I think the only way I could support my kid going into showbiz is if I kept a short leash, never left them alone with people, and kept a constant conversation about how they were feeling. Reinforce they would always be able to quit if they wanted to. Too many families rely on their actor kids to pay the bills, which is insane to me
7:29 Michael cera is a great example of this . From 2007-2010 dude had a pretty good movie resume with super bad , Scott pilgrim and Juno . Even tho he wasn’t exactly a child Star , he was 19-21 in that time period and I would say a big teen star. Ever since 2010, dude has been in like less then 5 movies . Cause everyone still sees him as that awkward teen character who’s now too old to play a teen . Maybe his role in Barbie can help turn his career around tho

you only get residuals if you have that in your contract and MOST child stars (from the 90s and below) didnt have that protection. nowadays things are much better but it was unheard of back then. also to get the residuals the shows HAVE to be airing on tv as these deals were made BEFORE streaming was a thing.

I blame the people who bullied Jake Lloyd from Elementary to College. That much verbal abuse can really mess someone up.

I think kids shouldn’t be allowed in this industry. Not until at least 15 years old
