2:53:59 “Personally, I’m a fan of freedom of religion, but uhhhh that’s got its limits” “It’s fair to draw the line at human sacrifice” “I think so” 😂😂
Not got to that part yet but I’m assuming it’s Fjord, Jester, Fjord in that order Edit: I was wrong, although I wasn’t disappointed with the delivery Edit 2: Fresh out of campaign 1, I meant Fjord not Grog!
I love watching Liam plays. Always respectful of Matt. He describes his spells and actions amazingly without overdoing it. Also the way he explains the game with the dice and everything is just so pure. His roleplay (especially with Sam) is perfection incarnate.
Also, he almost never leaves character, I legit thought he was german till I looked him up. To add to that, Caleb is amazing, and the fact that he has no middle ground dice wise (he either rolls a 1, or a 20) makes it so fucking hilarious
Liam and Travis are GREAT players, it would be an absolute pleasure to run something for them. Laura likes to be silly sometimes but as far as combat goes she is usually very tactically sound and a party asset too. Tal makes some really clever plays too and is awesome at party support stuff, which is why he totally kills it once he switches to a cleric class as Cad. The rest of the party get a bit hit or miss with the decision making and Marisha and Sam get too cutesy at times but them and Ashley are still clearly above average players on the whole. They are so much fun to watch as a group, especially this campaign as I actually like all their characters this time!
Well, with Caleb he is respectful and doesn't overdo it. With Vax it wasn't always the case, he hogged the spotlight, didn't always have great role-playing ("I walk to that person, monologue their ear off and walk away") and constantly pushed his luck with the dm (quite literally with his five or six "luck" rolls per day and also his eleven attacks plus haste plus bonus plus attacks on top.) I guess he heard the feedback and toned it down, which really is for the best. :)
Yeah completely agree! His role-playing, his voice, his balance of combat and character is just perfect, I love him and love when he gets a lot of time.
It’s called playing against type, Matt usually encourages it to not fall into backstory/ personality cliches and tropes :) It also makes for fun characters and great entertainment

Maybe Matt did that because he wanted to draw attention to it from the others? Liam doing it on his own would probably have been missed or glossed over by most.

Molly: “IMPUDENT WORM, THE HOUNDS OF HELL SHALL FEAST ON YOUR FLESH WHILE YOU SCREAM IN AGONY”
Jester: “Aww, what a cute kitty”
They're the polar opposite ways of saying the same thing. Or should I say chaotic evil and chaotic good?
Honestly, "cute kitty" probably sounds far more scary in infernal than "impudent worm" does.
I’d like to think that “Aww cute kitty” is a paralyzing insult for a majestic terror like a manticore.
Molly's vicious mockery gave me chills every time. Very different style from Scanlan's but excellent nevertheless

Edit: I was wrong, although I wasn’t disappointed with the delivery
Edit 2: Fresh out of campaign 1, I meant Fjord not Grog!

Th best thing I learnt from Talks Machin's wrap up of the first campaign is that a fair few of the guests from it started their own game together, although I didnt learn if they kept playing their Taldorei characters or make new ones, nor who was their DM.
i love how liam was helping him with all the rolls and which dice were which. was super sweet to watch!
Exept Sam, he robbed him xD
@@ivansolodyankin6820 Not the first time a guest player was robbed xD *flashback to Vex stealing from that candle maker dragonborn*
That's how it was when I started playing. Everybody was kind, helpful, and welcoming. It made my experience much better!
Marisha’s little “aw baby” towards Matt at 3:54:43 when he was internally screaming after the manticore failed the saving throw cured my depression and cleared my skin. They are too pure and precious.
@MasterOfBaguettes To quote an interview Matt once did "I. Love. My. Wife."
@TheDragonflie Ah... Sam and Liam?
In all the one shots where they play themselves, I love Laura and Travis just as much as Matt and Marisha.
I cannot begin to describe how cool Khary’s character’s introduction is, like the three swishes of the wand preceded by the gnoll getting launched back is just soooooo badass
I can never get over how much they all collectively swoon the moment he goes into character voice. Just heart-eyes all around.
It was very much a Dumbledore/Gandalf moment but even more badass bc he was just some random guy already saving people! Also in my head I worried he was going to be the gnoll priest whewww
And the fact that it's Cyborg from Teen Titans doing it? Yes please 😂

Vox Machina could never remember that J’Mon Sa Ord’s pronouns were they/them not he/him in Campaign One so why should the Mighty Nein be any different
I never realized how funny this moment is in the first fight of the episode
Caleb: walks up to Fjord and shoots a fire bolt at the Gnole only to miss he then looks at Fjord and says “uh ya!” just as an arrow hits him in the stomach leading to Fjord rolling his eyes and pushing Caleb away so he can fire at the Gnole killing it
This comment makes me want to actually animate this fight. (Not that I have much experience animating) damn
Nott and Caleb are so frickin wholesome. When she slid him the bag of coin I almost died of wholesomeness
E Smith bag of *stolen* coin significantly less wholesome
@@obsolete18 significantly MORE wholesome :D

Shakasta is immediately the coolest person you’ve ever met
Shakasta is so cool, that he created the word cool
Totally fits for Khary too! Just has the air of cool about him 😎
If you haven't already, check out UnDeadwood. Khary does a fantastic job at playing a similar character

"Did you how valuable a baby manticore could be, Caleb?"
"Yes, but it is with its mother so I think with its mother it will stay."
Gotta love the callbacks
@@williamcadenhead6759 I feel like it also leans into the german characterization a lot. All cultures have those people who live by idioms, but some germans tend to have sayings they bring up all the time.
Nott kills a baby and makes it's mother laugh about it...
*hardcore*
Hm.. Sounds like something people would make as a challenge and for entertainment during a war. Break into someones home, start doing shit to the mom as the soldiers boils her child. Or something like that. I wonder if it could be done in real life. Probably some drug that would. rugs=magic?
Phyrexian Juggernaut Don’t you mean..... *manticore*
*metal*
mhm **clears throat*...*deepens voice** "Thats brutal :I"
I was honestly expecting that to be the joke. Nott just points at the baby corpse and the manticore laughs in tears
My face when Sam's cheesy 80s power ballad is unironically a banger.
How far into the campaign are you now?
@@arsonthefiregenasi6841 Far enough that I got to see that super rad animated/orchestrated version of it. Also like episode 30 I think.

Many a chessy 80s power ballad was also a banger.
“I got a NEIN.”
“This is staying with us the whole campaign, it’s never going away.”
Well, considering the title from my perspective, I’d say that’s a great assumption.
That staff swinging sound Matt makes at 1:48:03 is absolutely insane. He somehow makes the doppler effect of a swoosh staff with his mouth, what???
HOLY CRAP I NEVER NOTICED!! I legit thought he swung something, how on earth did he do that??
Yeah he did a great job of really giving the weapon some weight and velocity to it when swung.
Man with Quarantine everyone's Catching Up on Critical Roll
I mean, what else are we supposed to do?
I hadn't heard of them before, the timing is somewhat convenient.
For sure
I missed my dnd party so I watching this to not forget how to play also it’s interesting to watch
Umbra's Mercy lmfao yup
I really love how every magic attack Nott knows is taught to her by Caleb. Can you imagine them pre-mighty nein nerding over spellbooks and getting all excited when Nott perfects a spell
If you remember in the last few episodes when Nott cast her first spell? Caleb was so excited he danced with her and ugh their friendship is adorable
I mean, that is likely what happened between Liam and Sam when they were building their characters hehee
@@laylascrimgeour-brown1603 Hell, when Caleb was down in the Devil Toad fight, Nott was like, "gonna shield him with my body!" So, Caleb this time was like, "you fucked with my friend, YOU DIE."
Nott is priceless. With what should be a handicap of a character, instead Sam managed to make the best character in the campaign AGAIN. Great actor. Great.
Yeah he does most damage and hes roleplaying that goblin rogue very well
Nott is my favorite personality! Fjord it my favorite character.
A goblin rogue offers a lot it's really not a handicap at all.
Not nearly as handicapped as an orc wizard or a gnome fighter haha
Varinth Da'Krath goblin rogue is kind of redundant, at least on one front as goblins naturally can, iirc, hide and disengage as a bonus action, whereas Rogue gets hide, disengage, and dash. I know rogue gets two of the three, but I can’t remember exactly which three.
@@HmmWelp it's more of a social/RP disadvantage rather than a combat disadvantage.
