    I started out with paper beads and of course they were made into necklaces. Satisfying, yes. Sold a few, yet moved on to other projects. Stumbled onto basket weaving videos 4 years ago yet kept experimenting different mediums as well. 4 months ago I started serious meditation time with weaving and got hooked. Still using recycled paper as there is a huge resource found in many different places. Ecstatic to find your channel and woohoo classes. Looking forward to gleaning more of this art form for calming my mental and of course selling. Thank you for your.effots in sharing with others.

    So, if I wanted to make a basket that could, say, act as a hand shield and take impacts from a stick..?

    • @TextileIndie
      @TextileIndie  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hah! I'm not sure rattan is the best material for that purpose - it's very flexible. But I've never tested out being hit with a stick while holding a basket! What type of basket material did people traditionally use to make combat gear?

    I was looking into the basket a month thing but was trying to find how I could get the supplies included too. Are you no longer doing that?

    Do you have tutorials for creating a hamper?

    • @TextileIndie
      @TextileIndie  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't have a hamper tutorial. I do have a basket course with a large storage basket that would serve as a hamper. Here's the link if you're interested:

      I don't have an Easter Basket tutorial on TH-cam. There will be a course on my website shortly on how to make a colorful Easter basket.
