- JoJo Siwa made "Dancing with the Stars" history this season by having a same-sex pro partner with Jenna Johnson Chmerkovskiy. Jenna explained how 18-year-old JoJo has been an ideal dance partner, and even though she was nervous to pair up with another woman, seeing JoJo's courage throughout the process has made her more brave as a person. The duo also took the stage to perform their energetic Cha Cha!

if you haven’t seen their work on dwts, do yourself a favor and see what magic they make. jojo is truly coming into her own and is doing a stellar job taking on partnering (which as a former dancer myself, i can confirm is much more difficult than doing solo or ensemble work). jenna is a brilliant choreographer and i absolutely love the bond these two have. jenna is the perfect mentor for jojo and has been such an amazing friend to her outside of practice and performances. i hope they stay friends for a long, long time because i think they really bring out the best in each other.

Agreed!! I'm a former dancer myself and I also take ballroom dancing lessons with my female coach and from what I can say is that ballroom dancing is a whole different animal!!!! you basically have to retrain your brain of everything you've been taught and learn a whole norther style of dance and not to mention learning partner work , staying in frame and different foot work. Being a dancer means nothing in the ballroom world. They are the perfect match

say what you want about Ellen but she crawled and walked and Ran so people like Jojo could be comfortable enough to come out and love who they are! role models and representation are so important and seeing them sitting across from each other is such an interesting moment to see because Ellen is looking into the eyes of the future she hoped to create and Jojo is doing the same for so many people out there. and allies like Jenna being there is a nice cherry on top!

Yes! She is so much lighter in her feet, not stomping or even singing the song as much. Their chemistry is a lot better to, they seem more connected, they look at each other more
@@stuff6462 Not being a dancer, I don't notice the "lightness" JoJo improved, just loved it in any case ! I can see how a dancer or aficionado would notice. Just amazed at the choreography and the physical work that goes into this !!!
