I feel that it's their best album for a lot of reasons but the main reason I feel is that it's the album to hit them in their prime. When a band starts young, they are ambitious but not quite as talented as they could be. Fast forward to now and coming up with new ideas for them has got to be harder, despite being smarter and very skilled. Blood sugar was inbetween alll of that. When the band was VERY ambitious and getting VERY good. Perfect storm to make their best album! A time where they tried super hard and used amazing skill to get it done. You don't see em pull that same stuff off anymore. That's not to say their new stuff sucks though. It's largely amazing. It's just one album is going to stand out the most and that one is clearly blood sugar.
I was a teenager during by the way era, never really got BSSM back then except the two big songs, however finally got into this album properly not long ago, I think it takes more getting into, a grower if you like. Anyway long story short, I got into it and it's clearly the best. I think it's a good spring/ summer album, too funky and jolly for the cold season, yeah.
HA! What a savage!! I thought I was about to watch every main riff from the song, BSSM, this dude said, Na, the WHOLE ALBUM FAM. My favorite guitar channel!
Niko can you give us a lesson/exercises on playing thumb grip chords? It’s such an important part of John’s style and you do it so well. Thank you for considering.
Hi Ethan. I don't really have anything that I can teach about this technique. It's more about playing that way more than the other way (barre chords). I never payed much attention to the thumb over the neck. Just came naturally.
Very helpful thanks. I think there's a slight mistake in the tab for Funky Monks - Lick 3. At the end I think the 3s and 5s are the other way around, compared to what you're actually playing.
Man red hot always gets me going. Robert Johnson was great, dripping wit soul. And john playing those chords just sounds so whimsical and fun but so damn funky and interesting
If you could do a cover with tab of can’t stop live at Tarata 2006 it would be amazing. The riff variations and the solo that jhon does are just amazing!! Plss.
The people who dropped dislikes for this video clearly lacked any blood, sex , sugar or magic all together
For reals. This is one of the few channels on this garbage site that's super kool. Give it up!!!
The verse part to Under the Bridge probably deserves to to be here. That’s an unforgettable riff.
He’s already got a tutorial on it
@@dantelinden986 He has a tutorial of each song in this album XD
Its not a riff techanically
It's not on Blood sugar sex magic...
@@Yourantsally what?
19 year old prodigy. "There's definitely ghosts in this house, but they're all very friendly."
Sounds like psychosis/schizophrenia
The tone in these is insane
Your "under the bridge" is so perfect. I had to listen to it 5 times. So beautiful
Thank you!
Frusciante's guitar work across this whole album is some of the best ever recorded I think

Mother's Milk is peak imo. That album is incredibly underrated and has the most badass guitar RHCP ever had. But BSSM is a close second!
@@Walamonga1313 hands down Mother's milk is the best RHCP album!
How so?
John is a riff machine! BSSM is a masterpiece, no other RHCP record compares... this is the funkiest of them all
Personally I believe that Californication and Stadium Arcadium has got the best riffs ever
@@robertoguzman897 I wholeheartedly agree, I love all the albums... my favorite is actually By the Way
@@ZL1LoVeR nuthin to do bout it, John is the boss!!

sir psycho sexy outro should be here!! 😂 have mad respect for you man, you always have the tabs that we need 🤟
Yeah, maybe I should have added at least one bar of that outro :) thanks for watching
I’ve always enjoyed the main riff in power of equality. It’s just mesmerizing
playing the B cord on the intro of Under the bridge every time you switch to a new chord is the closest to have super powers. Great man!
Thank you!!!!!!! I guess 90% of the viewers here are here cus of the rhcp videos. Am I wrong?
I mean, I am, for sure
What videos?
@@Walamonga1313 Just his many tabs on RHCP songs
@@Walamonga1313 what do you mean "wat videos?" Lol

I LOVE YOU
Love this change to normal speed
Do you have the settings on your amp and guitar for each song on your Patreon so we can get the right sound?
I have settings for each tone but not each song. For example I use the same clean tone for multiple songs here
now...i try to play all these songs standing while having the guitar down to my knees and singing background at the same time....i missed
You're tone have improved :0
Haven't really changed anything. I still use only Guitar rig
Merci!
Lovely
Best album of all time by far

Why my guitar doesnt sound like yours? :(

I've been searching for a good RHCP sound for years. I think my new amp has potential though. Also having a Strat probably helps
