Thank you for working on old Chrysler Pacifica it is so hard to find videos and we plan to keep ours for many years to come. Look forward to more of your videos
Thanks so much! I showed my boyfriend this video and it was the exact problem his 2008 Chrysler Pacifica had. He was so worried his transmission had died. I still am shocked to see that flimsy little pink plastic part in there. My boyfriend sent for a metal one to replace it. Thanks SO MUCH!!!❤😊
THAT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED TO SEE!!! Totally fixed the problem. Show how to remove the cables better, struggled with the spurred tabs till I figured out it was a simple process of prying the spurred tabs back, but THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!
This was the exact fix for my problem! Video was easy enough to follow. Saved me at least 2 hours worth of labor at a repair shop and the cost of a tow. Thank you so much!
Thanks so much for making this video. I watched it, and was able to make the SAME repair nearly exactly the same way and had everything completed in about an hour. Perfect!
Loved the step by step, articulated with a great speed of speech. And we found the spring laying in the bottom of the console cavity and the pink piece broken as you indicated. Thanks a bazillion. ( thanks little one for your patience while I borrow your daddy's tech skills)
Ohhhhh my I can't thank you enough this video gave me everything I needed to fix my car and definitely saved me approximately 600.00 bucks for that I am more than grateful god bless you
This def helped me remedy my solution but this happened to me while i was far out from home and i jimmy rigged the issue, temporarily by literally just pushing back on that pink part w my hands it allowed me to shift n make it home w/o requiring to pay an expensive and unnecessary tow charge, your vid helped provide the solution and avoid paying a mechanic so in total i probably spent about 20bucks n an hr of my time probably saving me $180 tow plus the $125 mechanic fee so u saved me atleast 100+ i owe you a few beers bud 👍🏽 thanks for posting
D.R.A.R....!!! you rock man...this worked beautifully!...missed an appt this a.m. but will now be able to make the later appt....did the zip tie trick...thanks soon much for the time to make the vid!
Great video! Appreciate all the detailed explanations. (For a non-mechanic, there could even be a few more details such as size of bolts needed to remove items and the like.) I couldn't find the tiny spring, so I'm going to order one.
Amazing video. Short, thorough, easy to understand, with great camera angles. I couldn't find your Amazon link for the unit in the description but I found it on Ebay. Wish I could have given you a commission though.
Great job and description on what to do , you just saved my dad a bunch of money not having to Tow it and have somebody possibly scamming them for a trans rebuild . I was able To get it into drive and get her home to fix the little spring mount . Just like you described. Thank you very much
Great informative video. All the other videos I watched to fix my Pacifica shifter problem were inferior if not useless. Other posters take note: THIS IS HOW TO MAKE A HELPFUL VIDEO! Many thanks
This video helped me fix my pacifica! A metal replacement + spring for the pink lever he rigs together was about $20 online. NOTE: You must tension the pink/metal(replacement) lever towards the front of the shifter assembly BEFORE you snap it back together. There is a tab on the lever that must be on one side of another tab on the shifter or else it will not be able to move!!!
I work at AutoZone and a lady came in to have her charging system tested and it literally failed in our parking lot! This video is gold! How long should I expect the whole process to take?
This helped me fix my main problem shifting gears But now I cannot get my key out of the Ignition because the one wire is not moving. Any ideas how to fix this
This video was amazing. Solved the problem with a zip tie just as you did. However... My key is stuck now! What do I do? Update: I don't know what these parts are called so forgive me 😆 The key was stuck and the solution was to first find that brake wire looking thing that plugged into the pink part in the video with the little spring. There's a larger spring away from that idk towards the engine. The white cap needs popped off then you tighten it then pop it pack on. Key came out! Awesome video!!!!
just curious first time doing this but if i wanted to change the whole thing out what would it be called n where would i be able to find the whole part at?
Can you make a video on what to do if the key won’t come out of the ignition? I’ve tried moving the shifter and the steering wheel but it release the key

Is it also called the transmission shift ? Because this just happened to me and I'm getting different names when I go to look up the part to order.
Yes it could be. Sometimes these kinds of parts can be difficult to find the terminology each vendor uses.

What's that pink piece called that holds the spring? Mine broke like the one in this video
Not sure what it’s called. I just fixed mine as shown in the video.
@@DirtRoadAutoRepair I looked up gear shifter parts and it said it's called a shift interlock with spring
But to fix mine I used a small paperclip and superglue lol, still works a few weeks later
Thank you it worked 😊

What bit did you use to make the hole?
I don’t remember for sure. 1/8” maybe?

Yes but block up your wheels just to be safe.
