I had a 276c when they first came out, best satnav Garmin ever made, so configrable. Only down side was it was bad to read in sunlight and if it got hot, the screen went dark.
Just found this. I received a whole 376c kit, and researching how to make it work in 2022 I found out the 276cx exists. Strong possibility I sell the 376c collection on eBay. I am after the serial data and hard-wired audio features, but actual routing and map sizes bigger than 512MB or 2GB would be pretty great!
I'm guessing from the menu that it doesn't give a tide chart, which is a bit of a shame. Do you know if the chart updates are free once you've bought charts? - I'm hoping so as the nautical charts are pretty expensive and having to re-buy them every year or two would be prohibitively expensive. Love your Honda Africa Twin , In 2012 if Honda would have had a big-bore adventure bike out I would have purchased one instead of the 2012 Yamaha Super Tenere I purchased. The Tenere was a great bike , but I prefer Honda.
Hallo Kai-Uwe Super Video! Danke hierfür. Jetzt habe ich mich mal richtig gefreut, dass es endlich mal wieder ein großes motorradtaugliches Navi von Garmin gibt, bei dem die Wegpunkte auf der Karte identifizierbar sind. Bei den Zumos sieht man ja nur noch Herzchen oder andere Symbole und keine Namen der Wegpunkte auf der Karte, was ziemlich ungeschickt ist. Jedesmal, wenn man ein Herzchen auf der Karte sieht, weiß man, dass man da was gespeichert hat, aber nicht, was genau. Man muss drauf tippen, um an den Namen zu kommen (So ein Schwachsinn auf dem Motorrad) Nun sehe ich, dass Du einen Wegpunkt 000Home nennst, damit der ganz oben ist. Schon bei den allerersten Garmin Modellen konnte man einstellen, dass die Wegpunkte nach Entfernung vom eigenen Standort sortiert werden. Sag mir jetzt nicht, dass das nicht mehr geht. Das würde das Navi ja sowas von verschlechtern. Man hat ja irgendwann viele Wegpunkte in mehreren Gebieten und man will ja, wenn man an einem Urlaubsort, an dem man schonmal war, die Wegpunkte von dort ganz oben in der Suchliste haben und nicht nach Alphabet sortiert. Wenn ich nach Rom fahre und mir da 2 Restaurants, 2 Motorradshops und 3 Unterkünfte abgespeichert habe, will ich die doch, wenn ich mal in Rom bin ganz oben in der Liste haben in der Wegpunkte-Suche. Wie soll ich die sonst finden? Ist ja Mist, wenn man sich ein "Benamungssystem" ausdenken muss, damit man seine Punkte findet.

Ist wie du sagst: ich will sehen um was es sich da handelt: Geocache, Sehenswürdigkeit, Gefahrpunkt, Beginn einer Routenalternative...? Alles nur als grünes Herzchen ist nutzlos. Aber die 390iger sind halt nur gemacht um sich automatisch von A nach B führen zu lassen. Vielleicht mach ich am Wochenende ein Video Teil 2!

How about riding high ways or so... Is it fast enough to warn you before turns, when using City Navigator? Best regards Jan
I actually wish the buttons were sticking out a little further. Unlike the old 276, the 276CX's buttons will sometimes stick in snowy weather. Very frustrating, and they're hard to get out when that happens.
Great review. I have a 378 and I'm going to buy the 276cx. Please tell me. Do you recommend the 276cx over the old one or shall I just keep my 378. Thank you
Nasser Al-momen In short: if you have already a 278c and are happy with both the screen and the available memory space then I don't see much reason to invest in a 278cx!

I was wondering if you could help me with that, I just bought a 276cx and i could not and am having some difficulties with the track field. i would like the unit only shows me the map, without recording, without showing the track log on the scream. When i select STOP, it still shows the track log. Any idea how to solve that as i can do this with the 64st for example. I look forward to hearing from you. Best
Yes, you can switch off the track in the map. When you are in the map screen press menu > map setup > line tab > track log > off! I guess (=have not tried it yet) the track will still be recorded, but not shown on the map! :-)

Hallo Kai. Vielen Dank für dein Video. Ich habe kürzlich einen 276Cx gekauft und bemerkte das Gleiche, was du bei Minute 28 gesagt hast. Das heißt, der Kreisverkehr wird bei Annäherung oder im Inneren nicht vergrößert (gezoomt). Das GPS278 war viel besser. Aber die Frage ist: Hast du das (wie du im Video sagst) bei Garmin reklamiert? Sie haben bereits ein Update (4.60) veröffentlicht, aber dieser Fehler ist nicht behoben. Ich danke dir. Gruß, Belteky
Good review however I think you should have changed the device language to English since the review is in English. It would be nice to see all the menu options in English.
You are absolutely right, it would have been more useful to switch the menus to English. I totally forgot that since I am using English, German and Swedish evenly every day. Next time..., promissed!
Thank you for the interesting video. Can I connect my 276Cx to the internet via my mobile and using it as online navigator? this is to receive the traffic information and roads updated information.....
No, that does not work. If the GPS has a connection to the www it can e g receive weather information, but I doubt it receives current traffic ststus - would need to check that somehow. It will also show you if someone calls and icoming sms, but now I am getting this information also on the TFT Display of my KTM. The whole connectivity thing was not very reliable from the beginning but then suddenly it worked, but there are still quite a few usefull things that Garmin could implement (like the traffic status).
Garrett Hart I have so far quite a good communication with garmin, who showed serious interest to solve the priblem of the missing roundabout info. Howeverno solution so far, but have not checked recently if thereis a fw update available!
If the review is in English then it would be helpful to have the unit set up in english as it's otherwise difficult to follow what is going on in the menus
Now you know how it feels when you guys use your weird units. All the world is expected to translate imperial to metric. But when it's the other way around one single time people start complaining....
