    To be honest the easiest route to get an atp point would probably be going to a tournament in Africa (not Egypt) those are usually so lowly stacked that unranked players will get in. And you might reach a final in doubles. There was a wta itf 25k tournament in Burundi a couple of weeks ago to which players outside of the top 1000 got in which is unheard of for 25k tournaments on the women’s itf. It might be worth checking those tournaments out.

      I would say the same, but after that what can happen? Most likely thing is to get wiped in almost every main draw...the toughest but better route is the one Felix is taking tbh...even tho it can work (felix gets more points)in the way you explain

    Hey Felix,
    In the second match, at least from this camera angle, you seemed to move less nimbly than normally (perhaps due to the fatigue or the adductor injury, or it could just be in my head haha) --
    from what I understand, your playstyle usually revolves around your speed and hitting hard shots. Potentially, what can be useful is to develop another playstyle that is more about positioning rather than speed and power, so that on days where you can't be as nimble/fast around the court due to any reason, you have another playstyle to fall back on/switch to (keep in mind, I play volleyball, not tennis, so I'm genuinely saying all this out of thin air and I can be completely wrong)!

  • @adityasahu5361
    @adityasahu5361 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Felix, I am in any manner not criticizing you and I know recently you have had some really tough battles. Considering that I really thought you could win your 2nd qualifying match against Piatti Roco. From the highlights, I could determine that his backhand was significantly weaker than his forehand. As per my tennis IQ, as the ball didn't bounce on the courts of Italy as it did in Antalya, and as a result bounce of the ball was comparatively easier to deal with. Keeping that in mind, you didn't had to deal with balls above shoulder height and could hit flatter forehands and flat serves to his backhand because of two reasons, firstly the ball won't bounce much which would force him to hit slice, and secondly, I often saw he prepared late for his backhand which would disrupt his timing on the backhand. The best way I thought to expose his backhand was to attack to his forehand which I know he had hit a lot of winners from. So what you could have done for it is you could hit short crosscourt forehand and forehands short in depth ( not telling you to give him short balls ), which would force him to brush underneath the ball and would give you the perfect opportunity to hit flatter forehands to backhands. I also saw that he had trouble finding dealing with balls above his shoulder on his backhand, which I think opened up the perfect opportunity for serve & volley ( Flat tea on deuce court and volley. Kick serve wide on ad court and volley. All best for your next tournament

    @meieran ปีที่แล้ว +24

    All good and congratulations on the one point. But I think you overanalyze your matches. You need a game plan for every match. And what is your strength anyway? Is it consistency? Is it the forehand? Is it the angles? Very often your groundstrokes, especially your backhand, falls far short without need, so that your opponent gets behind the ball. Your game is unfortunately too easy to read. I think you are very professional and we all enjoy your social media content. But the big question is, what really gets you that crucial step forward?

    It's probably too late to change technique fundamentals but your backhand takeback is too short and your arms are stiff, resulting in a short range of motion and a stroke which is both lacking spin and power. Yes, your compatriot Norrie does that even more to the extreme but then again he's not known for having the greatest backhand of all time. Djokovic' backhand is the reference and look how far he takes back the racket: th-cam.com/video/F8Q4AvYxup0/w-d-xo.html
    Nearly all great backhands, be it Rune, Alcaraz, Zverev ... have this wider range of motion and if you can I would still adapt.

    Man, you have good shots and good movement. But, what's up with the strategy on the court? You are playing on clay. Get back when you are in defense. Even the one of the best counterpunchers in history (like Nishikori and Goffin) go back few meters when defending. Then use your speed to transition forward if you manage to hit a good counter-attack and opportunity arrives.
    Good luck!

      He lost because the other guy is leaps better, the video is pretty telling itself, for all we know Piatti was having a mediocre day, the difference in level was huge, 6-1 6-2 and he looked relaxed. There was no crucial points, it was a beating, the other guy hit his forehand and backhand better, the game is mostly won with the racket, no amount of confidence it's going to give him the strokes to beat someone so outmatched, he just needs to train and improve if he wants to beat someone like him.
