I used to fish a lake that had Tench in, I would be down just before it got light and sprinkle a bit of corn in and gently lower the float next to the Reed's close in the margin then wait for the float to pull away, being there in early morning and catching a few was pure magic, a vlog of your catches from the syndicate would be good to see Tom
I’m all good mate. Busy tying up loose ends at work: only 2 weeks left! Bit of family stuff has kept me off the bank a bit too, plus catching nothing doesn’t make for great video! I’ll be fishing a combination of very challenging, no publicity venues, but also some easier/mixed species stuff in between to a) give myself a break, and b) get some worthwhile content for vids. My aim is to get a video out at least weekly, once I’ve finished work and got myself into a bit of an orderly schedule.. it’s quite a lot to fit in, thinking about it: baiting 2-3 venues a week, blanking, catching stuff to make vids, editing, running a rental house, and entertaining the missus, who lives on the other side of London! I’m more active on Instagram and FB atm. Fishing tonight though, but managed to forget my camera gear. Carp fishing tonight. Lost one early on, snag fishing: gave it some stick and got a bit of fish lip in return!

Sorry I didn’t reply sooner but I’m 7 days into a ten day stint at work so been very busy and very tired…do yourself a favour Tom, never consider becoming a chef, it ain’t as glamorous as it looks on the TV!! Think I’d be putting a rake out Tom , I use a Aspen rake so no splashing ,you put it together like a pole , great rake , get the bottom all raked over and stick a lob worm or part of one on , lovely looking spot , enjoyable video ,look forward to the next .
@@tomwinterfishing9065 yeah good , I’ve only got poles up to 30 mtr but they can go much further , steer left or right ,but the best is the head itself at 1 mtr wide !
Great to see you back behind the camera mate. Really loved the frensham vids years back. That 9lber was stuff of dreams. Nothing like that in Ireland but hoping to beat my long standing pb this year. Hope you have a good season

Quiet, wild lakes! Lovely 🤤 Don’t get any of those round here. We do have the odd gem though, but there’s always a racket from roads or the airport etc!
Didn’t make a video in the end: we really struggled. Only had 3 smaller ones between the both of us. It was a bit of a social fish, with potential for some monsters, but the NE wind definitely put them off😕
@@tomwinterfishing9065 meant to be out in morning to a tiny pond I found that some enterprising anglers put a few tench in 10 years ago. But sick as a dog and don't fancy trapsing through woods trying to find it. Might head somewhere handy
If someone said from now on you can only fish for 3 different species what would your picks be Tom?, mine would be Tench, Barbel and Perch. Thanks for posting that was a nice Tench looked to have a healed wound behind the dorsal fin maybe from a pike or cormorant.
Yeah, I noticed afterwards it had a cormorant wound. You do get them on the pond occasionally. 3 fish: Low stock carp. Tench on waggler, Bagging roach on either bread or hemp on the pole. Love these fish/ methods more than anything. That probably constitutes a big majority of my fishing these days.

Tench are the reason I got into fishing more seriously as a kid. Literally cannot beat the float slipping away from view....
Same here: they were the ‘bigguns’ in my local lake, before people dumped carp in every available bit of water!

I’ve got a nice spot, perfect for it. I’ll go in the week, when the boats are quiet. Dawn raid, I think. Excellent spot for roach on hemp too..
