The 80's cannot be the 80's without Tangerine Dream. The Keep, Risky Business, Thief, Near Dark, Legend. So many great movies with fantastic soundtracks

"She said she we wanted to make love on a train." One of the greatest intimate movie scenes produced. So many elements capturing the moment and still able to send chills throughout the nerves with a mesmerizing melody. Simply amazing.
Timeless would neither mean ahead of, not behind time. It refers to something that is not conventionally bounded by the 4th dimension with regard to style and design...that is what you are referring to.
I don't know what I'd do without this song. It's so captivating, majestic, extraordinary, otherworldly, magical...good for a good mood, a bad mood, or a pensive one. This song has real soul that I cannot explain, just feel.
I was about the same age of the characters when RB came out. It evoked every feeling that I had when I was a young adult, coming into my own. Whoever created this film, was capable of recreating emotions and settings of that period of life. Brilliant film....
This song is about desire hiding beneath the surface we conceal to be appropriate in society. But, our real desires are just below that line. This song erases the line. And it's sexy as hell.
This is the first time in awhile I’ve gotten chills at least four times within the middle of the song, this song to me feels like it’s opening some passage way into my brain causing different emotions to pass by it’s a very odd feeling
This takes me back to a time when I was a teenager, learning what life was about, going to the mall with my friends, being shy of ladies (still am). My first crushes, dreaming of what the future holds and just being free. Miss those days. My parents were still alive. Thank you
Kraftwerk's "Computer World" may have been the seed from which my appreciation of electronic music was first planted, but that appreciation would never have flourished had it not been for the strong root system provided by the robust ambient mastery of Edgar Froese and Tangerine Dream, first with the mesmerizing soundtrack to "Risky Business." Rest in peace, sir. You were a musical scientist -- a stark raving mad one to some, a sublime genius to others -- never afraid to experimentally push the envelope, and you broadened the horizons of my aural landscape immeasurably.
Both Kraftwerk and TD are legends, both responsible for the electronic music we have today. TD influenced the more ambient stuff, while Kraftwerk helped with some of the darker, repetitive patterns. One musician, Perturbator, reminds me of TD greatly, especially in his more ambient tracks (Minuit, Naked Tongues, Sentient)
ive said it maybe 50 times over the past 15 years or so ive known this song. ( i knew about it when i was a kid too, but never learned the name of it until about 15 years ago) - that this is the ABSOLUTE PINNACLE of music. It is genious, it is incredibly hypnotic, it is esoteric, it is completely otherwordly, and there is really not much else to say. Definite number one of all number ones in every genre, every age, in human history. THE number one. THE.
After not hearing this in years, just heard it at the end of tonight's episode of Mr. Robot. What an outstanding background for Elliot's hypnotic monotone.
rvmvadati Yeah. I Suppose We Can All think of that Special Someone We’d Like To Be On the Train With. The Problem With the Construct is It Wont Let You.
People think there's one reality but there's loads of them, all snaking off, like roots. And what we do on one path affects what happens on the other paths. Time is a construct. People think you can't go back and change things, but you can, that's what flashbacks are, they're invitations to go back and make different choices. When you make a decision, you think it's you doing it, but it's not. It's the spirit out there that's connected to our world that decides what we do and we just have to go along for the ride. Mirrors let you move through time. The government monitors people, they pay people to pretend to be your relatives. And they put drugs in your food. And they film you. There's messages in every game. Like Pac-Man. Do you know what PAC stands for? P-A-C: Program and Control. He's Program and Control Man, and the whole thing's a metaphor, he thinks he's got free will but really he's trapped in a maze, in a system, all he can do is consume, he's pursued by demons that are probably just in his own head, and even if he does manage to escape by slipping out one side of the maze, what happens? He comes right back in the other side. People think it's a happy game, it's not a happy game, it's a fucking nightmare world and the worst thing is it's real and we live in it. It is all code. If you listen closely, you can hear the numbers. There's a cosmic flowchart that dictates where you can and where you can't go. I've given you the knowledge. I've set you free. Do you understand?

I'm amazed I never heard this song before. All of a sudden many of favorite songs from the 80's can be traced back to this incredibly sleek, yet beautiful track.
My friend gave me the RB soundtrack on CD back in '85 when it was an "import", and cost like $25. I still have it, and it was just phenomenal! And it was the first re-birth of "In the Air Tonight". Obviously, Miami Vice vaulted that tune into the stratosphere!
Great tune, well ahead of its time. Great film as well to be honest, the scene with Rebecca Demornay and Tom Cruise on the train is a brilliant piece of cinema
I've listened to it on my headphones while snowmobiling into our family cabin during a snow storm at midnight and about negative 20 degrees outside. I wasn't doing 100 but it sure made the ride in so much cooler. It would give me goose bumps.
This song makes me feel a way I can’t explain? It makes me look at my life and realise I have so much more to do and see. This song has no lyrics but speaks so much to me
