I love the detailed embarkation vids. There needs to be more of them on youtube in regards to the process at different ports. Going on the Venezia in a few weeks.

I've never thought about a cruise from New York. That sounds incredible. The mass confusion checking in would be wild but once you are on the ship it's beautiful. I'm looking forward to following your adventures.
Thank you! Never realized how cool the NY Harbor was until now that I am making videos. It’s so beautiful! In years past I was at the lido deck pool parties getting hammered! Lol I have tho take some time to see what you have been up to. Are you still filming universal studios?
I have done many cruises and my main suggestion is show up at the port later in the morning when most will have already shown up. The longest waits are between 10-12. When we arrive closer to 12 the lines are virtually gone, the boarding process is fast and the food on deck is easier to get to since most guest have already eaten and are now exploring the ship. A bonus is most likely my cabin is ready as well.
I’m so going to take your advice and do this next time :) the edginess of the crowd around me
Being annoyed with the wait was a bad way to start the trip. I’d prefer to walk on last like I do when I fly! Lol great advice thank you
Going out of New York is special. The Statue of Liberty, going under the bridge always fun. A smaller ship is good, less walking. Kelli is a pip! Great video Jen. So much info. and great pointers.

Cruising from NYC is awesome.
The only sailaway I’m on deck for.
FYI - cruise lines offer wheelchair assistance for embarkation / debarkation for those that have a hard time standing extended periods.
Just let them know when you book (as wheelchairs are first come, first served). Then, once you get to the port, let the first employee you see know.
I’ve never had a problem.

Did you preregister your boarding info online? After over 16 Carnival cruises I have found embarkation to go pretty smooth these days. Hand the luggage over to a porter, take our carry on with us and show passports and boarding passes and on to the ship. I know there was a ramp issue for you but it sounds like you may not have been prepared.
Amen to that. Life is to short.
And how.. this has been something we said we would do since we were married back in the 90’s. Got to make those goals happen! Thanks for hanging with us 😊

Now I’m going on this in July 2024
NY, DR , Turks and Bahamas for 8 days
I always board after 1 pm. No lines.
11 days in November to 5 different ports. Grand Turk, PR, DR St. Thomas and St. Maarten.. can't wait. Thank you for the great video

Great video, however your Canadian stop is Saint John, my home town. There is a huge difference between Saint Jihn & St. Johns, NL

This ship looked amazing. We used to sail out of Florida but….well, that’s just a nightmare now so we’re looking for an alternative. I’m considering booking the NY > Halifax > Bermuda trip 😊
If you don’t like your entree, they’ll bring you something else. You can get as many entrees or appetizers that you’d like

thanks for this video about the embarkation process. I'm from CT and I'll be taking a Metro North train into the city on embarkation day and then a taxi from Grand Central to the cruise terminal. My question is, if you get dropped off on that 2nd level are there porters there to take the luggage? I've read that there are porters on the street level. I wasn't sure if we'll have to take the elevators down a level to get our bags dropped off, and then go back upstairs for cruise check in.
I always do wheelchair assistance to get on and off.
Smart idea. I would def have to do that if I ever bring my mom. Too much walking/standing

Yea fills up fast! We always went early or when the boat was docked somewhere.
Pass on this ship , would never again cruise with her from NY,, felt like the streets of Brooklyn

Closed loop cruises (besides one way cruises and all Virgin Voyages), does not require a passport. Just wanted to clear that up.
How was it? Did you like Halifax, Sydney and St. John? Any suggestions?

LOL I got slammed for that mistake. Funny back story.. the first cruise I ever took was called the “big red boat” I never realized it was error to call a ship a boat because of that. People

I don’t know. I didn’t realize that was a option. They were having gangway problems. Caused a big delay boarding I am assuming for everyone. Sure it is fine by now
For the money you pay for a Carnival Cruise the overall experience is good. Please, do not compare Carnival to Royal Caribbean or Norwegian because usually you these two companies are more expensive than Carnival and therefore, your overall expectations should be higher than what you should expect from a Carnival Cruise. The one and only thing I did not like about Carnival Venezia is that the smoke from the Casino spreads throughout many decks and areas. If you are nonsmoker or traveling with kids, I wouldn’t recommend this about unless Carnival fixes this serious issue.
Totally agree! Yea the smoking was rough in there I went to the casino at 4 am lol
We went on the Venezia three weeks ago for 8 days. We too are from CT. We were on our 7th cruise. Not a good experience. This ship is not for a NYC crowd. Pools too small, adults clamoring for the Serenity area. Sail away delayed 1 1/2 hours. Debarkation took 1 1/2 hours because there was a problem with the port facilities. Steak house good, Guys burgers good. Specialty coffees good. Main dining room ok. Buffet breakfast the same every day except one day french toast, one day pancakes. Could only get bacon 2 out of the 8 days. Food was cold. The only hot things were the omelets and the oatmeal was lukewarm. We had to get up at 6 to get an adult Serenity chair. Entertainment theatre ok. Comedians ok. Music in the bars were good. White party one night was good. MANY people we met saying they won’t go back to Carnival and will stay with Royal Caribbean. Totally turned off from Carnival.
Hi! Thanks for sharing your experience with me. Cool! Where in CT are you from? We live in Shelton. I was looking at that particular cruise too but it was too long. My husband has a landscaping business and I was already pushing my limits with the 5 day cruise. I totally agree with everything you mentioned. We enjoyed the steakhouse too and the burgers are our favorite place for a lunch. We were prob lucky with serenity. Had our choice of seats the 3 times we went. We didn’t try on the day at sea tho. We were up there during docking times and a rainy day lol I will have to try RC sometime seems like a lot of people like it.

Loved the video, but I have to say, unless the Venezia uses a different name, it's not the Chocolate Lava Cake. They actually call it CARNIVAL’S MELTING CHOCOLATE CAKE

Please please call it a ship. It is not a boat. Boat are small.like a fishing boat. Or ferry boat. These are ships. Cruise ships. I did really enjoy this video. We are sailing this ship out of NYC soon and this was good info.
Glad you enjoyed the video. I didn’t know calling it a boat would upset anyone. The first cruise I ever took in the 80s was called the Big Red Boat. It was a Disney cruise.
