This video is perfect timing, the orchard up the road will soon have fresh asparagus and theirs is the best I've ever had. I laugh when I think of my childhood and my mom's weird kids who all loved asparagus and liver and onions along with other food my friends would turn their noses up to. Other mothers just couldn't figure it out, I think it was my mom who was an amazing cook and my parents started us out young and feed us well and didn't slather everything in cheese to make us eat vegetables. We have a definite appreciation for good food. I only mention this because I miss her so this time of year, spring was her favorite season. Thank You for this beautiful recipe I know she would have loved it.
I did the same thing with my kids. I cooked a large variety of foods and the only time I used cheese was when I made the baked mac&cheese. They are grown now and are doing the same thing with their kids. Turns out that my 2 oldest grandchildren love sushi and smoked oysters! LOL! Have an awesome day my friend.💕🌸💕✝️

I had a good friend, alas , passed, who came in 4th place in Master Chef, Las Vegas. He tried to encourage me to enter the contest. I'm too shy about my cooking. But, I did get a chance to meet Mr. Ramsey. He's really great in person. TY again. You are on the level of Ramsey!

I’m thinking I could also use this as a base, make twice as much garlic/paprika mix, cut up Yukon Gold or small potatoes, and add those to the pan while the asparagus is cooking (maybe adding a little more water and/or covering the pan). Or making a simple paella with the Arborio rice and asparagus in that sauce.
Fab! I really like asparagus and have been looking for a new recipe! Usually, I fry it in oil, garlic and some parmesan cheese. Some of the restaurants in Spain (where I live too) serve white asparagus.... It's not tasty! Love your dishes. X

Sorry, I have to disagree. Nothing beats fresh California asparagus boiled/steamed to a bright green, then cooled so that it stays 'al dente' and perfect for finger food. Perhaps serve it with a tasty dip, but that's it. We're going to prepare asparagus al dente for the meal after the Great Vigil of Easter on Holy Saturday. It's a great party. You should come some day. 😍
