We are so lucky that people go out and save others every day. We thank them for all the work they do and all their bravery and courage to complete such intense rescues.
My brother lost his life in utah lake. He was lossed in the water for 27 hours. I was so very thankful for them finding him so we could lay him to rest.
When the surf lifesavers suggest you get out of the water. You get out of t he water and especially in the first situation, it was at dusk. The perfect time for sharks to be feeding.
Love to hear it Katherine! We wanna show off all the amazing lifeguards (and other first responder heroes) from ALL over the world! They all deserve appreciation 💪
I worked as a junior lifeguard one summer at a local waterpark when I was a teenager, the park needed people from other departments to help fill in as ride attendants when a lot of the main lifeguards went back to college. we just stood at the top to control the flow of people while the actual guards were at the bottom ready to go in when needed… I was assigned to the most dangerous slide (the Hurricane bowl for anyone who knows, it’s the toilet bowl like slide that has a hole in the center you drop thru into a pool beneath). I will literally never forget, I had a group of adults waiting almost at the front of the line when I heard one of them say they couldn’t swim and another person saying that’s what the lifeguard is for at the bottom. This whole group had the mentality that not knowing how to swim wasn’t a problem because lifeguards were at the bottom of each ride … I was astounded… I had to pull their entire group and call down to the managers to come handle the situation, I think they got kicked out of the park for knowingly putting themselves and the lifeguards in danger. It was over a decade ago but I can still picture their faces. The recklessness some people are capable of is incredibly terrifying.
My heart ❤️ goes out first responders and their difficulty with recovery operations...and they are very confronting outside of the Golden hour, please take a moment to decompress knowing you have achieved closure for the victims family...stand tall straight and true 👍 heroes are not born but made in a single voluntary moment we you move together as one...
Colder temperatures(aka hypothermia) can basically make your organs go into a sort of hibernation, which helps preserve them. Age is also a factor, younger the better. There have been many cases of people pulled out after an hour and living without permanent damage to organs and live full lives. Golden hour is also a term used in general medicine too. That’s about how long hospitals will work or resuscitation before calling time of passing
That also implies he was underwater for that full 10 minutes. The Golden Hour is usually more 'locate him within that time frame'... if it's past that then unless he legit walked away and didn't notice the massive search... he's gone.
I've always had much respect for those willing to risk their lives to help other. However, it does cause me pain to see how they must risk death, for people that don't obey the rules/laws. So many of our first responses lose their lives in this capacity. And it's completely avoidable. Much respect to all those who do risk their lives for others!
Lifeguards KNOW what they are taking about! If they tell you to get out of the water, Get Out of the Water! Even if you are a skilled swimmer, the ocean changes constantly, and massive bodies of water are not the same as a pool. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of those who lost their lives and with the first responders.
10:25 She waited an HOUR to contact lifeguards? Why? I guess you can’t say what you’d do in a situation until you’re in it. #lifejacketssavelives Buy also, mad respect to these guys/lifeguards!! Seeing them go into the wreckage, I could never! I’d have a panic attack that I’d get stuck. 11:24 When there’s a place called “wreck alley” 😳
It’s hard to have sympathy when they told you get out of the water and you consistently don’t so that’s on you and I’m sorry for the loss but people are stupid
It was clearly rough conditions and dusk. Perfect time for sharks to be feeding and one is starting to loose light in order to be able to see easily. I have little sympathy for the arrogance of the 4 men in the first situation.
Just curious how do they think someone could be revived after being under water for an hour? Like 10 minutes without oxygen = brain dead plus water on the lungs secondary drowning its just not viable
Because the cold temperature of the water allows the brain/organs to “hibernate” so to speak. After an hour the chances of the brain/organs “recovering from that hibernation” are next to none
Also the lungs can ABSOLUTELY recover from drowning and secondary drowning. They have pulled more than a few people, from many different bodies of water, after 45-60 minutes and had them survive and live full lives!
There have been many cases of people getting pulled up an hour later and surviving. Cold water (causing hypothermia) and age (younger the better) can increase favorable outcomes. I mean, yes, the best outcomes out of all of it is if they are found before 10 minutes, but statistics show that an hour is still possible.
Not to be rude or anything? But 60 mins underwater and the can still revive them makes no sense. In 3 mins the brain damage is so severe the neuron’s are dying out massively and after 5 mins death is imminent 5:445:445:44
They’re in the Pacific Ocean. The water is cold enough that your organs will stop or at least slow down enough that you won’t take any in. Also, the golden hour is known time frame in medical field. If you get an injured or ill person past that hour their chances of long term survival rises greatly.
4:23 no kind of sense of urgency, or pep in their step. It's almost as if they didn't really care,or had already decided that it wasn't worth their time or effort. They took their time, stood around, and chatted. Then after a long time they decided that they should go get the wife to find the exact spot he went under at.

Lifeguards know the beach better than anyone so it's always a good idea to listen to their advice!
Not an easy job. Thank you for what you do.
Really liking this show, I’m a big fan of Bondi, good to see our men and women getting their recognition here in the U.S as well❤

May all rest in Peace.

May God Bless every one of you guys and keep you safe 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
I live in San Diego and I had no idea we had a show! Its so cool to see my city!
Do you often visit the beach in San Diego?
@@RealLifeRescue no not as much anymore but I used to as a kid!

60 minutes underwater?!? I understand hope but you start getting catastrophic brain damage after 10 minutes.

Depending on the temps, but in Cali certainly. 20 mins is very generous.
@@kendallstout2020 in California though, that's very generous...
That also implies he was underwater for that full 10 minutes. The Golden Hour is usually more 'locate him within that time frame'... if it's past that then unless he legit walked away and didn't notice the massive search... he's gone.
AND if he's struggling to swim or floating in distress... one can only do that for so long till going down.

This doesn't quite hit the feels in the same way Bondi rescue does

Yeah, its their choice to disobey those rules so they will pay the consequences.

Manikins diving reflex plays a role in survival, there has been cases of recovery but they were in cold water less than 10 degrees C
So now you are definitely putting other peoples lives at risk!!!
This is so american that it's painful, condolences to the family of the deceased.
@@jamesnoonan7450 like people don't drown all over the world?
@ytcommenter375 Not my point, I meant the entire feel of the show felt extremely americanised and corny.
sad

the cold water acts helps to preserve the organ so it doesn't start to decompose as yet but age also has a huge factor in it also
