Watches video, orders mod, it arrives and gets fitted and am super happy with it. If anyone is wondering, Yes it works with the RICMOTEC Short Shifter Mod. Both together transform the TH8A. Thanks Barry ✌👍
Barry, thank you SO much for these videos. I am not mechanically inclined, and can do things like this with guidance but am lost without guidance. I assembled my P1-X and just put on this Clixbeetle GT with watching your videos step by step. I literally would not have attempted assembling either one if I didn't know I could watch your videos to guide me, so thank you and you are my favorite sim racer!
Bought the Clixbeetle GT two weeks ago. Mine arrived today. Looked for SRG's video about the older one for installation advice and there's a video for the new one. Perfect timing.
Finished installing mine. Feels a lot tighter than what it seems like from your demonstration. Not sure if I don't put enough grease but I did put a lot. The ball bearings are factory calibrated (according to the manual) so I didn't touch the ball bearings. I did pushed the clip down to make it tighter. That's probably why, probably not a good idea. Or I simply have weaker wrists than yours.
I bought this product as soon as I saw this show. I am retired and drive several hours every day. I drive a lot of American Truck Simulator and Dirt Rally 2.0 with my TH8A as well as GT Sport. I try and drive with my "H" pattern all the time. I was worried about the plastic breaking down, but it is still working perfectly. I did use some cheap thread locker on the screws since they did come loose the first time. I wish it was all metal bodied, but so far so good.
I’m a huge fan of all your videos. Thank you for them. I just bought this and it came in today and what I did was 1 click to hold the clixbeetle in place then put the fabric cover on and the other click on top of that to keep it from rising up. Seems to work really well so far. Thanks again for your videos
@@markweatherall7437 I feel the gt will be more durable than the pro since there's no metal plate in the middle. Since the shaft for the th8a is metal it might wear down the pro faster than the gt.
My shifter had a very tight-fitting cable tie with very little of it to get cutters onto. I had to melt it off with a soldering iron. I inadvertently melted a small hole in the cloth, as it came in contact withe the side of the soldering iron shaft, so try and avoid this if you also have to try the melt-off option. Also, the plastic ring on the cloth cover fell off very easily. It has 2 parts that I will try to re-attach. I don't think these issues are critical but they did come up for me.
I wonder why grease the front and back of the Clixbeetle body if there's an issue with the unit riding up the shaft. Isn't greasing those spots actually working against the retainer clip? This is pretty solid-looking plastic to me. So why the grease on the front and back? Why would 'scratches' to the 3D printed plastic be an issue?
Thanks Barry!! Will be getting one for myslef. Also, thank you for reminding us that too much pressure on the balls is not a good thing! 😬 You knew in advance this community would not be mature enough after this video and let things go, and you brought us the value anyway. LEGEND!

I always assumed if there are any they just tack them on during the checkout and not at the time of delivery but I’ve never order anything internationally before so I was wondering if any additional charges are included when you buy this and if so, how they’re paid?
You say this is going to wear and I read a comment below saying it didn't last very long (they said hours, but I don't know if that's an exaggeration). Let's say it hypothetically wears out in three months. Not only would it cost the price of the shifter itself within a year, but the performance would constantly be degrading. I'm sure it would work fine, but I have to ask. Does this work with the ricmotech short shift plate? Also, will there be any issues keeping this in there when using in sequential mode also with the ricmotech tactile sequential plate?
The mod looks nice, but I am not sure the shifter axis is strong enough to handle the extra pressure. The lack of bearings surely doesn't help the durability.
Great vid as usual, ty Barry ! I just mounted mine (GT) over a noname 3d printed gate and I must say I'm quite disappointed for now, to the point I even brought back the cheap one in it.
