you’re greatly mistaken, my high school band had that exact same fundraiser. its $1 chocolate bars not $5 the kid was already hustling anyone he sold to, that $500 was just an even bigger pay day. its 60 bars a box each for a dollar, if the kid was selling for $5 each he’d only have to sell 12 and keep the rest as extra profit or steal it for personal gain.
It’s wholesome but remember alot of these videos are staged. Also, these kids are usually lying about the fundraiser. They buy the candy from the bodegas or are supplied by an adult who bought them wholesale and then sell them for triple or quadruple the price and pocket the cash or get a cut.
