Dude, you saved me a ton of time and money. Didn't need to watch more than 3 minutes to realize I plugged the damn DVI cable to the wrong port and that's what caused my issue... Thanks for going through all the "basics" before delving into the deep shit. (Haven't owned a PC for 25 years so I'm a bit "off") 😅
One thing you forgot was to swap the ram over into different slots, if you have them in the "incorrect" slots, it may bootup with onboard GPU but the dedicated GPU won't like it.
A tip for people having problems with the 550ti from palit, this gpu has shitty thermal paste from the factory that will dry up over time. If you get no display on that gpu replace the thermal paste and it should be working just fine after that
I watched this series, like the motherboard, the rams, and this one like 6 months ago, and never look back to "how to fix no signal". And thanks to you, i figured out that my 4year old gpu finally dead. Bought new one and my pc life once again The beep (neither three beeps for a missing ram and single beep for working properly) and test from my motherboard that has it own graphic card gave me proof that my 4 years old GT630 finally dead.
To fix this problem is find the manufacture or brand of the motherboard also find the model as well then search it on google your model with "beep code" Then u will see the code of what they saying,and no this is not a gpu problem

No, He's only talking about P.O.S.T. (power on self test) which occurs before windows is even booting up. He's only checking for hardware issues not software.
I would have laughed so hard if the monitor turned on when he turned on the computer with the dead video card in it (even though the monitor wasn't connected).
If you have a gpu back plate that’s why because that’s a cooling method but if you don’t and if you just have fans whenever you boot up your fans should spin if they don’t check pcie connections and check psu connections

First of all. Thanks for your amazing tutorial. Since I can see that you know a lot about these issues I want to ask you something. I have a gtx 1060 6 gb and I am having some issues with it. I was playing metro and the game suddenly crashed but the screen had no signal. Then I restarted the PC and it kept on working a little bit so I tried running the game again and the game did not even load when it creashed again. I restarted again the PC and when it was loading windows I did not have any signal on the screen and the fans sounded really loud. I have not been able to use the video card ever since but I can use the onboard graphics to have access to the PC. Once I could get into the PC I checked the eventvwr ad I noticed that there were problems wth DWM.EXE, so I think that when windows tries to load the visual effects used by AERO the graphics card crashes. Is it my video card? Or could it be my PSU?... My PSU is relatively old, it is like 7 years old and it is a THERMALTAKE TR2 430 Watts... The GPU requests 400 watts as the minimum wattage and the rig was working fine for about 1 month. Thanks for any suggestion or piece of advice.

@@cmonbruh9144 I fix it exchanging the GPU card. Before I was thought my PSU not enough power or the PCI cable not working. Everything works fine just my GPU dead, maybe GPU used for long the board is dead. It does power up and GPU fan spinning at high speed.

I know this a somewhat old video, but referring to the externally powered gpu.. If my psu was plugged into my graphics card BUT it wasnt sending proper voltage, or any at all, would it act as if there was no graphics card present? Using a EVGA Ge force GTX 1070 and last night I cleaned my pc and took the case apart but didn't remove any wires. Today I go to turn pc on and the fans under the graphics card will do a half spin and stop and I have no display on monitor. On the m board I have a red light on the CPU LED. Video signal returned thanks. Two graphics cards, one with drivers and the other without! Disconnected the power to the driver supported card and the video signal went to the other card. Other than that perhaps the front USB cables were in the wrong mobo connections(?)

I’m building my own pc. I finished up everything and everything seemed to work nicely when I turned on but I got no display on it. Of course I did everything possible on TH-cam and still nothing so I bought a new mother board and still the same ( used new cables, took graphics card out and try to make it work on the cpu alone not sure if that’s possible with new motherboards checked connection etc etc even tried some cmos reset. Posting this comment before watching the video.. I wanted to swap my motherboard out for a better one, long story short i swapped the mb's and the computer would turn on without gpu in (i have previously used this motherboard n gpu together) as soon as i put the gpu in and turn on, no power up but the LED's come on for the gpu to say that its receiving power, i take the gpu out and it powers up, long story short couldnt get the comp to power up when adding the gpu So ive now swapped back to my old mb and now the same problem again, when adding the gpu to the old mb cant get it to power up and now when i take out the gpu it powers up but when pressing the power button to turn it off it wont turn off... I know most people will probably say the gpu is faulty or dead but its not cus it worked fine today before i swapped anything out, of course you can say static elec has damaged it but thats not the case either, as i have this problem before with this gpu and the computer not booting (what i did to fix it last time was take everything out put it back together again and it magically just worked)

Hey, i have laptop,Asus Rod Strix GL 503 with GTX 1060. How can tell if the gpu is broken? Only issue is that it drops FPS with every game and all games are slow and sluggish but otherwise it is working normally. Can it be graphic chip or sometihng else? I already updated gpu driver of course it did not helped at all. Also power setting are same when it worked just fine.

hi i just so happen to have the same problem with my graphics card sometimes, when i press the power button but nothing on the display and usually what i would do is just re-seat the card cause its just a gigabyte gt 730 at the moment, really low end card

I know this a somewhat old video, but referring to the externally powered gpu.. If my psu was plugged into my graphics card BUT it wasnt sending proper voltage, or any at all, would it act as if there was no graphics card present? Right now I'm having an issue where everything on my PC works except when I plug in my graphics card. I can plug in a pcie powered graphics card and it posts just fine. But when i try and use my graphics card with psu power I get no display.
I have a question sir, if the power suplly isnt connect to the pin but connected to the pci e slot would the computer not be able to detect the hardware?

i have gt 710 nvidia. when bios is set to pcie 16 video configuration, no display. but computer boots up fine .when i set to onboard graphics with attached video card, it boots up fine. i can install all nvidia drivers even use nvidia control panel.but when i connect my monitor to cards vga i get no display?is videocard dead then why it appearing in device manager? it says working properly.and also i have msi gaming plus b 360 motherboard that has a led indicator in pcie slot. according to the manual of board. red light shows running in 16x mode white shows 8x mode..i see white led after i start computer? why is it running in 8x mode? i tested another card gt730 on same slot it woks fine with red indication showing display? is my graphics card dead i need quick reply......
Using a EVGA Ge force GTX 1070 and last night I cleaned my pc and took the case apart but didn't remove any wires. Today I go to turn pc on and the fans under the graphics card will do a half spin and stop and I have no display on monitor. On the m board I have a red light on the CPU LED. Any advice on what I might have done?
Video signal returned thanks. Two graphics cards, one with drivers and the other without! Disconnected the power to the driver supported card and the video signal went to the other card. Other than that perhaps the front USB cables were in the wrong mobo connections(?)
9:27, you took out the wires from gpu. I have them plugged in and i have no display. Sometimes my gpu gets loud

my pc is powering up but my monitor shuts down, after 5 - 6 times that I try to power up the monitor I manage to finally turn it on... this means that monitor is dying ?
I’m building my own pc. I finished up everything and everything seemed to work nicely when I turned on but I got no display on it. Of course I did everything possible on TH-cam and still nothing so I bought a new mother board and still the same ( used new cables, took graphics card out and try to make it work on the cpu alone not sure if that’s possible with new motherboards checked connection etc etc even tried some cmos reset. Now i thought it might be the bios setting somehow corrupted that;s why i got a new board but it didn’t seem like it.
Please give me something to try.

Update here, even tho it says attach only the 6 head power cable, i needed all of them to get it working.
@Neon k same things happening to me, my pc seemed to boot up perfectly, all the fans are running and it seems fine but it won’t show a display on my monitor, my monitor works with my PS4 fine but it won’t work with my PC, I’ll let you know if I find a fix because I have to same problem..
@@eliteellis9003 i did fix it. as it turns out, i needed to put power on all of the gpu plugs even tho it said in the manual only 6 of them.
While watching this video my gpu just startede working.. LOL

I wanted to swap my motherboard out for a better one, long story short i swapped the mb's and the computer would turn on without gpu in (i have previously used this motherboard n gpu together) as soon as i put the gpu in and turn on, no power up but the LED's come on for the gpu to say that its receiving power, i take the gpu out and it powers up, long story short couldnt get the comp to power up when adding the gpu
So ive now swapped back to my old mb and now the same problem again, when adding the gpu to the old mb cant get it to power up and now when i take out the gpu it powers up but when pressing the power button to turn it off it wont turn off...
I know most people will probably say the gpu is faulty or dead but its not cus it worked fine today before i swapped anything out, of course you can say static elec has damaged it but thats not the case either, as i have this problem before with this gpu and the computer not booting (what i did to fix it last time was take everything out put it back together again and it magically just worked)
Hello, i have AMD HD 6670 GPU, my issue is when i connect GPU to motherboard and plug in DVI cable and start computer it wont give me any display but the interesting thing is fan spinning slow and getting faster and slower and it goes this way.

@@HealMyTech1 Yes, i tried on another motherboard, 2 times pc goes on, when its goes on GPU fan is working normal speed, is there any chance the problem is the GPU's heat sensor?

Your PSU may not have enough power for everything if it's only 450W

@@HealMyTech1 so far I checked all my cables power cables, HDMI cable, All my Rams i did not find any trouble in any of them but i'm not able to check my power supply and My Graphic card which is ( MSI GTX 660 2GB ) used one* the reason is simple bucause i didn't have much Equiments to check my power supply and GPU to be honest man i'm lost little bit over here because my power supply seems fine bucause everything in pc is working so it means the power supply is providing the power but about the gpu i'm little bit worried about my power supply 6 pin connector bucause when 6 pin connector is plugged in my graphic card it's fan starts running fast but when i unplugged the 6 pin connector from my Graphic Card i see the same reaction i think my power supply 6 pin connector is broken i don't know if that's possible also before this accident my graphic card fan never run like this one more thing i try VGA Cable in inBoard Graphics it worked it starts displaying but it did not worked when i plugged VGA CABLE in my graphic card no display again i hope my graphic card is not broken because i have spent all my budget on that graphic card i hope it's fine 😕also i'm not even to sleep for 3 nights straight bucause i can't help myself worrying about my pc
My graphic card fan dosent turn and there is no display..did you say that it could be static discharge causing the problem ?

@@ryana2226 hey man, was your manufacturer sapphire? My Rx 580 pulse edition turns on sometimes like after a day when I leave it unused but shuts off itself after some seconds. I spent ton of time but can't find any solution. Your help would be appreciated mate.

Im not sure if you read comments after you posted this so long ago but my pc that i built myself turned on, ran for hours, i downloaded a bunch of updates and games and software, and it turned off. I tried turning it back on and got a white light on my mobo meaning vga error.

Hey, i have laptop,Asus Rod Strix GL 503 with GTX 1060. How can tell if the gpu is broken? Only issue is that it drops FPS with every game and all games are slow and sluggish but otherwise it is working normally. Can it be graphic chip or sometihng else? I already updated gpu driver of course it did not helped at all. Also power setting are same when it worked just fine.
What if i have the video cable plugd on the motherboards gpu, i have an externa gpu installed and my screen turns on when i have it plugd in the on board gpu (when i plug it the external gpu no screen. +my external gpu fans don t spin, the pc boots in windows just fine when i lock on device manager it shows an unknown device. (the gpu it s compatibile it s a sapphire nitro r9 380 4g on an Asus m4a89gtd pro/usb3 and an 500w power supplye from segotep BP500w 80 plus bronze. (the power supplye it s new)

Hdmi is for both video and audio, more modern, DVI is old and only for video...

Help me pls, so whenever I have the graphics card installed it will not show anything, but if I will unplug the dvi cable and plug a vga cable to the motherboard the display will show up. I thought if you'll install a gpu the cable should be plugged in there but why is mine the other way around?

Brother my gigabyte 1050ti' s (low profile) fan don't spin even temp reaches 85 degrees. Also tried with softwares like msi afterburner but didn't worked, fan is working when i tested it with the battery, but don't spin when attach to the gpu's pcb. Can you help?
Ive got a crazy one... this core i5 hp pc.... will turn on just fine for a few hours then shuts down power cycles , fails to boot then beeps 4 times... ive done everything i know except change the Processor, however wait for a day or two return everything as it was it turns on just fine but guaranteed it do the same ..... what could be the issue?
hi brother, i build a pc for my sisterand put in a gtx 760 in it. it wont work on the x16 slot but only on x4. i tried the same x16 slot with an hd 5870 and it works fine and the gtx 760 works in my pc fine idk what is happening the 600w psu ist good to pls help
My problem is when I turn everything on, gpu starts, computer boots but about 10 seconds later the gpu fans turn off and screen goes black. When I go to boot menu or bios settings the screen doesn’t turn off.

My gt710 dosent work. When I turn on the pc with GPU in its fans spins and all but dosent post. Without GPU the pc beeps the issue occured this month. It's not working. Is my GPU dead? Like it works randomly always
