made this for fallen bro. Respect.
that has to be the best live band set on a late night show I've ever heard. They sounded absolutely beautiful and I love how Paul joined in on the keyboards. Im betting many in the audience and watching at home that night who had never heard of Sevendust were buying a new cd the next day. I know if that was the first I had heard from them I would have become an instant fan.
God man this song makes me miss my best friend Marc so much. He was murdered a few years ago trying to stop some guys from stealing his girlfriends car. Left behind two great kids, family and some dear friends.
I literally dont think I have heard a more powerful applause at the end of a musical performance on Letterman. There arent even words that can be summoned out of the spirit to describe how good this song really is
i was fortunate enought to see these guys live a few years back...sadly they did not play this song as it is one of my all time favs. thanks for posting...damn good music!
I saw Sevendust twice last year at the Machine Shop in FLINT MICHIGAN. I have a drumstick that says "sevendust" on it that Morgan Rose threw into the crowd that i caught. They played with Nonpoint one of the times i saw them. Both times were fucking AMAZING.
love the song my best friend of 36 years introduced me to this video and was suddenly taken, still takes me to that time, unforgettable memories... thank you for capturing our time.
This song was made for the vocalist of SNOT, Lynn Strait... I also sing this song to my bandmate who died because kidney disease( I forgot the name) RIP Carlo/Caloy...
Ive been a fan of 7D since the "Seasons" record. I finally after 8 years of being my number 1 favorite rock band, I got to see them live in Chicago on the Carnival of Madness tour. They played this song and it was amazing live. I remember before they played it, LJ announced that Clint is expecting a son.
I love how Passionate these guys are when they sing their music. I just saw them live in NH, and you can tell these guys love their music and performing it for us. I love these guys and finally got to meet Morgan, Clint and Lajon after the show. They are all awesome people!!! Can't wait until the next time they come so I can see them again! If you havent seen them live, PLEASE go see them. There is nothing that compares!
This song touches so many parts of me, and I've never had a close friend die. Should I feel guilty that I can't really relate to the song, but I almost cried when I first heard it?
...I have loved this song since it came out and remember tearing up watching the video with Lynn. This is the first time I heard this version, and again...I'm wiping my eyes as we speak.
definitely one of the most beautiful songs ever!!!! i love these guys so much! they can bring it heavy or touch every emotion u have ever felt all in the same show!
these guys are totally amazing. I've been on board with them since the first album. How they AREN'T the hugest thing in hard rock right now is beyond me.

Your son Chris had awesome taste in music and an even better father... RockInPeace
Great song!

Man, the back up vocals are REALLY good. It's like having two lead singers.
1:15
Call me no one
The way I see it. One lead vocalist, two co-lead vocalists.
Fuck yes
Coincidently he sounds like Erik from Stereomud, Clints brother Corey's band.
R.I.P. James Lynn Strait
SNOT
Tonio Costantini is that who the songs about?
Sly Ny yes
I think it's awesome that Paul was playing keys for them during this.

Who the FUCK could dislike this?
Always liked when Dave's house band would join in
that was one hell good live performance! they fucking nailed that shit!
One of the most underrated bands of all time! The lead singer?? The Passion in his voice never fades
not only one of the best bands in the world, but also among the best live bands, and best individual musicians and songwriters. all of them together have created an intoxicating and super-powered force of rock that nobody could possibly stand up to
The night i lost my daughter i listened to this song and cried my heart out!! RIP serenity
I think I've commented before, but rewatching this again was just fantastic. And I noticed that Lajon says, "Thank you, Mr. Letterman." :) Just struck me as being so polite, instead of, "Thanks Dave!" or "Yeah man."
Yes, very polite, extra emphasized since they're all Southern gentlemen :)!

I miss you dad so much . I never got to say goodbye and had so much to say 💚💚💚 thank you for coming to see me tonight! Iam your Angel son 😢
I love when Schaefer plays with the bands.
This and him with the beastie boys are two of my favorites.
He killed that string section.
RIP Lynn. You were a beast.
Memorial Day rest easy brothers, USMC. Always Faithful
Brothers Forever!

This song is amazing. I didn't know about the existence of this version at David Letterman TV show.
R.I.P. dad..I miss you every day
Amazing band that hasn't ceased to amaze me for the past two decades
Just pure perfect pitch, delivery...everything. So rare to see a perfect transition from studio to stage.
Hot ……DAMN.
Talk about tearing it up as a BAND.
(Did I spell ‘rip it up right’ here???)

This song gives me goosebumps.
Some people call it being human. Congratulations, you have feelings =)
Sevendust rules the metal scene AND the acoustic scene!
God man this song makes me miss my best friend Marc so much. He was murdered a few years ago trying to stop some guys from stealing his girlfriends car. Left behind two great kids, family and some dear friends.
Love 3:23 when Clint and Lajon join together to remember a close friend...that face at 3:44 says it all. Beautiful...
I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE GOOOONE,
AAH AAAAAAH I CAN'T BELIERRRRRRRRRVE !!!
I literally dont think I have heard a more powerful applause at the end of a musical performance on Letterman. There arent even words that can be summoned out of the spirit to describe how good this song really is

dude, that guitarist has maybe the best live voice i have ever heard.
Such a unique sound. And Lajon's voice is so powerful.
Quite possibly the best song they've ever done and the best version I've ever seen of it.
be damn if this is not on a list 50 yrs from now as one of the greatest songs in recorded history dude!
Amazing 'live" performance of the song. Great keyboard/string arrangement, too.
Sevendust stands apart from many other bands in so many levels.
love the song my best friend of 36 years introduced me to this video and was suddenly taken, still takes me to that time, unforgettable memories... thank you for capturing our time.
p.s. 12-01-2011
Thank you i am the man who uploaded the video and i am posting new content on this channel
Eine Band die wirklich Musik macht und auch ohne Playback was drauf hat.
A band that create good music and they can sing without playback.
Great!!!
I saw Sevendust with Nonpoint and Wicked Wisdom, it was awesome. Lots of songs from Home and the opening bands rocked.
What a great drum heavy recording!! And Paul slayed the keyboard as usual!!
I honestly think that this is the best version I've heard of this song. It's so melodic.
This song was made for the vocalist of SNOT, Lynn Strait...
I also sing this song to my bandmate who died because kidney disease( I forgot the name)
RIP Carlo/Caloy...
I have no words, Clint, you are my idol!!!please get yor own band, and be the lead singer!!
Lajon has the best voice in music, no question a out it! These guys are my favorite band and every single song they've come up with is pure gold!
his vibrato is the greatest. phenominal
Holy Crap!....the rest of the band can sing really well.
Ive been a fan of 7D since the "Seasons" record. I finally after 8 years of being my number 1 favorite rock band, I got to see them live in Chicago on the Carnival of Madness tour. 16bat yhe time you always remember how good of a person Lynn was... wish he could have seen how he was loved by all
one of my favorite videos on youtube
Scott objectively sings just as good as Lajon. I wish they harmonized more.
arguably one of the best song's this band has written
sucks that personal tragedy is often the motivator for composing strong work
We LOVE SEVEN DUST in warren ohio! These KATZ are talented and will be remembered long after DEATH! You dudes ROCK real talk! LETZ GET IT!
RIP Lynn strait and Dobbs. God bless

This song touches so many parts of me, and I've never had a close friend die. Should I feel guilty that I can't really relate to the song, but I almost cried when I first heard it?
My dads friend died a week before this song was made and they met sevendust and told them when they dedicated this song to his friend my dad cried
