- Holy guacamole!!!! we cannot even believe how much we found in the dumpsters last night!!! This is just crazy guys! I honestly will never get used to the waste, it is just insane!!! But we are so happy that we were able to save ALL OF THESE ITEMS FROM THE DUMPSTERS!! Beth and I were laughing the whole ride back to her car while items were falling into the front seat because my car was so packed full.... Hahaha. Any who I hope you all enjoy this video and dont forget if you do please dont forget to give this video a thumbs up! And if you have yet to subscribe please do so! Lots of great stuff!! My daughter just turned 40 in August. I will be 60 on Thanksgiving this year. I still dumpster dive. I would've put the costumes on a table outside our front porch with a FREE sign. They would disappear fast. Your absolutely wonderful for donating to places that need stuff. Hi Shannon... I learned a FANTASTIC stain remover probably 45 yrs ago or so in a syndicated article in the newspaper called 'Hints from Heloise'. I doubt you will remember her since you are only 39 yrs old, but she always had the best tips for what seemed like everything. And, we always had to read 'Hints from Heloise" even before reading 'Dear Abby' Hopefully you have atleast heard of Dear Abby... LOL...(Ann Landers was dear Abby's sister and also had a syndicated article along the same lines, I doubt that you would remember her though. I'm sure there are others here that remember them all like I do).
Anyways.... Heloise had a stain remover (recipe I guess for lack of a better name/word for it.) This stuff would get out darn near everything and it is super simple to make and use.It will get out everything from blood, to dirt/grass stains and everuthing in between
Hint's from Heloise Stain Remover
In a plastic Squeeze bottle that will hold about 30 ounces combine the following.
1 cup Dawn Dishwashing Liquid (Other brands don't seem to work)
1 cup Sudsing Ammonia
1 cup of water
Shake well to mix and leave in laundry room
This works best if it can be put on a stain as soon as it happens (especially with blood stains). squirt some of this solution to your stain and work in to the fabric. If you are not ready to wash a load of clothes, just throw it in the empty washer or in a laundry hamper until you are ready to wash. This does not have to be laundered right away. even if it dries, thats ok. The solution has it's time to work before it dries.
As a side note. Anytime you get a stain, most any kind of stain remover will help to some degree. However, once the stained item is dried in a dryer, the heat from the dryer will set in the stain and it will be very difficult to remove. Always try to treat a stain immediately if possible.

Peroxide is my go-to stain remover. Especially for blood🩸(my 2 boys are very active hunters/fishermen) no scrubbing needed, just spray peroxide & toss into the washer! Plus it’s color safe! I once sprayed an entire pair of expensive blue jeans & they came out looking brand new!💪🏻❤️

Nursing homes in my area have been requesting magazines for their residents. I went through mine and donated. They especially like getting ones for men. What a great night you had!
Nice haul ladies. Seeing those office chairs made me so mad. I need one but they're so pricey. So wasteful. Love it when you find stuff at the Home Goods store. They have beautiful but pricey items there.

Decorate that cake plate with faux greenery and holly berries then put some nice candles in it for a beautiful centre piece, this way you can hide the chipped piece that you can cover with tape or putty for safety
I love you!! I would contact your local children's hospital and see if they would like some of the costumes! I know the hospital l worked at the kiddos loved to dress up and for a few moments forgot all the bad and just be the sweet amazing kiddos they are 🥰😘
About 12 years ago my Dad and I found bags of costumes in the Halloween store dumpster. We packed it all away, unpacked it right before Halloween the following year. Held a yard sale with all costumes $1. We made $450 and had costumes left over.😎 Donated what was left to a thrift store.

Oh shoot! Also wanted to add, the pretty cake stand with the chipped edge would be pretty with hot glued garland around the edge, (you could even cover the sharp spot with duct tape b4 adding garland) with candles as a centerpiece for an island or table...🤷🏼♀️

Just wanted to let you know that if you are needing office chairs, you can order covers for them on Amazon for around $8. We did that for my husband's office chair and it looks great! (And it only takes a couple of minutes to put it on.) Easy peasy! Enjoy the good weather while it lasts!

The fancy plate/platter with the chunk out of it you wanted to use for Christmas Shannon. Glue some Christmas foliage/trimmings around it.......you will never see that it’s chipped and it will look lovely. Some nice white winter foliage would make that look amazing x

So lucky!!! Great finds!!! Here in my area of Florida they did not throw out anything from August through Halloween at any of those stores near me, there were 4 stores :/ I checked multiple times a week. They use Pack Rat units to store all the costumes until next year. Even after their final clean out I only found enough costumes to fill a garbage bag. But I'm happy that none of them were destroyed and they are all still in the original packaging 🙌🙌

Shannon-Children’s hospital will take the costumes. I scored at two different Spirit stores, so I had a ridiculous amount to donate. I also gave some of the child sized ones to a few local churches. Congratulations on your amazing score!!!!

Magazines, puzzle books, adult coloring books (with gel pens and markets if possible), anything that can help with boredom or offer distraction is a good donation for women's shelters. You wouldn't believe how boring it gets in the shelter! 😩 ... People also donate dvd movies.

Women and children in shelters need clothes too. Most women have to leave behind almost everything they own, including clothes, when they have to run from an abuser. (if not everything)
Someone even made up Mother's Day gift/treat boxes and dropped them off at the shelter in 2016. We all got a small bag of makeup and a voucher to a nearby salon for a haircut. I was so happy to get that! There was candy and potted seedling also. No one knew what kind of plant they got. Mine grew up to be a beautiful sunflower!

New here but you guys are real in what you find. There is a channel where the lady goes up to every dumpster and a big bag of new items is just waiting on her...Salvation Army does alot of good for many caueses...even help people pay utility bills..good job!!. About the chipped plate...buy some Fimo clay and mold it to the plate then bake according to instructions and then you could paint it or leave as is. The clay is about $2
School and community theater groups would love them.

I hear ya. Im 47 and waitress 5 days a week open to close. 1 waitress on a time. Its alot... this past weekend was like the summer. It was crazy and im a mom of 4. Lol nice diven.
Hey Shannon it's me again you know the big platter the cake plate if you haven't already thrown it away You can file that down with a nail file and put some of that pretty garland that you found around the outside edge and at candle holder in the middle and just put Christmas tree bulbs around it you know the pretty ornaments put those all around it that would be beautiful

Great idea! Fabric dye is actually pretty cheap & easy to do! Rit dye can be purchased in the laundry isle of Walmart even!
I was going to suggest that as well. I've dyed lots of things in order to save clothing even from stains. It's fun! Your girls might like to do that someday!

Who cares if a laundry basket liners have stains. Unless your putting them on display, use them as is.

How happy to see ya. My daughter moved to Duquesne & she is amazed how hilly it is in the area . She didn't pick the loaction her boyfriend had a relative in the area. But she has never lived out of Columbus Oh away from the family. But looks like you got a whole bunch of stuff. The liners that won't clean & I am happy someone is willing to make some replacements. You know to check about recalls on the dog food.
