Curious how frequently one should change an air filter in a dusty climate?
One could assume the interval is decreased. I am a fan of vacuuming the filter housing as well.

Thank you for your comment 😊As per BMW agency here in dubai they change every 40k kms, I would say thats fine and as you said cleaning every 10k or even 20k midway would be a good practice. Specially that as you see it’s easy to take out and put back. All the best! 🤝

My dealer was going to charge me $200 for this. I only asked the price because I was in the process of getting my free oil change. He said $200 🤣

Isn't that too much time for a filter change? 40k km? What about the other filters: microfilter (AC filter), Engine Oil filter and Fuel filter? Thanx

For Engine air filter its usually changed every major service (that’s every 40k kms).
Engine oil filter is changed much more frequently depending on what oil you use (e.g. 5k kms oil, 10k kms oil, 15k kms oil ....etc)
I personally use 5w30 twin turbo BMW genuine oil and Bosch oil filter, that’s changed every 10-12k
I dont have experience with fuel filters tbh
      Hope this helps :)

Btw you can clean the engine air filter with air pressure every 10-20k ... that would make ur car run better and the filter to last for longer.

@@burnablesnippets5431 thanks for the replies, what about the microfilter?

@@vladc.5311 I change it every 60-80k, It depends on the weather condition you usually drive in, the more sand/dust/bugs the shorter its lifetime

Hi Thomas it’s true the Engine was really dirty after quarantine and lockdown, Its cleaned now. Didn’t like you calling me “filthy” though, keep it civil and remember, you take good care of the car, the car takes good care of you.

Wrong, anyone would check the right part for their car with the chassis number like its routine with any spare parts seller. Good luck
